Oh, it's not a conspiracy theory, it's the truth. If you ever root your
mobile phone, you might be dismayed to see the number of things that run in
the background, which are potential backdoors to discover all kinds of
things about you, your habits, your messages, contacts. These aren't spyware

I did not read the whole thread, but it sure made it sound like fixing this
problem was more than it was worth. I would personally just use another
media player, like Winamp, Foobar or VlC. I don't see the point in messing
around with your user account or restore points just to be able to play a
bloody mp3. Still, you don't seem to be alone with this problem, so do some
more investigating online if you feel it's worth the effort. I know that's
not much help. I never liked Windows media Player and don't know why
Microsoft feels the need to connect to its silly network every time you want
to play something.

Re: [JAWS-Users] error message. Windows media player.

2018-01-28 Thread JM Casey
This is definitely way off topic for this list, so we should probably stop
after this. Basically it's taking control of your phone and becoming the
"superuser". You can delete things that your phone came with which you don't
want around. You can even change the operating system if you want to. When
you root your phone though, you are on your own; good luck getting any kind
of tech support from your provider. However, it's worth doing, if, for
example, you can't get rid of that pesky bloatware Metro PCS or AT put on
your phone, or if you have an SD card and for some reason the apps you have
downloaded refuse to allow themselves to be moved to it. It works with
Android devices, but I don't know if you can do anything equivalent with an
iPhone.

Not sure if the same message will pop up if I use a different player but I'm
trying to listen to a goldwave tutorial mp3 and when I right click and have
it play in windows media player, I get the following message:

C:\Users\kimsan\Documents\random\goldwave tutorials\Goldwave With

C:\Users\kimsan\Documents\random\goldwave tutorials\Goldwave With

OK

Can someone clue me in on what's going on?

Thanks

Re: [JAWS-Users] error message. Windows media player.

2018-01-28 Thread JM Casey
Hey Kimsan.

I came across this page after reading your message:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance-win
pc/server-execution-failed-with-windows-media-player/58a159d0-0e5a-475c-b3fa
-7adfa631b18d?auth=1

I did not read the whole thread, but it sure made it sound like fixing this
problem was more than it was worth. I would personally just use another
media player, like Winamp, Foobar or VlC. I don't see the point in messing
around with your user account or restore points just to be able to play a
bloody mp3. Still, you don't seem to be alone with this problem, so do some
more investigating online if you feel it's worth the effort. I know that's
not much help. I never liked Windows media Player and don't know why
Microsoft feels the need to connect to its silly network every time you want
to play something.

rectify this security issue on my W 10 laptop, to no avail. I found the
fix for all versions except for mine. It wasn't till this morning that

Since I'm running a 64 bit system the troublesome files that won't install
are 32 bit files, would this be what is giving me all this grief?

Here are the files in question:

Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2510690) 32-bit Edition
Important 292.4 MB

Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455) 32-Bit Edition

All input would be appreciated. Thanks much.

[JAWS-Users] error message in outlook 2007

2011-12-31 Thread leonard morris
Last week I discussed an error message I got using outlook 2007 when I tried
to send an attachment to my distribution group list. The attached file was a
mp3 file about 3MB size. The suggestion to resolve the issue from you was to
send it to one or two people in the group list and that suggestion was
helpful and successful. However, now I am just sending a three paragraph
message to the group and I am once again getting the error message an
unexpected error has occurred. Now I am totally baffled since this group is
only seven people and a three paragraph message containing only text can not
be that large. In fact I recall using outlook way back in 2004 at work and I
sent messages to groups larger than 20 contacts. Again any ideas what's
happening here?

Could one of the addresses in your distribution group have a
typographical error? Or, in what field are you typing the groupname?
Some ISP's will not allow messages to be sent BCC unless they also have
an address in the To: field.

I am typing the group name in the to field. But, in reviewing the list of
names I noticed some names and email addresses get repeated twice. For
example, it will say and show flor jones f...@aol.com twice. Other names and
addresses will show and be spoken only once. Why this happens I am not
sure. I am going to delete the group and put the names back under a
different group list name and see what happens.

You might try installing NVDA which sometimes works when JAWS stops

Also Narrator might work, but you'd have to use hotkeys to get either

If you can get narrator to come on. You might be able to read it, but
if the sound card buffer is locked by jaws. then you will have to get
someone with sight to read it. Only because the sound card will give
no speech and may only give you a few keystrokes before locking up
the system. Witch will cause a reboot to get it back speaking.

You can do an insert control w to virtualize the screen and then do a

Subject: [JAWS-Users] error message

Hi, List
I am using a program and when I tried to run it I get a error message. Is
there a way to use jaws to copy the message so I can send it to the people
who created it for help?

Kind Regard

[JAWS-Users] error message when installing skype

2007-09-28 Thread jason smith
Hi David,
I installed the skype scripts okay. However, when I ran the skype-setup file, I
got the error message this is not a valid win32 application(or something like
that). What can I do about this?
Thanks Jason
P.S when I chose to have the skype scripts recompiled, I was taken back to a
blank screen. Should I have received a Jaws prompt saying compiling completed
or something?

Re: [JAWS-Users] error message when installing skype

2007-09-28 Thread Chris Hallsworth
Hi, try downloading Skype again. When the Skype scripts are installed you
should land back on the desktop, however since JAWS has focus querks you may
have to do a Windows m to minimize all applications and focus on the
desktop. Hope that helps.
