[JAWS-Users] drop box question

2016-12-31 Thread Geno Stone
For thos that are using less than Pro, as of December, fully taking effect,
Jan. 01, there will be no longer a Public drop box, to enhance their
security and their policies. The only ones that still have the use of Public
is those with a Pro or more account.

Hi!

I don't remember where I saw this but in a forum I frequent I saw a
message that said that dropbox is dropping the public folder. That's all
I know, I didn't research it further since I chose sendspace over
dropbox for accessibility reasons and because I didn't like some of
dropbox's policies.

Cheers!

2016-08-30 Thread valiant8086
Go into the folder, press tab till you hear view mode. If not in detail
view currently, most likely only one press of tab will do it. It says,
view mode, detailed radio button not checked most likely if not
currently in detail view. Press right arrow it'll probably say something
like, large icons. Then just left arrow again to put it back on the
details radio button, and it'll be checked this time. I'm going on the
assumption you really want detail view and not list view. List view
still does exist, but detail view is in a vertical non-grid layout and
you can right arrow to go across the columns to easily obtain
information like the file size, date modified and the like depending on
which columns you actually have turned on.

[JAWS-Users] Drop Box Question-Sharing a Folder?

2016-08-18 Thread Pauline Dalton

Hello All,

I have created a folder in Drop Box which I would like to share.
In the past, I was able to follow the prompts to accomplish the task, and the
folder would appear in the drop box of the people with whom I wanted to share.

For some reason, the only thing I can find is a link which allows access to the
shared folder.
No folder appears in the Drop Box of the individual I wish to share with.

What am I doing wrong?
How should I proceed to accomplish my task?

All help is appreciated.

I am using JAWS17, Windows 8.1.

Thank you.

I don't envy you guys who have to constantly keep updating things to remain
compatible with every update that floats down the virtual line.

Your program speak drop box does work quite well, it is installed on all of
my systems for quite some time already, thank you for creating it.

Would it be possible to do such an animal for one drive? I imagine there is
an entire new set of variables involved in that situation.

Hi.

Currently jaws doesn't automatically read notifications for windows 10, so
in order to know what files are being changed automatically in realtime,
you'll need something like speakDropbox. Though for the record, it isn't
compatible with the yet unreleased windows 10 update that should come out

could get into these program settings but, you had to use your Jaws cursor

I am having major issues here and it's making me crazy.

When drop box is in the tray, if I enter on it, and then open it, it spits

I am asking if anyone who might be using drop box 2.65 are experiencing any
issues that also use windows 7 home and jaws 15 latest?

I am having major issues here and it's making me crazy.

When drop box is in the tray, if I enter on it, and then open it, it spits
me right back into the program I was or still am in. Like, my window's mail
client. drop box does not open. So I can only think, it's this version not
compatible with win/7 or jaws 15 latest.

Does anyone know the answer?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Drop Box 2.65

I am asking if anyone who might be using drop box 2.65 are experiencing
any

issues that also use windows 7 home and jaws 15 latest?

I am having major issues here and it's making me crazy.

When drop box is in the tray, if I enter on it, and then open it, it spits
me right back into the program I was or still am in. Like, my window's
mail

client. drop box does not open. So I can only think, it's this version not
compatible with win/7 or jaws 15 latest.

Does anyone know the answer?

Hi Trish Maria,

I'm sorry I wasn't more specific when I said I couldn't access the menues in
Dropbox 2.6.5. The menues I meant are the program menues where you could
change your download, upload speeds, other program settings. I used to
press enter on the Dropbox system tray icon I would get a dialogue asking
if I wanted to open the DB folder, menues, I don't recall what else was
there. Well, if you pressed enter or spacebar on the menues option you
could get into these program settings but, you had to use your Jaws cursor
to navigate them. Now, I can't find these settings, if they even exist, in
this newer version. Maria mentioned that she's running version 2.4.,
if I recall you could still access the menues in that version. Maria, would
you or, anyone else running an older version, verify this please? Thanks
much.

Hi Trish,

I have .RTF files at the bottom of my DB folder but, none of them say how to
access the preferences menu. The preferences menu is the menu I can't
access in DB 2.6.5 like I used to in older versions. I had been using the
wrong terminology in previous posts' I'm terribly sorry for that.
Take care.

Thanks
much.

Does anyone know the answer?

 spits
me right back into the program I was or still am in. Like, my window's
 mail
client. drop box does not open. So I can only think, it's this version
 not
compatible with win/7 or jaws 15 latest.

 Does anyone know the answer?

Hi Ann Marie,
You can create a folder for this person if you want to do that in your drop box
program. Just go into drop box, and hit your application key and go to new, and
under new, you'll see folder. So, here you can call that folder what you want,
such
as, Jim and Ann Marie, and then, you can invite whoever that person is to share
the
folder you created. If you want more help with this, write me off list at,

Ann Marie, the first thing you need to do is install the drop box program
 on your
computer. So go to the web site: www.dropbox.com and download drop box to
 your
computer. Install it. During the installation, it will ask if you have an
 account
with drop box, and you'll answer yes. They will want you to sign on with
 your name

 you have
folders in your drop box, you can download to those folders. HTH. Jim

Last time I had dropbox on my PC it kept coming up with a message about drop

[JAWS-Users] Drop Box and Public Folder Sharing

2013-09-16 Thread Trish
REcently I updated drop box on 3 devices. All 3 devices are linked and each
shows same folders/files.
However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder and
then press the applications key to copy public link, I get no such option
within the context menu. I checked it on my desktop running xp, the copy public
link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not showing
through applications key on window's 7 laptop.
Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy
links from within this particular folder.

Thanks,

Re: [JAWS-Users] drop box

2013-09-16 Thread Trish
Suzy Q,

I'm confused here. You can share these links from the public folder on their
web site, it works, but who wants to go that route. Thanks to David, now I
don't have to.

No, you don't have to upgrade, but when there is an issue and one of your
devices isn't like syncing to a prior version, then in order to get it to,
the upgrade is necessary. I had to for my 4/s

Now, when something is shared or whatever is going on in drop box, jaws
states it on the computers, a ding dong sound blurb notifies me on my 4/s

Thank goodness for workarounds!

[JAWS-Users] Drop Box Again

2013-09-16 Thread Trish
Holy Cow! That is now in the context menu!

I pressed the applications key, then the letter D, it showed all the drop
box items right there, I didn't do anything, didn't install or remove
anything, well now I did do something in Adobe, but don't see how that would
apply here.
Oh well, it's working and it's there, who cares how it got there.

shows same folders/files.
However only on my windows 7 laptop, when I put item in the public folder
and then press the applications key to copy public link, I get no such
option within the context menu. I checked it on my desktop running xp, the
copy public link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not
showing through applications key on window's 7 laptop.
Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy

copy public link was in the list through the applications key, but it is not
showing through applications key on window's 7 laptop.
Please can anyone help me figure this out? I really need to be able to copy
links from within this particular folder.

Thanks,

Hi David,

I do not believe it is essential one upgrade, right? I mean, Dropbox doesn't
force the upgrade, correct? If this is the case, then I don't feel users
have to upgrade just because everyone else is upgrading. There probably
isn't any great feature to be gained, so I wouldn't fix something that ain't

know...even texted me a link to install on my 4/s, now that was way cool!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Drop box Links

2013-01-21 Thread Steve

Bob,

Ok, now that I did a little looking. It turns out the version of Dropbox
doesn't matter. New accounts created after some time in early October don't
get the public folder by default. Instead, you can share links.

If you want the public folder, though, do the following:
https://www.dropbox.com/enable_public_folder,
then click on the enable public folder button on the screen.

Next you need to verify your email address by clicking on Send email
button on the pop up, check your inbox and click on the verification link
sent by dropbox, your public folder is now enabled message will be shown
on your Dropbox account.
