Hi guys and gals;

Somebody recently had a link to pictures of a re-covered Fisher FP-202 on
the net but I wasn't able to find it in the archives, anyone remember who it
was? He wanted to sell it and finish his KR-2.

This coming weekend is also the South West Regional Fly In, also known as
Copperstate at Casa Grande, AZ. I'll be there in my KR. If Lee has his

for sure going to make it. ?Mark I might bring my crank for you to look at and
see if it is a candidate for use.? Also, I bought a safety shaft from someone
but have not received it yet.? If I go with the new 5 th bearing do I still
need it? I also have a new prop hub can I still use it?

Hey Steve. If you're coming to Biloxi, Think about stopping in, if your
coming back to pick the wife up, perhaps we can pool it and split the gas
costs. If nothing else, you can be the first netter to come see N1333A

KR> RE: Revflow carb for 1835 VW

2008-10-20 Thread Joe Beyer
I have a 29mm Posa Super Carb. On my 1641cc VW and have a similar situation.
When I adjust the linkage so the slide opens all the way the engine quits. I
have the throttle stop set so when the maximum rpm is reached the slide is
about 90% open. Once I tried to adjust it out so I could get wide open
throttle by changing the needle to a more rich setting. On take off when I
was climbing out and had ram air the engine lost power and only regained
power when I came back on the throttle. I flew the pattern and landed, then
put the old needle back in and reset the throttle stop back to 90%. It works
well now the way it is.

Joe,

What you did is exactly what the manufacturer of my AeroCarb said to do
concerning setting a wide open stop a little bit short of wide open.

If the crank can be turned down .010" (maybe .020") and is an 8409 and it
passes magnafluxing, it will probably work. Nice jouranl radii are a plus,
but if it's not turned yet, that's moot because they could get ruined during
the grinding if the grinder isn't careful. That's a lot of weight to be
carrying around an airshow! The crank grinder is probably the guy to ask if
it'll work, but make sure the guy you take it to is quite aware that you
want the journal radii to be as large as possible.

If your cowling's not built yet, I don't see a problem with the prop hub
length because it'll just put your prop a little further out in front of the
plane (a good thing from a streamlining standpoint). I'd think the safety
shaft length could change, but that would depend on whose fifth bearing
setup you're talking about. I can't answer that one for Roy's or Dan's.
Mark Jones or Joe Horton could tell you about Dan's, or it might be located
on Dan's website at http://www.fly5thbearing.com/5thbearing.html .

My KR-2 with Revmaster 2100D uses the Revflow carb with tappered mixture
needle has to manufactured/matched to the engine displacement. When I
changed to the new heavy duty big valve heads I had to have Joe at Revmaster
send me a new needle. He may be able to help you with the POSA.

2008-10-20 Thread P. Shows
Thanks for all the answers on ringing my cranks. Here
is what I did.
1. Screwed the bolt holding the harmonic balancer
back into the threads by fingers, harmonic balancer
removed.
2. Suspended the crank by cord on the bolt and tapped
with a hammer. Thud
3. At the suggestion of someone I suspended it with
wire, ring.
4. Suspended the crank by stiff wire through a bolt
hole on the transmission end, tap lightly with a
hammer, RING!!!, for a good 30 seconds. How
sweet the sound.
Thanks guys, again I am amazed at the knowledge
that flows here.
