[digikam] [Bug 385726] Add Support For Apple Live Photos (HEIF)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385726 --- Comment #26 from Glassed Silver --- Thank you so much for your input. I wasn't trying to advocate for a work-around, I was just trying to make sense of why you're optimistic, since this seems like it could go either way over at that project. At least from what I read regarding the potential legal implications. I gave the OP post a thumbs up, I guess that's what you meant by voting for it. Again thank you so much and I'll just adopt your hopefulness and anticipate the release, hopefully with CR3 and HEIC metadata support. I guess one way or another a way has to be found either way eventually, so if I don't completely misinterpret this, if the feature doesn't make it into 7.0, hope wouldn't be completely lost? Cheers! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 385726] Add Support For Apple Live Photos (HEIF)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385726 --- Comment #25 from caulier.gil...@gmail.com --- digiKam already rely on Exiv2 to all file format metadata support. There is no exception for HEIF and CR3. We need to still homogeneous and not to make a big puzzle. I'm fighting against this idea since a while, as digiKam is already a big application with many external dependencies. There is no work around planed until July release... If you want to see a better HEIF/CR3 support in the future, go to Exiv2 project from github and vote to implement metadata support for these format. [kate] [Bug 411165] Make GoTo line work backward
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411165 --- Comment #1 from Nazar Kalinowski --- I might be interested in implementing this, but there is a (design) problem. The spinbox that is used to handle the input for a line number to go to currently has a limit of [1; lastline]. In order to implement this feature we will have to make it [-lastline; lastline] (e.g. from negative to positive). The problem with that is that 0 is allowed now, and we will have to decide what to do if 0 is selected. I see two options: 1. Go to 1 line (which is bad because "goto 1" and "goto 0" are now the same things, which is confusing). 2. Display some error (which is also bad, because we allow to choose 0 in the spinbox when it's actually an error condition). Thoughts on this? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krusader] [Bug 392133] Huge memory consumption while doing nothing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392133 Ivo Smelhaus changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ismelh...@ksat.cz --- Comment #29 from Ivo Smelhaus --- I can confirm the same or similar behavior during last year, when I use krusader every day. In my case Kubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 (Phenom II X4 + 16GB + 500G SSD ext4 + 2x 1T HDD zfs) and Krusader from packages and sources 2.7.2 and git without noticeable change. No changes correlated to work with or without archive and/or remote filesystem. Just leaving it with few tabs pointing to local directories overnight brings the same effect. Dolphin never caused any problem in the same circumstances. So from user point of view: 1. Start Krusader - work perfect and very fast - MEM 380/120M (RES/VIRT acc htop) 2. leave it without touch overnight 3. Reaction to every mouse movement in seconds and even writing to internal console has a lag - MEM 4600M/4300M 4. Stop and start Krusader and get to state 1. :-) If I can help you finding the cause, let me know. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
