Think Farke said Willy wasn’t 100%.

Agree on Gruev. 4-1-4-1 was our undoing in the end.

Harsh. Yes he had a really bad game today but over the last few weeks, when
we’ve looked shit, he’s been the only one who looks like he can still make
things happen. In fact, it must be difficult for him when our main tactic is to
give the ball to him and ask him to beat 2 or 3 men consistently.I think if
you’re looking for disappointing players you’ve got to look at Piroe, who
offered nothing as a no 9 and I’d offload him now or Bamford (and I was a fan)
who came on and did nothing other than look for a pen. Or Rutter, who looked
like a world beater a month ago , but now looks like a non-league trier. I was
actually starting to think that this guy was another Cantona but what’s
happened? You can’t blame it on the operation because it started before then -
he was awful against Town. Maybe it’s an injury ? Not sure but he’s not worth
his place in the team at the moment.Very disappointing today, I couldn’t even
stay out for drinks I was that pissed off. Farke’s substitutions were
mystifying and totally messed with our rythmn. How can you take out 2 best
players off - Gnonto and Gruev ? Were they both struggling? Didn’t look like it
to me.You don’t get more Leeds than today. Can’t see us winning another game -
I put that in to make me look like a cunt when we get promoted !
Chateauneuf-du-Pape tonight - got to cheer yourself somehow on days like this.

[LU] Blackburn

2024-04-13 Thread nattan--- via Leedslist
An absolute sickener. Unlike Tuesday when we were awful, we actually played
pretty well for the most, really took the game to them and did everything but
score The result was a real smash and grab.We just lacked quality with the
final ball and that little bit of luck, Gnonto not quite reaching a cross (
think Gazza v Germany) , their keeper making a great save and the ball bouncing
back to him, a decent penalty shout for a foul on Bamford  and other half
chances. The pressure is getting to all the top 3.We are not dead yet but
somehow things have to change and quickly
DF did what a lot of fans wanted,  bringing in Piroe for Bamford and putting
Archie in midfield,. Neither really worked - Piroe didnt have any real scoring
opportunities and Gray looked lost ( he also looked tired)
Dallas got a grest reception in the half time interval
Blackburns anti football, time wasting par excellence,  abetted by an
ineffective referee ( just let them delay every throw in and dead ball, and
added one minute, one fucking minute ! first half - scandalous,  won the day
Can't be bothered to write more - i am so dejected
Ipswich not winning either means we are not quite done yet but it feels like
the play offs

2024-04-13 Thread Simon McNally via Leedslist
I’ve got mates who support Ipswich and Leicester.
They’re both as terrified as we are.
The Ipswich one reckons they are out on their feet and the Leicester one thinks
their heads have gone.
I guess the worry for us is the loss of our better players.
I suspect though that we won’t be under pressure to sell for less than market
value like in the past.

[LU] Scared?

2024-04-13 Thread Ed Morrish
I was talking to an Ipswich mate, and my general assessment of them is they’ve
had an amazing season, but if they go up they’ll get battered every week - they
simply won’t score enough goals against PL defences. His response was that if
they didn’t go up, he was scared that they’d lose McKenna (presumably to West
Han or Brighton, if vacancies arrive).

So what are we scared of, if we don’t go up? I think we see the breakup of this
team, and that’s worries me. It’s not like Bielsa’s first season, where we kept
the team we had. We WILL lose - have to lose, financially - players like
Gnonto, Cree and Rutter. Maybe not Archie this year, but DF would be starting
from scratch and you never really know how a player is going to bed in, and if
that causes the same disruption in September that the comings and goings caused
last September, we could find ourselves chasing the pack once again.

I just hope that we’ve done some work on the outcasts - what happens to
Harrison, Aaronson, Rasmus et al - if we are still an EFL team next year…

Ed.

[LU] Susan Calman’s Great British Cities - LEEDS

2024-04-13 Thread John Lee via Leedslist
I rarely watch Channel 5, but episode 5 of Susan Calman’s Great British Cities
is about Leeds and is actually really good - recommended for those who’d like
to know a bit more about Leeds!
