I have also have had a problem with Kindle for PC using Windows 10.
According to the Amazon web site when this occurred a few months back I
could not get the Kindle for PC app to read properly. According to the web
site and a follow up conversation with an Amazon representative it appears
that Kindle for PC has not been updated for versions of Windows later than
Windows 7. Other than getting suggestions to purchase an IPhone I haven't
gotten any other usable suggestions to use this app.

Hello gang.
How do I get a purchased kindle book to actually download on my computer's
hard drive?? ,
Using Win8.1, Latest JFW17. I installed and logged on to Amazon's 'Kindle
for PC' program on my Win8.1 windows computer. I'm successfully logged on to
my amazon account each time I open the "kindle for PC' program. I bought a
kindle book using my web browser at amazon.com and clicked the 'deliver to
kindle for PC' button. ON my computer opening the 'kindle for PC' program, I
can see the purchased book listed there. I just can't find it on my PC's
hard drive which suggests that the 'kindle for PC' program on my computer is
accessing the book and its contents from the cloud and not my PC's hard
drive. I can open and read the book within the 'kindle for PC' program. I
however need it on my PC's hard drive so I can use AN ACCESSIBLE LEGAL
SOFTWARE CALED the CALLED 'CODEX' TO CONVERT THE KNIDLE FORMAT TO ANOTHER TO
ALLOW me to read it on my BookSense Xt.I can also see that installing the
'kindle for PC' and logging on to my amazon account through this program on
my computer put the kindle book 'Treasure Island' for free on my PC's hard
drive and I'm able to locate the files for this kindle book on the hard
drive. I can also see Treasure Island right below the book I purchased in
the list in the kindle for PC program. Just can't find the purchased book
anywhere on the hard drive despite doing a search.

It looks like AVG may be the best way to go with jaws. At least, it is
beginning to look that way to me.

Is anyone on the list using AVG? If so, what do you think of it? Seems
like jaws friendly virus protection is getting harder to find.

I have never had any problems using "System Restore" and AVG unless there
was a virus that was preventing a system restore to occur.

As has been said here before, AVG blocks all attempts at system restoration.
If I can ever get my computer back in shape, and get rid of the thing once
and for all, I'm done.

It's reasonably accessible. The most accessible virus protection I currently
know of that is free is Microsoft Security Essentials. I'd stay away from
that program as it misses a lot of threats.

The AVG Secure Search is a toolbar that can be removed. Depending on your
operating system it should be shwon in your programs as a separate program
or in your toolbars that you can disable or remove. You don't need it.

I have been using the paid version of AVG for several years now. It is
reasonably JAWS friendly although there are times when I have to use the
JAWS cursor to read details. While it works its accessibility is not quite
as good as in previous versions. However I have been very satisfied with the
results of the program. I am using it with the latest version of JAWS and
Windows 8.1.

It looks like FS came out with an update to Jaws 15, but I can't find a
page on their site that explains what they changed with this latest
release. Anyone know what's new?
