This morning, both Jaws and Magic informed me that I was using temporary versions of the programs and had to re-authorize them or they would run out within a short time. Luckily, each provided the authorization number and I could easily re-authorize them without difficulty. If I'd had a problem, I'd have had to wait until tomorrow when FS is open. I'm wondering if this happens to other people and if anyone can explain why it happens. It's really inconvenient, particularly for someone like me whose technical capabilities are so limited. When I press Jaws+F7, no links show and Jaws recommends I press Jaws+F5. And we already know that Jaws+F5 does not work in Jaws 14 for Outlook 2010 attachments in an RTF message. Interestingly enough, when I press Jaws+Shift+W, the RTF message does not open up in a browser. Instead, a list of options pops up, and I can save the attachment using the save attachments option. This latter option likely is the best workaround yet. I asked Freedom Scientific for assistance, but have not had the time to work with tech support over the phone. When I do, I will let the list know the outcome. For sure, the function of Jaws+F5 changed in Jaws 14 within Outlook 2010. That useful keystroke works just fine in Jaws 13, but does not work in the latest Jaws version. Someone suggested that I get state government to do something about RTF messages. Re: [JAWS-Users] Help with links on bank site
If you have the links list up, then when you get to the link, tab over and listen for the option move to link. Hit enter. Then, rout jaws to the virtual cursor, and double click with the left mouse button. If you encounter the link whithout the links list, in other words, through using the arrows and tab keys, then routt jaws to virtual cursor, and hit enter. In order to rout jaws to the virtual cursor, press insert minus on the numpad. The Minus is also refered to as jaws cursor, and it is located on the top right of the numpad. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Alan Robbins Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2012 8:14 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Help with links on bank site Bob, Thanks, don't see any of those options with the application key, thanks anyway /Al -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of bob cavanaugh Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2012 7:37 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Help with links on bank site What usually works for me is hit the applications key and go down to open, then click enter. Re: [JAWS-Users] Controlling how alt+tab works
If you want to take JAWS off your taskbar, go into the jaws menu with insert j, then use alt o for options. Then find basics, it should be the first choice, and hit enter. Tab to run jaws from system tray and then use the space bar to check it. then hit enter, or tab to okay. Reboot your pc, and you won't have the JAWS window on the task bar. When you hit insert j to go into the jaws menu after you have done that, it should say jaws context menu, so it will look a little different. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Dan Rossi Sent: Monday, October 29, 2012 10:48 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Controlling how alt+tab works I asked about alt-tab on a win 7 box a while ago as well. One says Save Changes and the other says Submit. My wife, who is sighted, informs me that these buttons are there, as does the technical help person at the Hadley School. However, JAWS does not read or recognize these buttons. I am using JAWS version 11, Windows Vista on a 32 bit system, and IE 9. I am practicing recording myself with the sound recorder. I successfully recorded from a Minnie cassette recorder to my line in on my computer. The recording of a thunderstorm came out very well. But as far as recording my voice over the microphone at first it came out very low. I went to the properties of the microphone headphone and changed it to studio quality. I went to the level tab and made sure the volume was at 100 percent. I changed the boost from 0 to 66 percent. Now the volume is a lot louder, but there is too much hiss. So to make this request short, I have two questions. 1. How do I get the maximum volume out of my microphone without all the hiss. 2. If I want to record computer lessons using Jaws in the recording, how do I include my voice and jaws together on the same recording. I hope you understand what I am asking. I am using the latest Jaws 13 on a windows 7, 32 bit system. I have two sets of speakers on my computer. Jaws is coming out of the desktop sound card, everything else is coming through my USB Bose speaker system. Any help would be appreciated. I like to learn new things, it is very exciting. Re: [JAWS-Users] word 2010 and switching between multiple documents
Try control f6 -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Boston, Jason (RIS-OKC) Sent: Wednesday, May 23, 2012 2:21 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] word 2010 and switching between multiple documents Hi all, I'm learning the ropes for word 2010 and have learned word now has multiple documents in the same instance of word instead of opening up an instance of word for each word document you open. This is how it was back in word 97. I like the idea, except I can't find the key combination that will switch you from one document to the other without using the mouse to do it. Any ideas on this hot key? Thanks, Jason - The information contained in this e-mail message is intended only for the personal and confidential use of the recipient(s) named above. Use f6 to go to the status bar, then press the right arrow. You will hear what you want. You can also use alt r then w. Rout JAWS to pc, then read up with the JAWS cursor. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Muhammad Babar Shahzad Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 7:05 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Office 2007 Thanks, but just wondered if it works like in office 2003 this information was read by jaws automatecally.- Original Message - From: David davidwhitehead1...@cogeco.ca To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 4:56 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Office 2007 Hello; While in your document; Pressf6key enter on word count, Now, rout jaws to pc and read your information.
