My father has been admitted into the hospital due to high sugar. He has severe pain and numbness in his legs and other parts of his body. Please storm heaven with your prayers for him. And the sad part is that he has been admitted into a hospital in Mangalore where he happened to go just for a checkup. Right now there is nobody in the hospital to be with him. I had gone for it. I just want to testify what experience I got from that. I wanted to have a feeling that I had never got before. So, right from the first day I kept praying for that special feeling. The last day just before us leaving the place, father made 25 of us sit in a circle on chairs & the remaining of the 25 were standing beside us with hands over the ones on the chair. I was the one sitting on the chair. Hoping to recieve something. We all were praising aloud the name of jesus. I prayed with full faith not thinking of anything around me. Father, C.C.,Alex were moving about praying over us. Suddenly I could feel some type of cramps(the thing we usually get on our feet) on my nose & my lips. It was a funny thing.I never ever felt that before.I thought it was my hair onto my face.Then when father put his hand on my head I got that feeling on my hands & then on my whole body. It started increasing tremenduosly.I felt an electric shock . My god! It was ...I cannot express it.My hands ,legs & whole body fell weak . I was concious about everything around me but JUst too weak to stand or even open my eyes. Father came up to me and told me to sit in a corner. L! ater we stood up for praising again, I started feeling that feeling again It was so strong that I fell onto someone else on the ground flat. Then I got up with someones help and rested for a while. This is the first time in my whole life I ever felt such a thing before. Because of this retreat I have gained a lot spiritually. I thank all the people who have prayed for the success of this retreat, organisers and all the preachers who helped us . From sheila george. Dear friends in Christ, We are staying in a rental house and paying rent of about Rs. 2500/- Previously also we were staying in another rental house and there I had to pay 1650 + Electricity Rs. 300/-. The rental house is really a problem that whenever the owner says us to vacate we need to find another house and this will damage all the furniture and home appliances. Many of our good friends are advising us and we are also strongly feel that this is the right time that we should go for purchasing a new house. Then also I have to take a loan (i.e. the full amount of the house). When I inquired in the bank, I came to know that no bank will give the 100% amount of the house but may be 80% I am eligible to get. In that case I need to find out 20% of the house to buy that house. God has shown me a good house in the society where I am staying right now Please intercede for us so that we may find the necessary finance needed inorder to buy a house of our own. This is the time when the price is little down. It is very urgent. We believe that with Jesus youth warriors of God praying for us the lord will send us mighty help. Dear Friends, Jesus Youth is a powerful instrument to bring the people more closely to God as Mrs. Annie said in her previous mail. In my life Jesus Youth and joynet has a great role as both are helping me every day to become a perfect man in Christ. It was in 1990 I came to the Jesus Youth and from that time more or less I was very active in Jesus Youth. The incident that pulled me in to the renewal and Jesus Youth was a friend of my mine (a Jesus Youth) in my village (parish) who has got a strong faith and vision. In the starting stage I was not knowing about the Jesus Youth and it's way of life but when I got involved in this movement, it embraced me the way what I was and helped me to grow more and more in the spiritual and social life. I never thought of going away from the Jesus Youth, as I am very much addicted to Jesus Youth because of the members and the energetic leaders who are giving life to this movement. I am not boasting but I am proud of Jesus Youth because Jesus Youth and its members brought me more closer to Jesus and his unconditional love. In my life I can say Jesus Youth is very relevant for me and taught me the importance of proclaiming the Gospel through a witnessing life. Many a times the life witness of the members has become a challenge for me as their dedication and commitment in the Lord taught me the value of a true disciple of Christ. I know there are people who are very professional and educated, left their job and business for building up the Kingdom of God. Isn't it a challenge for me? I know there are people who decided and dedicated to take single life because of the intensity they got that the responsibility of a family life will demand more time and that affects in establishing the Kingdom of God. Isn't it a challenge for me? I know there are people allocating more than 10% of their income and valuable time in their busy schedule. Isn't it a challenge for me? When I was plucked from the land of this dedicated leaders and members, I lacked fellowship of these people very much and prayed to God and I believe that Joynet is a gift of God to be in touch with my family members and interact with them. i.e. Jesus Youth. Once there was a discussion on tithe among Hindu, Muslim and a Christian. The Christian friend told that we give 10% of our income to God every month without fail. And the Muslim friend told that we make a circle and we throw the money into that circle then whatever money goes in to that circle that we will give to God and the rest we will take. Then the Hindu friend told that we take all the income together in our hand and will look at God who is in heaven and throw it above and tell God that you take what ever you need and the rest you give it to me back. Then whatever comes down we will take. Dear friends what is our mentality / attitude when we give a part of our income to God's work? Will you be able to share such experience in your life that you felt that you would pay all your bills first and whatever money remains in your hand will be given to God's work? Otherwise, such times that you felt that I use this tithe for attending programs, retreats, going for the service team, etc and whatever money remains in my hand will be given to Gods work. Whenever I did it in the way that I mentioned above it was very obvious that the blessings I got in my life was very less and when I gave it to God with my full heart he blessed me abundantly from his richness. Let me share one of such experience to you that happened recently in my life. I was very generous to give my house for any activities of Jesus Youth even for the stay of 10 to 15 youth for one week also. But when I was asked to give my house for the stay of youth, who are coming for the Leaders program, I thought that I would not give it, as there are many problems of water, facilities, problems etc. Now I am in a condition that I need to vacate my house within 30 days and find another house on rental. This incident taught me a lesson that everything Lord gives us is to serve the lord. I also had the same experience, when I give Rs. 100 to God he gives me 1000 and if I give 1000 rupees to god He gives me 10,000 rupees or a thing equalent to that. I suggest all JY to give your thithe for the sake of evangelisation, so that you and your family will be blessed financially. I am 101% sure in this. Let us expect more sharings on this. Dear Friends, Do you really have financial problems. I am ready to help you all. But one condition, read the below passage carefully and try to put in practice. Thanks, Thomaskutty WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUTFINANCES? If we are having problems in the area of our finances, we need to examine God's Word as to what He says about finances and then line up with that Word. Are we handling our money wisely? True wisdom comes from God and the Bible has revelation about money problems as well as our other problems. So many people in our day are having financial problems. Even wealthy men are concerned they will lose their riches because of inflation and the worth of the dollar dropping daily. Stock markets around the world have been unstable. People are contemplating bankruptcy and even suicide due to such heavy money pressures. Many marriages are also under extreme stress and divorce has risen due to unresolved financial difficulties. Is there an answer to all the money problems? Yes, the Bible has the answer to this problem as well as all others that face mankind. Briefly, we are going to write down a basic financial check list based on the Word of God. On this list we are going to look at some things that can block our financial blessings. As Christians, we are promised the blessings of God, not the curses of the devil. The promise of prosperity and blessing belongs to us, not the curse of poverty and fear. Galatians 3:13-14 says, "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith." Genesis 17:1-7 says, "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee." >From these Scriptures we see we receive the same blessings as Abraham because we are >his seed. Therefore, our first step is to become a child of God, thus the seed of >Abraham and God. Then, Matthew 6:31-33 applies to us. "Therefore take no thought, >saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be >clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father >knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, >and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." We must give >our lives totally to God and seek His righteousness, then all the things that the >Gentiles (those in the world) are seeking will be added to us. What are the things >that those in the world are seeking? Clothes, houses, food, etc. A total commitment to God is the very first step to financial blessings. However, there are many Christians who still have not gained the victory in finances due to other principles in God's Word that have been ignored. Let's ask ourselves some questions that will bring us financial freedom if we are agreeing with the Word of God in these matters. A FINANCIAL CHECK LIST 1. Are we giving at least 10% to the work of God which is the tithe? (If not, we are using God's money, and robbing Him.) Malachi 3:10: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone." 2. Are we giving our tithe to the ministry where we are being fed? (Offerings, above the tithe, may be given to the poor, good works, etc. however, our tithe should go to the spreading of the gospel. Additional offerings also should be given to the church and it's five-fold ministries as listed in Ephesians 4:11; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.) 2 Corinthians 9:6-8: "But this

Thanks/Thomaskutty MESSAGE OF THE HOLY FATHER TO THE YOUTH OF THE WORLD ON THE OCCASION OF THE XVI WORLD YOUTH DAY If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Lk 9:23) My dear young people, 1. It is with great joy and affection that I keep this annual appointment with you, and as I write these words, my eyes and heart retain the evocative image of the great Gateway in the field at Tor Vergata in Rome. That evening of the 19 August last year at the start of the vigil of the 15th World Youth Day, hand in hand with five young people from the five continents, I crossed the threshold under the gaze of the crucified and risen Christ. In a way it was symbolic: I was entering into the third millennium accompanied by all of you Here I wish to express my most heartfelt gratitude to God for the gift of youthfulness that, through you, remains in the Church and the world (cf. Homily at Tor Vergata, 20 August 2000). I also wish to give God fervent thanks for allowing me to accompany the youth of the world for the last two decades of the century that has just ended, showing them the way that leads to Christ, the same yesterday and today and forever (Heb 13:8). But, at the same time, I thank God because the young people have accompanied and almost supported the Pope during his apostolic pilgrimages around the world. What was the 15th World Youth Day if not a special time to contemplate the mystery of the Word made flesh for our salvation? Was it not a wonderful occasion to celebrate and proclaim the faith of the Church, and to make plans for renewed Christian commitment, and together to focus on the world that is waiting to hear about the Word that saves? The true fruits of the Youth Jubilee can never be calculated by statistics, but only in works of love and justice, and in everyday faithfulness, so invaluable, yet often unseen. I have entrusted to you, dear young people, and especially to all those who took part in this memorable event, the task of offering the world this consistent evangelical witness. 2. Enriched by this wonderful experience, you returned to your homes and daily lives, and now you are preparing to celebrate the 16th World Youth Day with your pastors in your dioceses. For this occasion, I invite you to reflect on the conditions that Jesus asked of those who wanted to be his disciples: If anyone wishes to come after me, he said, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me(Lk 9:23). Jesus is not a Messiah of triumph and power. In fact, he did not free Israel from Roman rule and he never assured it of political glory. As a true Servant of the Lord, he carried out his mission in solidarity, in service, and in the humiliation of death. He is the Messiah who did not fit into any mould and who came without fanfare, and who cannot be understood with the logic of success and power, the kind of logic often used by the world to verify its projects and actions. Having come to carry out the will of the Father, Jesus remained faithful to it right to the end. He thus carried out his mission of salvation for all those who believe in him and love him, not in word, but in deed. Love is the condition for following him, but it is sacrifice that is the proof of that love (cf. Apostolic Letter Salvifici doloris, 17-18). 3. If anyone wishes to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me (Lk 9:23). These words denote the radicality of a choice that does not allow for hesitation or second thoughts. It is a demanding requirement that unsettled even the disciples and that, throughout the ages, has held back many men and women from following Christ. But precisely this radicality has also produced admirable examples of sanctity and martyrdom that strengthened and confirmed the way of the Church. Even today these words are regarded as a stumbling block and folly (cf. 1 Cor 1: 22-25). Yet they must be faced, because the path outlined by God for his Son is the path to be undertaken by the disciple who has decided to follow Jesus. There are not two paths, but only one: the one trodden by the Master. The disciple cannot invent a different way. Jesus walks ahead of his followers and asks each one to do as he himself has done. He says: I have not come to be served, but to serve; so, whoever wants to be like me must be the servant of everyone. I have come to you as one who possesses nothing; for this reason, I can ask you to leave all riches behind which prevent you from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. I accept denial and rejection by most of my people; therefore I can ask you to accept denial and opposition from wherever it comes. In other words, Jesus asks that we courageously choose the same path. We have to choose it from our hearts, because external situations do not
