I am at the point that I will not view any videos that are sent to me by links. Twice some unwanted software was installed on my machine. I honestly believed that it came from watching a forwarded email video link. I just installed uncheck to help prevent unwanted software from being installed when you do some updates. Is there anything that will notify or stop the installation of unsoliced software when bringing up a video link? Hi, I am still receiving no mail from the list. I did what Bob suggested. I unsubscribed last night, and subscribed again this morning. I didn't get a confirm email like you should get when trying to join a group. This kind of stuff shouldn't happen. Either you solve the problem, or I will have to give up. After doing a direct compare of the version from earlier this morning to what I received this afternoon I must conclude at this point I favor the first option. They both work but I'm not certain the second version is working the way it is expected, probably more testing is needed. Well first off I'll have to make sure I understand it as you have explained. Mind you at least to my way of thinking there is no need to go overboard with features. Like I said it is great that the thing works, but a backup feature could be good if say for example the new scripts had some sort of bug and you wish to revert back to what was previously being used. Re: [JAWS-Users] Query for JAWS 13
Hi Delip. This is Helga! How are you? To answer your question, no JAWS 13 will not work with windows 10. In order to use windows 10 you need JAWS 16 or 17. I have Jaws 14, and I can't get windows 10. you can get JAWS 17 license, and after you install it to your computer, you can get JAWS 16 for free from the site. But you need to purchase a copy for JAWS 17 first though. Hope this clarifies you regarding windows 10. Hope to hear form you soon. Thanks and God bless! Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook, how to send a private message, unlabeled button
Kimsan, I did try the mobile version. Here's the problem there, and maybe you or someone else has a suggestion for this part. The person I located after many years has a very common name. Let's say it's John Smith, which it isn't. Through Google, I found what is almost certainly the right regular Facebook page for that person based on the biographical data there. However, when I searched for that name on the mobile version, all those thousands of extraneous people with the same name came up and I couldn't restrict the search terms. So, any idea how I can find the mobile version of a regular Facebook page? -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Kimsan Sent: Thursday, April 14, 2016 11:59 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook, how to send a private message, unlabeled button Is this via the regular fb page? Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS script install
Thanks David, and also Thanks Jamal because I written the Program interface using his autoit library. This is the update version that support backing up the original script before installing: http://tinyurl.com/h5ooggn Program will copy all files has the same name with one exists in the archive into a folder name backup, then create a zip file named backup.zip parallel the *.exe file, and remove the backup folder, so you should be careful. Never place the exe file parallel an existing folder named backup because you'll be lost your data. I'll think of creating a backup file with copy into any folder. Hope that you're interested this feature. --- Dang Manh Cuong The Assistive technology specialist Sao Mai Vocational and assistive center for the blind 391 Lac Long Quan, ward 5, Dst 11, HCMC, Vietnam Tel: +84862573309 E-mail: vanph...@trungtamsaomai.org; congn...@trungtamsaomai.org Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SaoMaiCenter Website: http://www.trungtamsaomai.org; http://www.saomaicenter.org Mobile / Zalo: +84 902-572-300 E-mail: dangmanhcu...@gmail.com; cu...@trungtamsaomai.org Yahoo! [JAWS-Users] jaws friendly file duplicate program
Hi all, Looking for a easy to use free file duplicate program. I want one that will look for more than just the file name and give you options on which one to keep and which one to delete. Being able to do it by settings instead of having to make a choice for each file would be great. The information contained in this message is proprietary and/or confidential. [JAWS-Users] Solved my jaws 16 vs. 17 hotkey problem
Hi All, It took some time and poking around but I figured out the cause of my inability to reassign control-alt-J from version 16 to version 17. For some reason, and don't ask me why I did this, I had pinned jaws 16 to the taskbar. So when jaws 17 was running, I actually had two instances of jaws on my taskbar. Dave, you were right when you said I probably had two jaws icons hanging around. It was just the taskbar rather than the desktop where the problem was. As soon as I unpinned 16 from the taskbar I was able to successfully assign control-alt-J to jaws 17. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions. You guys are the best. [JAWS-Users] JAWS and Visual Studio text editor
When using JAWS in conjunction with Visual Studio 2013 to learn how to develop applications in C# (C Sharp) I have encountered the following hurdles. Does anyone have any thoughts/guidance that will assist me in getting over these hurdles? 1. The text editor has an option to turn on line numbering. Even with the numbering turned on, JAWS does not 'see' them and therefore does not speak them. Also, there are some tasks that are completed by entering information into the line number area which I cannot get JAWS to move a cursor into that area. 2. When syntax errors are identified, the editor places colored wavy lines under the source code where the errors exist. JAWS does not recognize these indicators. 3. On the left hand side of the editor window there is a vertical line/column where certain indicators are set/displayed. JAWS does not seem to recognize this column as anything other than a left side boundary. The line numbers mentioned in the above item are to the left of this column. The odd thing about this is that JAWS does seem to recognize when things are there (breakpoint indicators and other indicators related to collapsing and expanding of blocks of code), but will not allow me to move the cursor there to set the breakpoint, etc. If anyone has any information regarding either Visual studio or JAWS 16 settings that I can set to get over any of these hurdles, it would be greatly appreciated. Re: [JAWS-Users] JAWS script install
Thank you, I will send it up to the server in a few minutes. Also I must apologies for the volume level of my recording yesterday. When I played it on my home stereo it was quite loud enough but playing it on this system with just regular computer speakers I had to crank it up a bit. I record those things using a USB headset and it was loud enough in my ears, but then again I don't like headphones to be overly loud. So for the next recording I will keep all of this in mind. It's all there, just turn up the sound. I might go ahead and replace it since there is an updated version of the program. Re: [JAWS-Users] image for windows backup version 2.99
I do much the same thing in that I have a number of batch files coded to shutdown the computer anywhere from 5 minutes to 6 hours. It simply involved multiples of 60. Your method will work just fine because I imagine you set the batch file to shut things down well after IFW is finished doing its' thing. I have one slight problem that I do have a work around. I have it set for the simple operation, and can not get it to turn the computer off when finished. I had my wife try it without jaws and it worked perfect. At the start page, the last one, there are power options. I down arrow down to shutdown. It is highlighted. I tried also to use both the space bar and enter and the option does not work. If she does it she just takes her mouse down to shutdown and it works. Now my workaround is that I have a power off bat file.I start that before or right after I run image for windows. --- Please visit my web page It's motivational, inspirational with a touch of humor There is also a very extensive resource list for the blind http://www.LennyMcHugh.com International Brotherhood of Magicians member #43990R For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/ For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/

[JAWS-Users] remove a recent update
my PC updated yesterday, and now when I’m on IE, and hit any keyboard key, it says the wrong letter name, but does put the correct letter where I’m writing. I’m sure this is due to an IE update, but is there a way to quickly find the IE update, instead of going through all of my updates? the first 3 updates are for MSOffice.
