[kdeconnect] [Bug 419617] kdeconnect: Truncated data in UDP packet

2020-04-03 Thread Keith Owens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419617

The tcpdump of the phone starting is slightly different. Both have truncated
data but the UDP length from the phone is larger than the packet size. The
phone sends a second UDP packet containing the rest of the data, this seems to
trigger the laptop into starting a TCP session.

> if I use Firefox to open up files
Does that mean after downloading an image file in Firefox, you click on (open)
the file in Firefox's internal download manager and it opens in a new
(separate) Firefox window/tab?

(If you explicitly use CTRL-O (or File > Open...) in Firefox to open the image,
then it will be displayed in Firefox, which is expected.)

By the way, have you tried using a fresh Firefox profile (i.e. all Firefox
settings reset to default, all extensions disabled) to see if the problem
persists?

Note: After providing the information, the status can be changed to "REPORTED"
(but not "NEEDSINFO FIXED").

[lattedock] [Bug 419619] Panel background starts tiling/tearing under the "Plasma" color theme.

2020-04-03 Thread Jonathan Chun
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419619

Looks like with any plasmoid added, to the panel that can expand, such as Event
Calendar or most time/date related ones, when you click on them to expand it,
the entire panel changes color back to the same tiling pattern as you see in
the reference screenshot.

I'm unsure of whether the problem is in Latte Dock or in the plasmoids I'm
using, but it seems to be consistent across multiple plasmoids. I've also tried
using it without the grouping plasmoid with the same result.

It uses "Always Ask". If I open the drop down, the options were "System

It returns org.kde.gwenview.desktop, but I'm assuming it's because I changed
the mimeinfo.cache manually.

Yes, you are right. If we set to not showing this progress indicator, the only
way to switch it back is to modify the config file.

> Maybe the settings should be available on a hotkey, so then persistent

Configure it in a hotkey is doable. However, it could be a little bit confusing
for some users, since everyone tends to not looking for a hotkey to solve the
problem when the progress indication disappears. Therefore, I am not sure it's
a good idea to put it in a hotkey.

How about we do it otherwise, by using a hotkey to hide the progress bar? Then
it will never appear again until the hotkey is repressed.

[kdenlive] [Bug 419612] New: Set video speed to take a specific time rather than scale to a specific percentage

2020-04-03 Thread Stuart Langridge
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419612

Bug ID: 419612
Summary: Set video speed to take a specific time rather than
scale to a specific percentage
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Effects & Transitions
  Assignee: vpi...@kde.org
  Reporter: sil-...@kryogenix.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Kdenlive allows me to change the speed of a video to a percentage of its normal
playback speed. However, I quite often would like to change a video clip, not
to be 85% of its current speed, but so that it takes the same amount of time as
another clip: that is, to make that change visually rather than by numbers. It
would be very useful to allow changing a video's speed by dragging it out on
the timeline so that I can visually set it to take a certain time to play back.
Without this, I have to iteratively guess at percentages by doing a sort of
mental version of binary search: let's try setting it to 60%, no, that's too
short, hit Undo, try 70%, no, that's too long, Undo, try 65%, too long, Undo,
63%, too short, Undo, 64%, that seems about right. It would be much nicer to be
able to drag the video clip to the right length and have the computer do the
mathematics to calculate exactly the speed change.

Okay, I've upgraded to 0.9.85 using the "Rick Mills" repo, but I'm still
similar behavior. Although, now it seems that the freezing and unresponsiveness
is a little less, it's still there.

Again, this is ONLY when VSCode is open. Once I close VSCode, the issue is
IMMEDIATELY resolved. And to repeat, I only see this behavior in Latte. KDE
docks and other programs are not effected.

Toupcam Snapshot Freeze

SUMMARY
Hello Jasem,

i am new to this awesome software. I am trying to learn it, but it seems that
is not possible for me to go ahead; i own a Toupcam G3CMOS16000KPA(Panasonic
Sensor). While i try to take a shot, sometimes it goes well, most of the times
it get stuck on "shooting", without download the preview image. This also
happens when i try to focus, if i switch from "guide camera(qhy)" , to toupcam,
or vice versa, the first camera takes the image, then it freeze. I've tried
almost all possible configutations in the Indi control panel, without results.
It also seems that "black level/offset" is missing as a setting, i can only try
to black balance, without results.

Apologize if this is a bad or useless report, i am new to this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect Device
2. Try to take captures with Toupcam
3. Switch to guide camera, or maybe try to preview and take a picture.

[lattedock] [Bug 419610] New: Attempting to activate entries for which there is no widget creates crash

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com

SUMMARY
When I accidentally used the shortcut Meta+V (pastebin shortcut on Windows) -
which by default is the "Activates entry 14" in Latte Dock, I noticed the
program consistently froze.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use an entry shortcut higher than the amount of items/widgets on the dock;
for example, if there is a launcher and 3 tasks, use the shortcut for
activating entry 5 or above. The easiest one should be Meta+. which activates
entry 19.

OBSERVED RESULT
The docks should freeze, as should any shortcuts associated with their widgets.

EXPECTED RESULT
I expect the shortcut should simply not work. But in any case, it should not
freeze or crash.

I hope you read the content of the bug you are referencing, everything is
explained there.
To be exact:
- Window manager can do this job
- We would need to emulate / simulate (?) the window behaviour and so on and it
is a lot of needles work.
I read there will be some improvement in Qt 5.15 regarding this issue, but I
believe it still not an one click solution.

I realize you said 0.8.9 is not supported. But for full disclosure, the issue
remains in 0.8.9.

I'll try the Rick Mills ppa later and see if it's resolved in 0.9.x

[konqueror] [Bug 373824] Konqueror 16.12 is missing the sidebar

2020-04-03 Thread Raphael Rosch
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373824

Hi DePitte, you have a couple of options.

One (and the simplest one) is to edit sidebar/tree_module/tree_module.h:41 to
comment out that line. The result will be that you don't have the root node,
but it should compile. (What version of KF5 are you running? KDirModel should
have openUrl no matter what, not sure why you are getting that error).

The other option is to patch your KF5-KIO with
https://phabricator.kde.org/D25315. I'm using Fedora 30's KF5 version 5.64. Not
sure how to do it in SuSE, but I think building an rpm is pretty much the same
as in Fedora, right? (Basically you install the src rpm --as a regular user--
for the version you have, then edit the .spec file to include the two lines to
patch the source, and a line to increase the revision of the package, to avoid
file conflicts. Drop the patch in ~/rpmbuild/SOURCES, and run rpmbuild with the
appropriate options. Then you install the new rpms and rebuild konq. Let me
know if you need help with that. Feel free to email me directly, so we don't
fill up everyone else's mailboxes with this.)

You don't really need to patch Qt to check out the new code, but there are some
bugs that have since been fixed that improve stability and usability (at least
for me).

I agree this would be an essential feature for me to switch to Falkon as my
main browser (which I really would like to do).

The benefits of this are two-fold:
1. It gives you more screen space for content.
2. It allows you to place tabs at the top screen-edge. This allows much easier
and faster tab switching with the mouse pointer as per Fitt's Law. You do not
have to think about the vertical axis when moving the pointer to select a tab,
just throwing the mouse to the top, hence allowing faster tab selection. (I
filed a separate bug 419608 for other controls within Falkon which do not take
advantage of Fitt's Law)

[Falkon] [Bug 419608] New: Make controls work at the screen edges - enable benefits of Fitt's Law

2020-04-03 Thread Paul M
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419608

Bug ID: 419608
Summary: Make controls work at the screen edges - enable
benefits of Fitt's Law
   Product: Falkon
   Version: 3.0.1
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: k...@paulmcauley.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In a maximized window, numerous controls in Falkon do not work at the screen
edge. Namely by default:
- Back Button
- Menu Button
- Scroll Bars (actually, these do work - this initially was not working for me
is probably related to bug 387775 )

Fitt's Law states that because the screen edges are "infinitely" large click
targets, then they are very easy to reach with the mouse pointer. Positioning
the browser's controls at the screen edges therefore allows faster mouse
interactions with these controls.

In addition, tabs in the title bar (as per bug 395859), would also allow the
tabs to be accessible at the screen edge and hence faster mouse navigation.

Does it help if you revert the last glibc update?
E.g. YaST->Software Management, search for glibc, click on "Versions" and
install an older one.

I did notice some openSUSE bugreports about crashes after the last update in
Leap 15.1 (GNOME related, but still).
I.e. it might be a downstream issue.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a widget that supports custom icons to latte dock
2. Set latte dock Appearance tab theme -> Reverse
3. The custom icons look like this attachment.

OBSERVED RESULT
the icons go all white

EXPECTED RESULT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is the latest master branch of latte-dock built from source. I am not 100%
sure whether the problem is latte-dock or the plasmoids, but I have tested 3
different plasmoids that support custom icons (custom user switcher, launchpad
plasma, and application dashboard. I've also tested that it is not my icon pack
having issues and tried setting it to some arbitrary icons from the Breeze icon
pack, and they all have the same problem.

[kdenlive] [Bug 419603] Crash when loading multiple videos in an empty project

2020-04-03 Thread Jean-Baptiste Mardelle
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419603

I did not manage to reproduce. However the cause for this is probably in the
handling of jobs in jobmanager.cpp/ipp.

All MLT objects in a project share a same shared pointer to an MLT::Profile.
This Mlt profile holds the project basic infos like frame size, aspect ratio
(sar/dar), fps, color space, etc.

On profile change, we do stop all ongoing jobs, then reset the profile and
reload the clips. From the log it seems a thumbnail job on one of the clip is
not stopped when the profile is reset, leading to a crash when MLT tries to
compute data based on the profile.

When I try it I get the "same" (apart from language) url and it works just
fine.
There should be no post data for this search engine, the url is enough.
The '%s' will be replaced by your search string.

You can also try and add custom search engines by clicking on input field in a

with "query=%s=web=english" in the field just below (named
"Données de Post", I guess it should be "Post datas" in english ?)

In the meantime, an "add Qwant" line appeared in the search menu when I'm on
the Qwant page, so I used it and it has been added to the list with a queue to
the url :
https://www.qwant.com/?q=%s=opensearch
Now it works fine.

The "add" line doesn't show up in the list when I'm on the Bing page
I added "?q=essai=opensearch" to the line in the menu and now it works
well too.

On the StartPage page, the "add StartPage" appears. It records the url
https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=%s=web=opensearch=francais
but that doesn't work.
I tried to switch it with
https://www.startpage.com/q=%s=opensearch
but it doesn't work either.

[kdenlive] [Bug 419603] New: Crash when loading multiple videos in an empty project

2020-04-03 Thread Simon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419603

Bug ID: 419603

  Platform: Compiled Sources

Variables for the stack trace

SUMMARY

When I open Kdenlive and add 5 videos, it asks me if I want to update the
project profile while it already starts generating thumbnails. I click yes (so
it changes to 1920x1050, 60 fps) and Kdenlive crashes.

The stack trace is below, the variables are in the attached file. The reason
seems to be that
> double consumer_aspect = mlt_profile_sar( mlt_service_profile(
> MLT_FILTER_SERVICE( filter ) ) );
returns NaN and then breaks the following computation, yielding SIGFPE.

Screenshot of my setup. KDE dock at top, Latte on left

SUMMARY
Latte 0.7.4 with VSCode 1.43.2

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Latte Dock running on left side, 1 KDE panel at top hosting system tray and
clock, 4 virtual desktops.
2. open VSCode,
3. Switching virtual desktops seems to initiate this behavior, as well as
starting additional applications, like Calc
4. The animations of Latte and response become slowed by at least 2 seconds,
sometimes even longer.
5. After closing VSCode, Latte immediately begins acting as expected without
delays.

OBSERVED RESULT
Latte does not respond for several seconds after #3, CPU heats up and fans come
on.

EXPECTED RESULT
No delays in animations or response.

I see that solution could work (Though I can't get it to). Would an alternative

SUMMARY
Currently, the Grouping Plasmoid doesn't allow for custom thickness margins of
the widgets it contains. I was told here
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419569) that this the responsibility of
the plasmoid and not the container.

In CSS terms, I guess the plasmoid philosophy is to add padding and containers
don't have the option to force margins?

Please see attached screenshot for what I'm referring to. Most of the widgets
I've tried look really bad and about to spill over outside the grouping
plasmoid, but they would look perfect if they were forced inside with
configurable margins.

[gwenview] [Bug 419600] New: Gwenview slow when opening images from symlinked folders

2020-04-03 Thread Matteo Mazzarelli
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419600

Bug ID: 419600
Summary: Gwenview slow when opening images from symlinked
folders
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: matteo.mazzare...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Gwenview takes c.a 15 seconds to open any image in a symlinked folder (e.g.
Downloads, Documents) if the application runs with the %U argument (it's on by
default on Manjaro). Deleting the %U argument fixes all the issues I have with
Gwenview.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1a. Open an image using Gwenview from the Dolphin file manager in a symlinked
folder.
1b. Alternatively, open Gwenview from the Plasma start menu.

OBSERVED RESULT
Gwenview doesn't respond for c.a 15 seconds when opening an image from the
symlinked directory.

EXPECTED RESULT
Gwenview should open almost immediately. This is what in fact happens when
removing the %U argument on my machine.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.14.1
Kernel Version: 5.4.28-1-MANJARO
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 5,7 GiB

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I did also encounter the exact same bug running Kubuntu 19.10, but have only
now managed to fix it by removing the %U argument from the exec command.

[ksysguard] [Bug 419598] New: Ksysguard shows wrong CPU frequency from Ryzen 7 3700X

2020-04-03 Thread Andre Dierker
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419598

Bug ID: 419598
Summary: Ksysguard shows wrong CPU frequency from Ryzen 7 3700X
   Product: ksysguard
   Version: 5.17.5
  Platform: RedHat RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: an...@6bq.de
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Ksysguard shows wrong CPU frequency from Ryzen 7 3700X

OBSERVED RESULT
Because Ksysguard reads the CPU speed from /proc/cpuinfo, the maximum frequency
is always displayed. Wich makes this sensor useless. I'm not sure

If Ksysguard would read the frequency from
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufreq/cpuinfo_cur_freq
it would display correct values, and at the same time the average values would
be displayed as nice integers.

EXPECTED RESULT
Correct values for CPU frequencies
