[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: .NET calling WebService

2005-05-11 Thread md5georg
Hello,

I have had similar problems earlier. The problem I had came from using a MS
tool that used the .Net 1.0 version. Confirm that you are using at least a .Net
1.1 version.

Also, there has been some discussions regarding interoperability with .Net
earlier in this forum, here are some links:

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: Microsoft .NET interop.

2005-04-25 Thread md5georg
Hello,

generate files yes did you try to get it to work? I could not inspect or
use any generated complex type on the .Net side (using VB 2003) when I tried in
middle March with RPC/literal. I think I used the .Net 2.1 version then.

I had to convert our RPC/literal to doc/literal to get the communication
going...

Further more, I have just learned (bitterly) that exceptions is thrown only
through a wrapped microsoft constructed SOAP exception on the .Net side. The
"real" exception's message is located inside this "new" exception. This means
that it is impossible to do a typed 'catch' on the client side! You are left
with error codes in the message. Very frustrating indeed...

you can get a 4.0.2 RC from here:

it is probably not the latest-greatest but it might help you with the problem.

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: Soap/document encoding tweeking

2005-04-21 Thread md5georg
Ok!

Since we have .Net on the client side (attatchments compatibility?) and only
one week left to acceptance test :) creating my own bulk message seams to be
the only solution.

It seams as the soap response includes all attribute values for the sent
objects instead of sending only changed (from default) values. This cloggs upp
the message with a lot of default or null values which stands for at least 80%
of the data... Very sad and very unnecessary spent cpu power.

Thanks for the tips!

Best regards,

Georg

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Soap/document encoding tweeking

2005-04-20 Thread md5georg
Hello,

In my current project we deliver through document literal style very large Soap
responses (up to 700kB). The creation of these documents takes a lot of cpu.

Is there any way of tweeking JBoss in the creational process of such a
document? Or is this hidden Axis stuff...? Is there any magical profiling that
can be set? Can a Soap response be partitionally pushed on the wire before it
is totaly finished?

(JBoss 4.0.2 RC1)

Georg

Hello,

I not sure what you are changing... the deployed wsdl? The one under
JBOSS_HOME/server/data/wsdl seams just to be a reflection of the services
you already have deployed. I dont think changes in that file have any effect.
Try setting "https:" before the WebServiceHost attribute in the

JBOSS_HOME/server/deploy/jboss-ws4ee.sar/META-INF/jboss-service.xml file
instead and re-deploy.

Just as Jason describes here:

Oh... I forgott. On the .Net side (if you are going to use that), in Visual
Studio 2003, you point out a WSDL file and the program takes care of the code
generation and compilation. You just use the generated classes and structures
directly... Very easy. I guess there is some similar tools for the java side as
well.

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: Education question - literal/encoded, RPC/Document

2005-04-05 Thread md5georg
Hello,

A month ago I asked the same question and I have spent quite some time digging
out the information needed to understand this also. The two best articles I
found are these

http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/xml/jaxrpcpatterns/

and

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwebsrv/html/rpc_literal.asp

The main differens between RPC and Document styles are that in RPC style all
objects that you send back and forth are predetermind by a descriptive schema
that lays elsewhere. In Document style, the object structure is included in the
WSDL, so you can describe whatever you want (it must still confirm to a schema,
but a more general).

For both RPC and Document style, you do not have to code any
serializer/deserialiser if you use objects that follows plain old java code and
Bean standards. Everything can be automatically produced with the wscompile
tool delivered with Sun's JWSDP 1.5. In that case you can swap between RPC and
Document very easy and with a minimal amout of changes in the client access
code (I have just done this in our web service since .Net does not support RPC
style). I guess there is more to it with Document style, more strengths you can
use, but my knowledge of that is at a minimum.

The links above describes the differences in more details. Hope this helps.

Best regards

Georg

Hello,

I am guessing you are using jboss 4.0.0 or 4.0.1sp1? In this case, it is a bug
and it is fixed in the 4.0.2RC1 which you can find here:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=22866&package_id=16942

If you can not, for legacy reason or you just do not want to use an RC :),
change to 4.0.2 you can implement an type mapping override with the correct
'result' in the ws4ee-deployment.xml descriptor as described here:

http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=WSTypeMapping

The easiest way of doing it is to copy the type mapping from an already
deployed wsdd file (JBOSS_HOME/server//data/wsdl//...), then change
the 'returnQName' as follows:

  | returnQName='result'
  |

This did resolve my problems.

Best regards,

Georg

You specify that by giving the "features" more arguments in the wscompile ant
task. Write:

features="wsi,documentliteral"

for document style and

features="wsi,rpcliteral" for rpc.

Here is a good link for more info regarding wscompile (both as ant task and
separate program):

Hello again,

thanks for all your effort!

I think I should mention that the WSDL file is generated from SEI's with
wscompile -f:documentliteral.

We have searched the generated .NET code but found no
"Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Qualified" (or "Unqualified").

Here is all code from the WSDL file that reflects the getBurro3 and its
response structure:

Can you see any problems with this WSDL snippet?

Something that strikes me as really odd is the usage of wscompile's -f:wsi
flag.
When reading about it on the jwsdp-1.5 tools side:

"The wscompile tool reads as input either a WSDL file, compiled service
endpoint interface (SEI), or model file. The Type of File column indicates
which of these files can be used with a particular feature."
Which is the last column.

"wsi", "enable WSI-Basic Profile features, to be used for document/literal and
rpc/literal", "WSDL"

so, here the WSDL file should be the input? ...but when reading on this page
(under "Solution"):

https://bpcatalog.dev.java.net/nonav/soa/dotnet-client/  (claimed Sun page)

it feals like -f:wsi is passed when creating the WSDL from SEI's.

Maybe you can sheed some light about this issue also?

Best regards,

Georg

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: 0 or null return values when .Net client accesses JBoss

2005-03-21 Thread md5georg
Hello,

thanks for the reply jasong!

I am very sorry... the included WSDL part was not correct. It should not
contain the "qualified" attributes should not be there. I did copy the part
from the wrong WSDL file. The correct WSDL should be like this (again, I am
sorry :)  :

  |
  | http://bullen.com/fleet/api";
xmlns:tns="http://bullen.com/fleet/api";
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
xmlns:ns2="http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";
xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/";
xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/";>
  |
  | http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
xmlns:soap11-enc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/";
xmlns:tns="http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";
xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/";
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";>
  |
  | ...
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

By the way, what does it mean, qualified/unqualified and how did you see that
the SOAP request was not qualified?

Best regards,

Georg

Ps. I tried even though to set them "unqualified" but then the client could not
even parse the WSDL file... Jikes! ds.

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - 0 or null return values when .Net client accesses JBoss webs

2005-03-21 Thread md5georg
Hello,

We are currently developing an api that is exposed through doc/literal
web service methods and our customers are going to use their own
developed .Net clients to access it. We are now testing this api from a .Net VB
client.

Connection and access between the client and server is now up and
running, and both complex types and primitive values are sent from the
.Net client to the server. On the way back though, no values for either
complex types or primitives are showing up at the client. It feels like the
client is unable to deserialize the client value.

I have searched the net for information about this and the only thing that
seams to fit this problem have something to do with qualified/unqualified
'form' attribute on the element description for the getBurro3Response...
but I can not find any information about this here on the JBoss forums.

If anyone have seen this problem before I would be grateful for any ideas
about what could be wrong.

(This post will also be posten in some Microsoft .Net forum, since I suspect
that it is a .Net client error)

Best regards,

Georg

I did read the wiki.

"Among the few valid reasons to use RPC style web services is, that you have an
interoperability issue. For example you want to provide/consume a service
to/from .NET."

http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=WSMessageEndpoints

Maybe this line should not be there...?

I have just switched from rpc/literal to doc/literal since there are problems

In which jboss release will this "new JBossWS implementation" occur?

2005-03-16 Thread md5georg
"already in beta" !?  :)

from Microsoft download site:

"File Name: dotnetfx.exe

Download Size: 24615 KB

Date Published: 7/27/2004

Version: 2.0"

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B7ADC595-717C-4EF7-817B-BDEFD6947019&displaylang=en

Will this ever come in non-beta state?

We are currently trying to implement a VB client for our RPC/literal
webservices without success. The development tool can download the WSDL and
show which services that exists in it but there ends all further access.

It does not seams to work to well... We will now be switching to doc/literal
instead.

I think this is a bit strange, since it feels like rpc/literal is just a subset
of doc/literal

I would be really happy if anyone out there have successfully implemented a VB
client accessing RPC/literal and could say something about it.

Best regards,

Georg

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Keeping operation names in WSDL

2005-03-11 Thread md5georg
Hello,

When generating the WSDL file from Java code, is there a way of keeping the
real names of the method arguments?

I have searched the Sun Web Service forums, but not found anything regarding
this. I can't see any arguments (or features) to the wscompile tool that seams
to handle this... And maybe there should not be any...

Best regards,

Georg

Nop, no response yet.

But there are a number of other bug reports regarding the '-mapping'

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Server custom exception not comming through to client

2005-02-17 Thread md5georg
Hello,

I am trying to understand why our custom exceptions are not propagated
correctly to the client side. I have looked at the jboss testsuite and that
looks real strait forward to me but when my implemenetation seams to do
something more... The problem is that an SOAPFaultException is thrown on the
client side instead of the service special exception.

(Localhost JUnit client accessing webservice exposed EJB in JBoss 4.0.1)

  | RPCjavax.xml.rpc.soap.SOAPFaultException
  |
  | at
com.sun.xml.rpc.client.StreamingSender._raiseFault(StreamingSender.java:478)
  | at
com.sun.xml.rpc.client.StreamingSender._send(StreamingSender.java:294)
  | at
com.bullen.fleet.api.webservices.exceptions.TacoBellService_Stub.orderBurrito(TacoBellService_Stub.java:71)
  | at
com.bullen.fleet.api.client.TestJFastFood.orderBurrito(TestJFastFood.java:60)
  | ...
  |

The SOAP response comming to the client is:

  |
  | http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/";
xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema";
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";>
  |
  |
  |soapenv:Client
  |hepp
  |
  |
  |  hupp
  |  hepp
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

Why does the get propageted to the client side at all?
We dont know where the client code has been assembled...! We should not know
that either. It would of course be good if it was like that but from what I
have seen no other transported data regards the package names anyway, the used
qname + classname should be sufficiant.

I guess that I would get a ClassNotFoundException if the LoginException class
could not be found?

The client/server/exception classes are similar to the testsuit classes.

One other strange thing is that the exception gets raised even on the server
side but the message does tell me so much...

  | 14:20:12,633 ERROR [ServiceEndpointInterceptor] Error from service
endpoint, processing fault handler chain

I would appriciate all ideas of sources to this failure or explanations of the
exception functionallity...

Best regards,

Georg

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: Prefixed namespace bindings may not be empty

2005-02-02 Thread md5georg
Hello,

finally I found the cause of the problem (thanks to the wsdd file searching). I
used two Xdoclet tags on the returned complexType object:

  | @wsee.jaxrpc-mapping
  |  root-type-qname="BurritoTO"
  |  namespace-uri="http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";
  |

Both these two tags messed up the jaxrpc-mappings.xml file so no wsdd files
could be generated. When the jaxrpc-mapping tag's where removed it deployed
well.

Thanks for all the help Thomas!

Best regards,

Georg HallingstrÃm

Ok... It looks like the Xdoclet tag (wsee.jaxrpc-mapping value: namespace-uri)
is not substituted correctly as it is described in the jaxrpc-mapping_xml.xdt.

I am able to generate a wsdd file if I manually change the value in the
jaxrpc-mapping file to the correct.

Hard coding the jaxrpc-mapping_xml.xdt to the correct value does little
though... I still do not get JBoss to generate any wsdd file(s?) and it still
gives me the "Prefixed namespace" exception.

By the way... I can only generate the wsdd file if I give the port name. With
no name given I get the following exception:

C:\temp\slask>java -classpath "jboss-ws4ee.jar;axis-ws4ee.jar;commons-discovery.
  |

Is this the correct behaviour?

Hello again,

the result from the WSDDGenerator:

The only file I have in the directory:

data/sedl/bullen.ear/api-webservices.jar

...is the wsdl file.

Hm... I guess that would be the wsdl file that I have included above...? That's
the only place I have seen the 'ns2' being used.

[JBoss-user] [JBossWS] - Re: Prefixed namespace bindings may not be empty

2005-02-01 Thread md5georg

Here are some more info about the above problem. I use JBoss 4.0.1.
wscompile features are wsi,rpcliteral,useonewayoperations

I generate all code directly from my EE beans with xdoclet tags and the custom
type get the following tag:

* @wsee.jaxrpc-mapping
  |  *   root-type-qname="BurritoTO"
  |  *  namespace-uri="http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";
  |

The generated jaxrpc-mapping file is as follows:

  |
  | http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee";
  |   xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance";
  |   xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee
  |   http://www.ibm.com/webservices/xsd/j2ee_jaxrpc_mapping_1_1.xsd";
  |   version="1.1">
  |
  |   com.bullen.fleet.api.webservices.ejb
  |   urn-com-bullen-fleet-api-webservices-ejb
  |
  |
  |   com.bullen.fleet.api.webservices.ejb.BurritoTO
  |
  | BurritoTO
  |
  |
  |   complexType
  |
  |
  |
  |
  |

...and the generated wsdl file is as follows...

  |
  | http://bullen.com/fleet/api";
xmlns:tns="http://bullen.com/fleet/api";
xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/";
xmlns:ns2="http://bullen.com/fleet/api/types";

Do I need a ws4ee-mapping.xml file for the returned custom type?

Best regards,
