It works between roles in the same event as well as between events. When you create the new role of wife, the default sentences are displayed. Click the Reset/Load button. You can then choose which event (can choose the same event as your current or another one) and which role in that event that you want to copy the sentences from. All 8 sentence definitions are copied from the selected role to your new role. Only difference from what you are asking is that instead of copying the old role and then renaming, you create the new role and then copy the sentences from an existing role. Thank you Kurt. After I initially responded to Brian's post, I played around a bit and found what Brian was explaining. The ability to share events, create specific roles, and copy customized sentences between roles/events is well worth the price of admission to Legacy 8. I totally agree It is an incredible pain! When you find the combination that sounds good to you there definitely needs to be a way to do this. I hope Legacy will incorporate this soon. Please send as a suggestion. I have done so several times for Legacy 7.5 but had no response, and, obviously, Legacy did nothing about it. I have not upgraded yet because there are still too many bugs, and I really have other things I must do besides enter material twice keep two Legacy programs up to date, which I would have to do to have the reports and sharing that I do. Anyway, since Legacy no longer accepts suggestions for Legacy 7.5, I have sent them a suggestion to incorporate your suggestion in Legacy 8. However, it may take a while before they get around to suggestions. This ability to copy sentences from another event or role exists in Legacy 8. When editing an event look for the reset button, that will let you copy sentences from another event to the one you are editing. When editing a role the reset button lets you copy the sentences from any role in any other event into the role you are editing.
