Re: [libreoffice-l10n] what means "format program" in this context ?
Hi Cristi, LibreLogo is built-in. Check View - Toolbars - Logo in Writer. The description of "magic wand" icon from Help: Program editor/Syntax highlighting/Translating The “magic wand” icon sets 2-page layout for program editing, expands and converts to uppercase the abbreviated, lowercase Logo commands in the Writer document. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Mistakes in source strings
Hi Annabelle, I think you are right, the rules are laid down in UX Guidelines, cf. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Guidelines/UIWriting However, LibreOffice is a huge project and you cannot expect that every UI string (some were added 20+ years ago) complies. I'm not a big fan of cosmetic changes, because they create work for translators. But I'm not in charge and would not oppose such patches from contributors. Hello Annabelle, "Macro From" is correct, i.e. the library where the macro comes from. You are right about the second issue, LibreOffice vs. %PRODUCTNAME, and it has been already fixed in later versions. Usually we do not backport English string fixes for minor issues like this, in order not to break existing translations. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Question re: Hungarian website
Hi Mike, I get this question quite often. :-/ The URL was generated by SilverStripe, from the title of the page, which is Letöltés (Download). SilverStripe transliterated letter ö to oe, as per German rules. Google search for "LibreOffice letöltés" gives this URL in the 1st place for me. How can this be improved SEO-wise? But in general, I don't care. You can change it. Of course, old URL should be kept, in order not to break existing links. Otherwise, users can always install extensions themselves. 2) Basically if you submit .dic and .aff files, our point us to your upstream repository, we can take the files from there. 3) LibreOffice bugfix releases come ~every month. More frequent updates probably make little sense. 4) We prefer submission through gerrit. For the internal dictionaries, the situation is different case by case. Sometimes the dictionary has an upstream repository, and maintainer send patch to LibreOffice or ask a developer to create a patch based on a new release. In other cases the dictionary was committed once and it is unmaintained in LibreOffice. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Online instance to check your translation
Hi, "Always follow the editor" -- it is a feature, that you can follow the cursor of the person, who edits the document. For example when there is a meeting, participants can follow the minute keeper. Thanks for testing. Menus will be localized in the next drop, but localization of dialogs is more difficult. Re: [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Online instance to check your translation
Hi Rhos, This is embarrassing, but it seems that Nextcloud does not have Welsh localization, while ownCloud has (on demo.collaboracloudsuite.com). I found cy_GB files in the settings/l10n/ folder of Nextcloud, so in theory the Welsh language should be selectable at Settings. Maybe it's a Nextcloud bug. I'm sorry about that. LO Online has the Welsh localization, but you cannot switch to that currently. I hope that the situation will improve after some time, this is a bleeding edge test server with latest versions of all components (Nextcloud, LibreOffice, LibreOffice Online). A few new messages were added recently, could you please do an update again from master: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/online/plain/loleaflet/po/templates/loleaflet-ui.pot I don't know why, but something went wrong with the help translations in Pootle (loleaflet-help.po). The help text has not been changed since May, but half of the translations became fuzzy. [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Online translations
Dear Translators, LibreOffice Online pot files were finally updated in Pootle. If you have little time, please ignore help file, because it has not changed since May, 2016, and I have no idea why the half of it became fuzzy after the update. Also, in UI you can ignore the endless list of Unicode ranges, which is from the Insert Special Character dialog. If we don't take these two things into account, then the update is minimal. Of course, if you have time, feel free to click through the fuzzies. [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Online update in Pootle
Hello translators, After a long time, pot files of LibreOffice Online were updated in Pootle. There are a few new UI strings to translate. (The pot file is also downloadable from git: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/online/plain/loleaflet/po/templates/loleaflet-ui.pot ) If you have any questions about the meaning of any new string, just ask me. I'm working on a solution of testing translations in the running product. Stay tuned. There are unlimitied possibilities to integrate LibreOffice Online with any web application. Think about LibreOffice Online as a component, not as a standalone application. It is up to the integrator, how to use localizations of LibreOffice Online. It is not restricted by any means at LibreOffice Online's side in theory. I mean, surely the > interface would only offer LO Online in locales which actually have > translations? > Have you tried LO Online? Of course you can build and install it yourself, but probably it is easier to try the CODE VM ( https://www.collaboraoffice.com/code/). In CODE VM LO Online is integrated with ownCloud. ownCloud provides the cloud storage backend for LO Online, in this case. So, with my patch, it will be possible to use the language that the user set in ownCloud. I think it makes a lot of sense. In this case, language selection is in ownCloud settings. Loading the LO Online iframe with the lang parameter gives the chance to integrators to change the UI language. Note: it does not work in CODE VM at the moment, it will get this update later. Naturally, localized LO Online is only possible, if the strings are translated. Incomplete translations will result in mixed English/localized UI, just like in desktop LO. It it's missing, the Accept-Language header will be used, which is sent by the browser. The problem with this approach, that if user asks for a localization in the 'lang' parameter, that is not present, then the UI will fall back to English, and not to the next preferred language in the Accept-Language header. Nobody told that it won't be available before RC5. Wiki says "The shortcodes will be localized for the final version of LibreOffice 5.0" -- which means that it is targetted for 5.0, the earlier RC is the better. It is not a question of enabling something. The code that merges translations is yet to be written. It simply does not exist at the moment.
