[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70307] EDITING: Input fields/lists are not updated in protected sections
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70307 --- Comment #4 from Kulo h.kulov...@lohr.at --- (In reply to comment #3) Expected behavior: As by starting input all fields with Ctrl+Shift+F9. In this case the fields are updated. I don't understand what you're trying to say here... Open the attached document and press Ctrl+Shift+F9: this starts a sequence to fill in all fields. Now edit text or choose another item and click Next to get to the next field. In this case all fields in protected an non-protected sections are updated. This sequence is automatically starting if you generate a new doc by double-clicking an ott-template. (In reply to comment #2) Qubit, if you're unable to change the text or select a new item in the protected section you already reproduced the bug. Yes, that's the behavior I noticed. In my opinion the intended behavior of a protected section is, that you are not able to edit any text but you are able to edit content of fields. I'm not sure of the intended behavior. Here's what the docs say: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Protecting_Content_in_Writer Any section of a LibreOffice Writer text document can be protected against changes with a password. This protection is not intended to be a secure protection. It is just a switch to protect the section against accidental changes. Kulo - Have you located further documentation of the 'protected section'? Thanks I only found this about sections: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Section and this about fields/functions: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Functions Another fact is: it doesn't make sense to insert an input field to a protected section an you can't input any text. The protection in this case is to protect the doc against changes in the layout and let users fill in text in fields. You can also see this behavior on MS Word. Dennis, is there a chance you produce a screenshot of the Failed to execute default Web Browser error box? It is not clear to me where that originates from. Also, do you run under Gnome, KDE, or some other manager? Thanks Stephan, you got it ! The problem was desktop environment related : I was running XFCE, but when I tried the same steps of comment #0 with KDE or MATE, it worked ! So I'm closing this bug and will file one to XFCE people. Thanks to all and sorry for the noise. Not so quick---the different desktops affect LO in that it has three different scripts it can call when launching a browser, depending on desktop either program/gnome-open-url, program/kde-open-url, or the fallback program/open-url. Now, in the fallback program/open-url there is indeed line 65 where the argument is not properly quoted, if echo $1 | grep '^mailto:' /dev/null; then where $1 should rather read $1 with quotes around it. What's strange is that that appears to not make a difference when I test it here; maybe a variance in Bash. Denis, if you manually fix that line in your LO installation, does it work even under XFCE then? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56035] : Indexing for Search not working
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56035 --- Comment #39 from Olaf Ahrens oahr...@bluewin.ch --- (In reply to comment #38) I think that fix for bug 56007 also fixes this one. Underperforming zip operations affect the indexer, too. Can you please check it in latest master? Don't forget the WRITE_REGISTRY=1 property: msiexec /i master~2013-10-16_01.30.44_LibreOfficeDev_4.2.0.0.alpha0_Win_x86.msi WRITE_REGISTRY=1 Hallo Andras Thanks for your immediately and really helpful reply. I've tested version 4.2.0.0 now in behalf of its behavior in Windows search. First: the indexing works like a charm! My computer stays responsive all the time and Windows didn't receive any error events in this time from search service. Second: to evaluate the search results was a little bit strange because of some words are found, others not. According to my previous post I'm now sure that this is not a problem with German umlauts. It's just that some documents are not indexed! But which documents are not indexed? All of the tested documents belongs to a serie of 11 older .odt-documents linked in one .odm (OpenDocument Master Document). One of them seems to be fully indexed, the other 10 not at all. I've found 1 difference between the indexed document and the not indexed documents: all of them are heavily referenced to each other. But the one document which is indexed only contains internal references, whereas the other - not indexed - documents all do contain internal and EXTERNAL references (links to other documents of this serie). So, when I do open one of them directly, these external references seem to be broken. But when I work with these documents inside the master document all these links are correct. I think that the indexing is stumbled across these external references. Is it possible? Should it be corrected? Third: may I use the 4.2.0.0 indexing dll's with version 4.1.2.3 or do I have to expect serious side-effects? Fourth: I don't understand the connection between the indexing problem and the problem with explorer shell extension. And what did you meen with mentioning 'Underperforming zip operations'? Conclusion: who ever did this work is my hero of the day! He/she/they resolved a problem existing for over one year. This solution nearly works perfect for me and I'm hopeful that the minor problems will be also resolved in near future. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Problem description: If the macro recording feature is disabled, hovering over the Organize macros menu item opens the Macro selector window. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure that Tools Options LibreOffice Advanced Enable macro recording (limited) is not ticked; 2. Open the Tools Macros menu; 3. Place the cursor over the Organize Macros item. Current behavior: The Macro selector window opens instantaneously without clicking. The sub-menu of Organize Macros does not open (only a small rectangle is visible, see attachment). Expected behavior: The sub-menu of Organize Macros should open with selectable option(s), or Organize Macros should be greyed-out/absent if none of those options are selectable without macro recording enabled. Note that the Macro selector window is normally summoned by the Run Macro... option, just above Organize Macros. I could reproduce this in both Writer and Calc. This bug is not specific to third-level drop-down menus as I could go into Insert Picture Scan without any problem in Writer. It shows Calibri for western font and 宋体 (Simsun) for Chinese font. But, it shows Calibri for western font and DejaVu Sans for Chinese font (fallback to Wenquanyi Zenhei as DejaVu Sans is actually not a Chinese font), rather than 宋体 (Simsun). Note that this is consistent with the default LO template for writer, because when create a new file in LO it sets Calibri for western and DejaVu Sans for Chinese as default. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70574] New: Feature Request: Open files in read mode as default

But more often than not (90% of all cases) I only want to read the Document, not to edit! But when I open a File, it is opened in edit mode and will be locked for others until I manually disable the Edit File-Button. If I want to edit and it is locked, I have to call my colleague to disable editing, as he most likely only wanted to read what i wrote before, and forgot to disable edit mode. This is annoying! I could open the File with -view parameter, but then it is write protected, the edit file button is grey and I am not allowed to save the File anymore. (So this is NO duplicate of Bug #62845) So I think it would be an useful option, to open a document in read mode (Edit File unchecked) as default. What I would like to have: - option to open documents in read mode as default - after opening, I can click Edit File button to edit and save the file, if I want to - don't show File is locked by ... dialog on startup, if it is opened in read mode (it will be shown when i enter edit mode anyway) As Bonus I would like this behaviour on Network shares only, local files may be edited directly. But this is really optional. This Feature would make the workflow of all users in collaborating teams much more comfortable. Also it would protect from accidental edits and overwrites, as I must confirm (by just one click), that I really want to edit this document. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So esp. late at night those look virtually identical and make work harder than it has to be. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set Libreoffice interface language to german (and restart) 2. Create a table in writer 3. right-click on the table Current behavior: Menu looks like this: [more items] Zelle Zeile Spalte [more items] Proposal: - make a better translation (eg. Reihe for row) and/or - put an image next to cell/row/column which signifies what the entry is about (eg. similar to the row - select image) Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.1.1.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70521 Maxim momonas...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Version|4.1.1.2 release |4.0.5.2 release --- Comment #4 from Maxim momonas...@gmail.com --- @Ronny Lydou: Could you please verify the integrity of the msi file? You have two ways to achieve that: 1. Right-click on the file in Explorer, choose 'Properties', open 'Digital Signatures' tab, and click on 'Details'. You should get a new windows with the text 'This digital signature is OK.'. If it's not the case, or you don't have the 'Digital Signatures' tab at all, then your installation file is corrupted. 2. You can also compare the hash of your file, with the one from libreoffice.org. In order to see the correct hashes, you should click on the 'Info' link that located at the bottom of the big green download button (near 'Torrent' link). If your installation file is indeed corrupted, you should try to download it again. If it won't help, you should try another mirror (If you click on the 'Info' link, you'll get a list of mirrors). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

In fact it seems that the bug is triggered by all caracters that need the SHIFT key to be used (except numbers).
