Re: [JAWS-Users] Facebook Accessibility Phone Number
I had that issue, and still do as I write this, and I don't have a phone number, and I am just telling you my experience. At the end, it asked me to send photo id to verify my identity. [JAWS-Users] facebook accessibility
Here is a email I found. hth I don't know how it works with jaws 7 on the main facebook site, however, once your account is set up, there are 2 alternative sites you can use. The Mobile site, which should work well with jaws 7. http://m.facebook.com And then there is their beta site that is much easier to use than the real site. http://lite.facebook.com Note that you already have to have a facebook account for either of these sites to work. There are many blind people using facebook, but most of them use the mobile site. The only thing you don't get on the mobile site is the applications and games. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Aleeha Sent: Thursday, October 01, 2009 10:55 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] facebook accessibility Hi, I was just wondering if Facebook was accessible with JAWS 7. Re: [JAWS-Users] facebook accessibility
Facebook is, fundamentally, a web site, so probably most of the important features are accessible with JAWS 7 the same way they are with later versions. I've never used Facebook with JAWS 7, but you could try it and find out. Most of the features are accessed either by combo boxes, links, headings, or buttons. [JAWS-Users] FACEBOOK ACCESSIBILITY
I am not sure who was originally asking about facebook (FB), but my personal opinion about facebook I find it fairly easy to navigate however some of the applications are a little difficult or inaccessible. When sending friend request they often ask for an audio captias but it seems to be very clear on my end I also think during the registration process there is a captias not sure if it has an audio captias or not but I would say it does just guessing I just can't remember. I also want to mention that it has been said on here that m.facebook.com is accessible as well which I believe is the way that a cell phone user would access the site but it is also able to be accessed through the computer, the mobile site does limit what you can do on the site though. Feel free if anyone has any questions about facebook but not necessarily JAWS related to email me off list at lawdog...@comcast.net and I will try to help you out if I can.
