[JAWS-Users] Is Anyone Else Having the Following Issues with JAWS 18?
Hi All, Running Windows 10 (1607), Office 365 Home and Business 2016, and the most current version of JAWS, I am experiencing the following issues: Outlook 2016 will crash and close 2 or 3 times within 20 minutes when opening or deleting messages. Excel 2016 will crash and close on occasion and for no apparent reason. JAWS 18 will not provide information regarding the suggestion in spell check when in Word 2016; even the JAWS Key+F7 command will not provide this information. This information is provided perfectly when using JAWS 17. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing the above issues. Another way to get to the read view is using the keystroke Alt/W and then D. You can use your JAWS navigation key to read the slide, space bar to go to the next slide and backspace to go back a slide. Re: [JAWS-Users] blank lines in office 2013
Leonard, I assume this procedure is no different from Word 2010, which I use. To eliminate blank lines, I use the search and replace function, control-h, with more than one instance of ^p for the search term and possibly nothing in the replace field. ^p is the Word symbol for paragraph. This gets tricky because you might not want to eliminate every example of an extra line. Also, when you search for ^p^p (two paragraph signs), you might not pick up all the extra lines because there's a space in-between. So I first search for the paragraph sign and space and replace each instance with a paragraph sign absent the space. Only then do I search and replace for the ^p^p term. I could go on about this and send you right to sleep, but this general concept works for me. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of leonard morris Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2017 6:00 PM To: Jaws Subject: [JAWS-Users] blank lines in office 2013 I have a file which has a lot of blank lines between text. Re: [JAWS-Users] Tables headings columns verbosity
When Jim does his next JAWS lesson, he might pull together a list of the JAWS verbiage that can and can't be suppressed. I know block quote/end block quote and similar verbalizations can be suppressed, but many can't be. This is why you can't just sit back and let JAWS rip in "say all" without sometimes turning to the keyboard to bypass these annoying disruptions. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of T. Re: [JAWS-Users] blank lines in office 2013
Hi Leonard, I don't have office 13, but in earlier versions of office, if the document has lots of blank lines between text, in the find what field, I would check the amount of blank lines I need to get rid of, press the enter key as to the amount of blanks I want to remove, then in the replace field, I press the space key once and go from there. In lots of documents like those, I find the blanklines are not consistent, so I had to go through the find/replace more than once. -Original Message- From: leonard morris Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2017 6:00 PM To: Jaws Subject: [JAWS-Users] blank lines in office 2013 I have a file which has a lot of blank lines between text. Re: [JAWS-Users] account in box on Thunderbird
Tom, your Thunderbird should include as default an In box and draft, sent and trash boxes. You can add other mailboxes by moving the cursor above the in box and hitting the applications key. Arrow down to new folder and zap - you have a new folder/box. On moving back and forth from the Tree View to mailboxes. Even though I've had Thunderbird for about three years I still sometimes tab when I should use the arrow keys as I am navigating from mailbox to mailbox through the tree view. Don't be afraid to tab your heart out until you find what you want. Thunderbird is very stable and forgiving, I've found.
