Re: [LegacyUG] Search the IGI
The copy to list was for info only, his was the primary address. I checked my sent mail folder and a copy did go to the user. I do not know why our list software stripped his address from the mail sent to the list. Re: [LegacyUG] Search the IGI
It was answered several times on the list so I am sending you this to your private email. The LDS Church has reorganized their familysearch.org website and those records that used to be in the old IGI search have been split into two parts. Some are being integrated into the new.familysearch.org site which is accessed via Legacy Family Search. Other parts are being integrated with the records in the church records searches. As a result there is no longer a single IGI that can be searched. In the latest update to Legacy there is a message that IGI is no longer available. For a future update we are working to give you access to those searches you had already performed but will disabnle any new searches. There were a number of answers ...in short the church is changing IGI on their website See https://familysearch.org/blog/igi-site/ I've copied some of the answers below: "The IGI Search as it was is no longer available. The church is incorporating it into their main website. Please update to the latest build 7.5.0.201, which has notification of this when you go to the search. Re: [LegacyUG] Search the IGI
The help file has not been updated to reflect the discontinuance of the IGI and there are quite a few help topics which still relate to the IGI. I have added a new problem report to have the IGI help topics removed. I also suggested that a new Help topic be written explaining that the IGI records are being reorganized by FamilySearch.org. Re: [LegacyUG] Search the IGI
The church is in processing of moving the IGI files to incorporate them into the massive database they're working on so the IGI Search won't work anymore. If we removed the button, then we figured we'd be getting a ton of emails asking where it went. As it was, we were getting quite a few emails stating that they couldn't connect. So we decided to put a pop-up instead, letting everyone know that it was no longer available! It may be removed in v8, I don't know. It is actually a good thing that the button works like it does now so that users do not have to look elsewhere for it or wonder what happened to it. Now it just tells the user that it is no longer available. I haven't checked the help files to see if the discontinuance was documented.
