Re: [LegacyUG] Ancestor Book Report problem

2007-02-16 Thread marilyn cebrowski
are you actually adding an ancestrial "book report" to your publishing
group? or is it an ancestor "report" ? when you are doing the "book" after
you highlight it, a screen comes up with two choices at the bottom: change
person... or edit settings... Go to the EDIT Settings. when that screen
comes up there are file "tabs " at the top go to the thrid one "HEADING
LAYOUT" then you can type in the name that the program is printing. When i
did it the first time , i got a different name written on my report, but the
report was for the "correct person" only i had to go in and re-write the
name. Don't know if this is any help, I am learning how to do the
publishing center and kept having the wrong name showing up on printed lists
even though the correct data was on it.

No, in my case, each section of the book I'm publishing should be for
Fisher A. Deming. I should have 'The Pedigree of Fisher A. Deming' (I
don't have the problem you're seeing as my pedigree is only one page), 'The
Ancestors of Fisher A. Deming' and 'The Descendants of Fisher A. Deming.
But for some reason, my ancestor report, though all the proper data is
included, it is being titled "The Ancestors of Rufus Presley", while Rufus
Presley isn't associated with this report in any way.
He was my default individual, where the program opened every time I
launched it, but I have since changed that to be Fisher Deming, yet the
report still gets titled with Rufus' name every time I generate it. The
ancestor report generates fine if I do it by itself, it only gets
mis-titled

when I generate it as a part of a book in the Publishing Center.

I'm afraid I have no further suggestions, Jason. As promised I did the same
as yourself this morning using myself as the start person. The Ancetor Book
started with myself, The Descendant Report with my father.

Ok, I ran the check/repair and the set relationships (for both Rufus and
Fisher), but had no luck.
However, I did manage to fix it I ran the ancestor book as it's own
report from scratch, set everything the way I wanted it, previewed it and
saved it. Then I re-opened my book under the Publishing center, deleted
the

Ancestor book report, saved the book and closedLegacy (just to be sure).
Lastly, I re-launched Legacy, loaded my book in the publishing center,
re-added the ancestor book report, edited it to load my previously saved
and

working stand-alone ancestor book report and previewed the whole thing.
THIS time it the correct title showed up on all reports within the book.

A very round-about road to get there, but everything looks good now with no
errant names.

Re: [LegacyUG] Ancestor Book Report problem

2007-02-15 Thread Jason Presley

The
ancestor report generates fine if I do it by itself, it only gets mis-titled
when I generate it as a part of a book in the Publishing Center.

[LegacyUG] Ancestor Book Report problem

2007-02-14 Thread Jason Presley

Using the Publishing Center, I'm trying to assemble a book comprised of an
Ancestor Chart, an Ancestor Book Report and a Descendant Book Report, all
for the same individual (along with all the usual title page, introduction,
index, etc). I'm encountering several problems. When generating the
reports individually, everything works fine. But when using the Publishing
Center, the Ancestor Report has the wrong name in the title. I've tried
re-selecting the subject of the report and also made them the default family
when opening the program (the person in the title was the previous default
family).

I'm using version 6.0.0.118 and running XP SP2. Thanks for any suggestions!

Jason
