No, you need to finish installing and running the program. You may need to use your jaws cursor some to do this but tab around and use the jaws cursor and you will find different things that need to be answered and then you click on the next button and just keep following the prompts it will take you through it Best, Alan On Feb 17, 2015, at 17:52, Kevin Lee klee...@gmail.com wrote: I downloaded the 64 bits saved it to my download folder on my computer. then I closed the internet went to my download folder found hitman pro x 64 double clicked on it to run, got security question do you want to run or cancel I ran the program got a next button, then a close button and that was it! did it scan what happened? Do not call that number. Your system has been contaminated by malware. If you call the number, someone will offer to fix your system for hundreds of dollars USD. 2. You have two choices. A: Create a system Restore point and take it back at least a month. B: Contact Microsoft Disability Support and they will assist in removing the malware. This kind of problem is unfortunately quite common these days. NOTE: If this isn't your problem, please relay it to the person with the Kidnap malware issue. According to Microsoft Disability Support, the only effective way to remove something like that is with a really strong anti-virus program like Hitman Pro or Avast. I had bought this program a couple of years ago, I had some type of rootkit or something really nasty and I had tried several other programs and nothing removed it. Well, I just downloaded CCleaner from the JAWS Users programs page and went through all the steps until I reached the Install page just to see whether Unchecky really works. This time, instead of being checked by default, the box for installing Google Chrome was now unchecked by default, so it looks like Unchecky works, and from now on, I will never have to worry about inadvertently installing Chrome or any other unwanted program because of those nasty surreptitious check boxes. Re: [JAWS-Users] Warning About Downloading CCleaner From JAWS UsersPrograms Page
Well, you're correct. I located the check box for installing Google Chrome on the Install page of the downloader by using the JAWS cursor. But clicking on this check box with the left mouse button gives no indication of whether the box is checked or unchecked, so if you are not careful, you may wind up re-checking this box by accident . In any case, I installed Unchecky so that this check box will automatically be unchecked the next time I update CCleaner. Perhaps this useful little utility should be added to the JAWS Users programs page, which,by the way, now has a warning accompanying the CCleaner download link to be careful about inadvertently installing unwanted programs. When you're on the Install button, route the Jaws cursor to the PC cursor, press the page-up key to go to the top of the page, arrow down 1 line at a time. You'll need to uncheck the checkboxes with Numpad slach or left mouse button. Also there is a little program called Unchecky that will stop this as well. Info is below: From: Carlos Anyone who is concerned about unintentionally installing promotional software may be interested in trying Unchecky. http://unchecky.com/ It runs in the background as a service and monitors for recognized installers. It then automatically unchecks any checkboxes related to installing toolbars, browsers, and similar unwanted products. I have not thoroughly tested the program and it is not guaranteed to catch everything, but there have already been several updates since the initial release so I'm sure it's detection rate will improve. So now you can use C Cleaner to un install chrome. In addition to installing CCleaner, Google Chrome was also installed, much to my chagrin. Using the JAWS cursor to examine the installation options in the user interface, I did not come across any check box or other means of preventing Google Chrome from being installed along with CCleaner. I do not remember having this problem in the past, so it looks like Puriform is now forcing Chrome down your throat whether you want it or not. Chrome is still not especially JAWS accessible, and removing it is a real pain. Therefore, I suggest that a warning be added to the CCleaner download link that downloading and installing CCleaner will also result in the installation of Google Chrome, which is nothing but unwanted crapware for most JAWS users. Re: [JAWS-Users] anti virus
Maybe you don't have a virus; your malware, if you have any, could be something else. Try running AdwCleaner. Each time you want to run it, you need to re-download it as it doesn't install on your computer. It is totally accessible, and will identify tons of stuff. It will put them in categorized lists that you can browse. Uncheck anything you don't want it to remove. You will probably have eight tabs or so of stuff--things it finds for each browser, files, programs, registry entries, etc. https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/ It is completely accessible with any screen reader I've tried with it. I do not remember having this problem in the past, so it looks like Puriform is now forcing Chrome down your throat whether you want it or not. Holger, Extremely urgent! 1. I've used this program for quite awhile now it works great! HTH Take care. I could not find any check box for installing Google Chrome anywhere on the downloader interface, and I checked each page carefully with the JAWS cursor. I wound up removing it using Revo Uninstaller. If anyone else can find the elusive check box for installing Chrome, please let me knoe how to locate it so that I do not get screwed over again the next time I install a new version of CCleaner. It's either Ask or Chrome or a few similar bun unnecessary, but you have the option to uncheck the install box during setup, IF of course you can find it.
