Re: [lubuntu-users] lubuntu social media page shut down because of legal threats from Rafael Laguna
Now I ask you: who gave you permission to steal my images? Damn it, you can even read my name in some screenshots you're using. You didn't even bother to change or alter them a bit. You even took the buttons (that look deformed in your site) and exactly the same text that I and the Release Manager wrote. And anyways, what's the point of having a "Lubuntu website" that doesn't get updated regularly? Your solution was to copy the entire content, knowing its graphic and text is protected under a copyright licence? We have respect for the licences. What you did is a robbery of Intellectual Property. Our site isn't closed. It is hosted in Ubuntu / Canonical servers, just to protect it and precisely to avoid someone to take control it over the whole group. How would you feel to know that someone is trying to steal your identity and confusing our users? Please, stop doing this. Lubuntu is for everybody, but if you want to create your own distro, fork it, name it and create your own identity for it. We worked hard for the end-users, for free, but not for someone to get advantage of it. You perfectly knew how this works, you were warned several times. Otherwise, if you continue, I can only consider your actions as a deliberate attack to Lubuntu, the Ubuntu community and the users themselves. It is sad indeed. Re: [lubuntu-users] Does a default Lubuntu dark theme exist?
Yes, Simon, the dark-ish theme is deprecated now for several reasons. We tried shipping a dark panel theme with light windows and (inverted) white icons. But there were some problems with it: - the theme needed too many updates, and we don't have the resources Ubuntu has for maintaining both themes - after several GTK & app icons updates, some glyphs had to be constantly re-written (specially the system tray ones) and we can't, obviously, cover the entire app ecosystem (every theme out there lacks some app icons) - LXDE is constantly changing and evolving and that's a problem for us, the artwork people. See, for example, the language applet. At first we used a single applet icon for it, then the flags appeared and we needed to make 164 new glyphs for every language and resolution (keep in mind having to duplicate all of them in white colour), and then we changed to Fcitex, all that work is useless now (again, more icons) That's why Lubuntu theme (the only one) is the only pre-installed, depending on Gnome icons (they keep those glyphs updated so we can focus on apps) and same with GTK. Also, a distro usually uses just one theme, that visually identifies the system, and it can't be the perfect match for every user. And that's where Linux tops over other OSes, letting you to customise at any level. Anyway, if you want to get back the semi-dark theme, you can grab the GTK [1] and icon [2] themes (I released them to allow any user to continue or fork them), or even download new ones from Gnome-Look [3]. Sorry if this isn't what you expected to hear, but we're doing a big effort to keep the Lubuntu overall looking nice, specially now we're porting everything to Qt, using a new syntax, new apps new controls and almost re-doing it from scratch. Thanks for understanding. The proper URL for downloads is /downloads, not /download. WP tries to solve it taking you to the closest title. Also, "downloads" is what you see in the menu. The menus are working fine. [lubuntu-users] [Bug 1608306] Re: Confusing for users with many websites
Thank you, Einar. I contacted with the DuckDuckGo guys, and they were very kind. They also made a custom search command (#lubuntu) for us! Regarding the new site, I must say it all began as a simple blog coming along the main website. One of its functions was informing about the updates, install parties and artwork. The "problem" is that it started to grow up, and I kept the release information more up to date than the "official" site itself. That's how it began a whole site about Lubuntu, with news, blog, and more sections. And we're planning to expand it even more. Nowadays, when Lubuntu sees a new release, we update lubuntu.me the very moment it happens. lubuntu.net delays it, even weeks after the release date. That's why I can't consider it very official, as its owner isn't carrying out the community functions he signed for. The day I can't comply with my duties, I'll resign and more admins will take care of it. This is how it works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Lubuntu, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1608306 Title: Confusing for users with many websites Status in Lubuntu Artwork: In Progress Bug description: Hi! I have used Lubuntu for many years and thought the lubuntu.net webstte was the official site for lubuntu. I have subscribed to the RSS feed to get news, but lately, there have been very few. Recently, I discovered the lubuntu.me website. It seems more active and the blog is up to date on news. There is no indication on either that they are not official, but on the bottom of both, there seems to be information pointing towards both being owned by individuals, not by the Lubuntu project. This makes it hard to know which is the official site, if any. Would it not be less confusing for users to have one website and make the other address redirect to it? Re: [lubuntu-users] LibreOffice 5
Hi, Wilbert: LibreOffice 5 uses a different window widget control and what they call "menu integration". It has proven to be buggy in loits of environments, including Openbox, Mutter and minimal X11 managers (Rat Poison, iwm, WindowMaker, etc). Until they team fixes that (among other news, like the Libreoffice cloud access) I highly recommend NOT to use version 5, but 4 instead. If your problem is the scrolllbar I recommend you to use the official themes provided by Ubuntu and derivatives (Lubuntu's Box, Ubuntu's Light Themes, Xubuntu's Greybird, etc). Also ensure you have installed the packages libreoffice-gtk and libreoffice-gtk3 to enable full GTK3 compatibility. Cheers! vivid vervet artwork cycle
Dear Volunteers: I'm pleased to say, in the name of Lubuntu Artwork Team [1], that we start a new challenge: Vivid Vervet [3]. This time we'll see the (re)birth of a great Qt-based desktop environment, LXQt, together with our usual LXDE. Nevertheless Artwork items and themes are kinda "frozen" for this edition [4], incoming proposals [2] are welcomed if you dare to create some. You can add your own icons or suggest what apps do need to be created, using the Box design guidelines [5]. If you prefer to collaborate with other content, like banner, flyers, posters, or even translating items, you're invited to take anything from the Marketing wiki [6] and use it, improve it or creating new ones. That's all for now, friends. Thank you for your patience! Re: [Lubuntu-qa] Roadmap proposal for Lubuntu 15.04
Good news. From Artwork, I must say that Lubuntu themes are going to enter a "freezing" status. As no more GTK3 development is intended for this desktop, and it's fully functional (even in 3rd party newer ones), I only have a few tasks to do, like a re-merge with Light Themes from Ubuntu (to fix some Gnome bugs) and keep it maintained. Our goal now must be a fully working LXQt desktop with all visual aspects tuned up, and we're working on that. We'll discuss too about re-organizing the teams or agendas. It's good to keep synced between us. Thanks, Julien. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team On 28 October 2014 16:35, Walter Lapchynski wrote: > > I would like to recreate the > > blueprints we had some releases ago to organize the work for this > > cycle. I'm using now fcitx (with sogou, a CJK support). It's faster, themeable (very important :D) and included in Ubuntu repos. It's the language support that Ubuntu Kylin uses. I've used scim and find it a little funkier than iBus (for example, for me, the Unicode input method is ONLY for Unicode so you'd have to type hex for every character, i.e. not cool). uim is a newer project that I have yet to play with. Anyone out there try it? Turns out Xubuntu doesn't include ANY input manager in lieu of the problems with iBus. When I run: apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer I get: libreoffice-writer: Installed: 1:4.2.6.3-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:4.2.6.3-0ubuntu1 So I have 4.2 rather than 4.4 so You may have a strange version installed. I suggest installing Libreoffice from the repos. sudo apt-get install libreoffice or find it in your graphics package manager of choice. Thanks for the suggestions. I always install the "real thing" from libreoffice.org as I lack confidence in the repos' modifications to the designers' intentions. However I must apologise for the typo; the current version is 4.3.1, not 4.4. As suggested above, it could be a graphics card issue, but all other programs display just fine. Peter HB Hi Peter, if all other applications work just fine, then I would think that the issue is that the website's package is missing some essential modifications that the Ubuntu packagers make so it 'just works' in the Ubuntu derivatives. I'd suggest you try the repo version and see if the issue is still present. Otherwise, you might look for a PPA for the program, as there are most likely specific modifications that need to be made to the packaging for Ubuntu. That's a good thought. Next time I fire up the m/c in question I'll give the repository version a try. Re: LibreOffice under Lubuntu
Peter, as a designer I must answer. Trust me when I say the last thing the packagers think about is the application design. In fact, to integrate better LibreOffice to any GTK desktop you must install a few packages made separatedly from LibreOffice, like a couple GTK engines and the theme Sifr. (L)Ubuntu is stable and compatible enough to ensure any standard Linux app will work once unpacked from the Internet, but that doesn't mean packaged versions for our repositories are "touched" in some way. They're just recompiled for easy install. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team On 25 September 2014 02:56, Israel wrote: > > > On 09/24/2014 04:38 PM, Peter Hillier-Brook wrote: > > On 24/09/14 21:56, Israel wrote: > > On 09/24/2014 03:18 PM, John Hupp wrote: > > On 9/24/2014 3:57 PM, Peter Hillier-Brook wrote: > > Hello All, > > I've encountered a problem with running LibreOffice (4.4.0.x) on a fresh > installation of Lubuntu 14.04, in that text only paints as the mouse > moves over it and mainly, but not always disappears as the mouse moves > away. Re: [Bug 1316384] Re: After upgrade from Lubuntu 13.10 to 14.04, color customization is ignored
GTK3 windows and widgets cannot be colorized anymore. Only GTK2 apps keep this feature. Forthcoming GTK4 libs won't be able to do that neither. So it's not a 14.04 or 14.10 bug, it's simply a widget lack of features. Also, the theme has change, now windows' background are almost white in contrast with "old" versions that were more gray(ish). Now the Lubuntu default theme follows Ubuntu's Light Themes design guides. Tooltips visibility problems should be fixed by now if you add the Lubuntu Artwork Daily PPA or download the standalone version of the theme. Re: Geany under Lubuntu 14.10
Hello, Wilbert. This is an error from Lubuntu default theme, because of some Nautilus missing dependencies that are already fixed. It's not important at all, and you may continue using your system normally. In fact, sometimes, we put "fake" or ghost images to cheat the theme engines on our purposes. Anyway, if you launch often from the terminal and want to get rid off these messages, you should use the new Lubuntu theme version (downloading or adding a PPA). Yes, not only on icons, GTK must be fixed too (I see glitches everywhere). I'll fix as many bugs as I can. Also, if you see something able to be changed, don't hesitate to tell me. Re: How to retain native application icons?
Don't worry, in fact I thought I offended you :D Anyway I tell you, you can't erase system folders that free way. There're applications that look for glyphs (small icons for menu, toolbars, etc) that are stored in those folders, and they might not run if these folders are not present. Better you go to gnome-look.org and look for anything that fits you. Or download any Tango variant with 3rd party themes addons. There are many at deviantart.com that "respect" the original logos. Re: How to retain native application icons?
I think my last answer was too rough. My apologies if you got offended. It's just that sometimes the concepts of design are difficult to understand, or even totally misunderstood. If you are new to Linux you'd find a lot of things really different from other operating systems. So, I "dare" you to test other themes, desktop and systems, to see which one fits your needs. Re: How to retain native application icons?
The choose gnome icon theme. It retains "original logos". Or maybe their icons don't resemble Windows enough and you think the folder will become unrecognizable? Don't speak about me. Let's look to ACYL icons, totally diferent. You should thank to people like this author the time he spent on "modifying and screwing up" the original logos just to bring users an homogeneous look for their system, with no mixed balls, squares, triangles, romboids, and infinite forms that, from a designer point of view, as mine, is a real and complete shit. And don't misunderstand me, I love Gnome icons and his creator, Jimmac, but the purpose of an icon theme is make a pleasant and smooth visual sensation. Don't give me lessons of design, I'm a designer and Box is a concept (not a way of destructing logos) widely accepted. There's a thing called "creative overall justification" or guidelines (did you read it before using Box? I post these notes twice a year, on every Lubuntu release: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Lubuntu/Artwork/Guidelines). Every design has one to explain things, like why we enclose logos in squares or use circles, or whatever. If you don't like a theme, just choose another. That is freedom. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-06-15 17:13 GMT+02:00 John Niendorf : > Well I am new to the list, but this strikes me as, well, silly. > Is the debate really over how someone chooses to display an icon on > their system? > If you like the "default" icons or are afraid of violating a trademark > then by all means feel free to use whatever icon came with the > software...as for me I prefer icons that match my theme... > > John > > On 06/15/2014 04:29 PM, N. Re: How to retain native application icons?
I think I understand you. Windows and OSX don't use icon themes, they can't change the way they look. Every app must install its own icon in its own folder (very messy). But that's not the way Linux works. Linux can't work without one (at least) icon theme. Every icon theme tries to customize the logos, some are really different, and some use the closer designs. You have to get used to this, because it's the way Linux is designed. You can read about searching XDG or FreeDesktop Linux desktop metaphors. But what I don't really understand is that we, as Linux users, can change radically the imposed icons from the aps and choose our owns, so more freedom and customization, and you don't like it. It surprises me a lot :) -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-06-14 1:09 GMT+02:00 N. Re: How to retain native application icons?
What you suggest is impossible in Linux (with an XDG desktop metaphor). You want to use the original icon designs while using only the mimetypes of Box. Or do you want to erase the action, panel and other GUI features of your desktop? That's a really bad idea. If you dislike the Box icons design you should look for another theme that suits you. Also, deleting (with superuser permissions) things in the /usr/share/icons may left unstable some programs that look for them. And yes, some apps like Firefox, PCManFM and others have their own original icons in the app itself. But, removing others may cause unexpected effects. I'm surprised you can run everything, or that you don't confuse items on menus, dialogs, and so. My question now is, how do you plan to restore the /usr/share/icons which, in fact, isn't the only folder used by Lubuntu theme, but for other applications? Try GiMP, Anjuta or any other complex UI now you've deleted that, and you may not work anymore with them. Trust me, don't delete system folders. If you want to use another theme, download one (www.gnome-look.org). -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-06-13 18:50 GMT+02:00 N. Re: Why is lubuntu-artwork not being updated in Trusty?
We make things for a reason. When we create new icons, themes, apps or whatever, they are intended to be part of the system you have on your home. But sometimes we need to experiment, or make tests, or just ensure what we do does not affect a massive amount of computers. Box is part of Lubuntu, yes. But it's a standalone theme too, if you use another Linux distro. Also, I add lots of new icons and make changes in the GTK theme. Imagine the situation that I modify something that breaks the system on thousands of computers (it happened, trust me). Before we push the changes onto Ubuntu's main repos we have to be really really sure it works as expected. That's the reason I have a separate PPA for artwork. The same about the staging apps. When you download a system you expect it keeps stable and not changing daily. And we're Artwork Team. We cannot login in Canonical's servers everyday and say "hey, I'm going to change some stuff, so your ISOs may change size and stability and package dependencies". There's a complex structure and there're protocols in the way we work. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-06-10 17:44 GMT+02:00 N. Re: Why is lubuntu-artwork not being updated in Trusty?
Actually the current version of Lubuntu Artwork is 0.47 but it depends on PPAs updates. Its' normal that an independent development (the Unified Box for Linux) goes further than the official updates (the Ubuntu repositories). Look here: https://code.launchpad.net/~lubuntu-art/lubuntu-artwork/quantal The version updated is 0.47 and you'll receive that version via the Artwork Daily PPA. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-06-10 16:06 GMT+02:00 N. Re: Lubuntu 14.10 and after
You are right about it. We realized that our desktop concept was exactly the same as theirs. The overall look is the same, that "old" desktop metaphor based on CDE standards (just like Windows or LXDE) using an icon grid and a panel. And remember the libraries. At this moment we use too many widget libraries. Extra and unuseful effort. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-30 18:29 GMT+02:00 Dale Visser : > I think the two projects (LXDE and RazorQt) simply found common goals, > philosophy and duplication of effort. Re: Lubuntu 14.10 and after
KDE uses QT, but it's not QT. UbuntuOne, or many other apps, used QT and nobody noticed it. We're not forced, really. Other environments will remain in GTK. But not LXDE. Have in mind that QT is faster than GTK, modern and it's Desktop independent, unlike GTK, that depends heavily on GNOME. Trust me, you will continue using your desktop and, thanks to the Artwork Team, you will feel as comfortable on it like with current GTK one. Don't expect big aesthetic changes, or big core changes. And we are not going to replace everything in a moment. And I'd like to say you that everything we make is for good of this Operating System, so we'd never considered this if if wasn't useful. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-30 18:01 GMT+02:00 c. marlow : > > On 05/30/2014 06:52 AM, N. Re: Box icon theme for Claws Mail and Sylpheed?
In fact, Sylpheed-Claws was already a fork, and then its development stopped and reborn as Claws Mail, that was another fork. But it does not make it less suitable for use :) About the standard theme, it's a bit stupid. There're name conventions for every action in the desktop. Mail apps are fully covered. You just need to see Evolution in action. It has a lot of icons and all of them are taken from your gtk theme. But don't worry, we'll post any vote or decision here, because we all are the community and we all have voice. Re: Lubuntu 14.10 and after
We don't know yet. We have to decline using GTK libraries with time, because we cannot keep two widget sets in a single ISO. Also, the only way to get a desktop homogeneous is to keep all the widgets calling for the same graphics. Look, right now we're using gtk3, gtk2, tk, plainX and qt. It doesn't make any sense, right? Also, gtk4 is coming too aside gtk3. Imagine the chaos its coming to some Linux desktops. Ubuntu is going to that technology (qt5) and Lubuntu is using its core and apps. It's logical to improve, not to make our systems a mess (and not talking about the hell it will be for us, the designers). The app polling will be in a few time. The community will vote and we'll evolve as expected ;) -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-30 13:52 GMT+02:00 N. Re: Box icon theme for Claws Mail and Sylpheed?
We already voted about a change of the default mail client. In fact, I proposed Claws, but have in consideration that Claws is a fork of a fork, so deep that we barely can't follow their packages evolution. We could use it, but we need to consider lots of things to include it in Lubuntu (easyness of use, look, continuity, accessible community, active development, etc), You know what? Sylpheed is not using any compatible icon theme, it uses its own, and that's awful. Also Claws, that is able to change themes but doesn't care of your favourite themes installed in your .icons folder. So what for theming if they both are unable to be standard enough? Firefox can use themes, personas, change icons or just respect the theme you're using. That's what a GTK app does. -- Lubuntu-users mailing list Lubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/lubuntu-users
Re: Box icons
Obviously it's a GTK3 error. GTK2 can't use CSS styles for rounded corners. And it seems that your compiled version of Synaptic is not using well the theme engine. Try to test with another (recent) GTK3 theme like ZukiTwo. Probably you'll see the same errors. Anyway, this doesn't happen on AMD64 or x86 machines (where I have tested). -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-30 9:20 GMT+02:00 : > Am 30.05.2014 03:54, schrieb lubuntu-users-requ...@lists.ubuntu.com: > > > Hi, >> I have noticed those errors also. Re: Grub2 theme in the spirit of Lubuntu?
Agree. But just one thing to keep in mind: Ubuntu itself hasn't themed grub2. The normal screen is like this: http://i.imgur.com/95sPGMI.png When you're talking about a more "complete" theme, do you mean something like this? http://i.imgur.com/Mj6fe6U.png I'm sure you know you can customize (on any Ubuntu flavour) the grub, grub2 or burg entries and theme it a bit with Grub Customizer: http://goo.gl/Pmj9qH Anyway, I was having a look to the wiki docs: grub2: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2 grub2 (displays): https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/Displays I don't say theming grub2 for Lubuntu is a bad idea. I'm considering that, if there's no Ubuntu flavour customized, why should we? But I insist, if you all (the Community) consider it's a "must-have", I'll be glad to work on it. Re: After Firefox update black and grey bar instead of text in addres bar
Because that panel isn't Gnome's, even when they look the same. But OSes are not intended to release a thousand themes to please everybody. It's like trying to please all with food, music or sex. I can tell it, people asked me for 8 different combinations of Box theme for Lubuntu. And if possible 14 icon colours variations. I'll be happy if only main theme works as expected, and I'm doing my best, trust me. Hi Aere, To be honest I wouldn't say Ubuntu is capable of 'marching away from customization'. The only move the Unity desktop has made away from customization this release is the placement of the window buttons, but this is because they added a feature users have been requesting for a long time the menu bar back in the windows. You can still theme and customize Unity in the same ways as before, minus the buttons being on the right hand side. Of course you can customize it completely in every aspect by installing from the mini iso, and only installing the packages you want. You can even install a DE or WM and customize it. If you want full control of customization it is available. You are still not able to move the launcher panel, but this feature hasn't been available before. But there are more options to customize the setup than there were, such as the launcher's size. So, I only can see 1 less option, and at very least 2 more options. This release has shown that they are listening to the community (they even re-added click the launcher to minimize... though you need ccsm) The removal of color customization in Lubuntu is a bug, not a design feature, and I think Rafael is sleuthing to find the root cause of this regression. Also, I have not seen the black bar issue yet on the machines I am using. Re: Lubuntu 14.04 Ignores User Color-Customization
I'm afraid yes. The theme I designed for Lubuntu, the default (called Box) is fully customizable. I added that feature after users requests. But now it's no working on ANY theme. When a desktop starts, there's a daemon that reads the themes, colurs, fonts, key bindings, etc. And for an unknown reason, Lubuntu loads the theme and locks it. Even if you make a theme "customizable" (all are in some ways) you won't notice the colour changes. It loads as is. In Lubuntu, this startup function is managed by a package called "lxsession". And I'm pretty sure it's the "guilty". -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-04 21:39 GMT+02:00 Aere Greenway : > Rafael: > > It would be good to have all of the relevant information initially within > the bug-report. > > I will wait to submit it until you report back on what you find out in > your additional tests. > > I think you are saying that the customization wouldn't work in Lubuntu > even if I developed a custom theme (per Nio's suggestion). > > - Aere > > > > On 05/04/2014 05:55 AM, Rafael Laguna wrote: > > The problem here aren't the themes, is the XSettings daemon. Re: Lubuntu 14.04 Ignores User Color-Customization
The problem here aren't the themes, is the XSettings daemon. Each environment has its own: XFCE has xfce4-settings-manager, Gnome has gnome-settings-daemon, etc. The package you're looking for is lxsession. LXDE has a standalone version of the daemon, called lxsession-daemon which loads independent config files. I need to do more tests to see if this is working. Re: Lubuntu 14.04 Ignores User Color-Customization
More clues. I've tested on a few environments. 1. Lubuntu does no colorize at all. Nor fgtk2 nor gtk3. 2. XFCE (using Shimmer's gtk-theme-config) DOES colorize only gtk2 (pretty normal, as usually gtk3 is not able to do this) 3. Mate. The same as XFCE, only colorizes gtk2 apps (I insist, gtk3 apps cannot be colorized as is, they need to be tweaked via .gtk-3.0 RC). 4. Ubuntu hasn't this feature anymore. So, as colorization works in every environment as eexpected, the problem is ours. But themes react fine in other desktops, so there's no problem at all on engines or themes RC files. So, once tested all steps, there's only one left: the LXDE session settings daemon. Shall we declare it as a bug? -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-04 0:23 GMT+02:00 Rafael Laguna : > Yes, I can't customize Lubuntu-default, experimental Box, or even Adwaita. > Now I'm testing Xubuntu themes and they seem to be un-colorizable too. > Something's happening to the Desktop Settings daemon. Re: Lubuntu 14.04 Ignores User Color-Customization
Yes, I can't customize Lubuntu-default, experimental Box, or even Adwaita. Now I'm testing Xubuntu themes and they seem to be un-colorizable too. Something's happening to the Desktop Settings daemon. It's not theme or engine related. It also affects GTK3. Let me try more tests on other environments and I hope to have an answer or, at least, a clue. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-05-03 22:37 GMT+02:00 Aere Greenway : > All: > > I encountered a problem with Lubuntu 14.04 which (to me) is a > show-stopper. Dear people: As you may know Canonical has released another wallet for Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr [1], as it is an LTS version it may deserve that. So we have one too. And you all know me, I'm so "Canonicalized" I only publish what Canonical does, for our flavour Lubuntu. You can download the Lubuntu wallet at [2]. It includes a normal CD / DVD cover, a disc imprint and a Lightscribe version, both with and without hole (thanks for that advice) with, of course, source SVG included. I hope you like it.Hugs to everyone! Does it happen when you deactivate the driver and use the default one? -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-02-23 16:46 GMT+01:00 Norbert Holze : > Hello! > > Today I tried a clean install of Lubuntu daily. Re: Evince alternative
In fact, I already fixed this annoying bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lubuntu-artwork/+bug/1256560). This happened due to a change in GTK3 libraries (surprising me, I must admit) and I repaired this. I don't know why you get this bug in Saucy. Maybe you should add our daily ppa to get rid of that (ppa:lubuntu-art/daily). -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-02-20 18:04 GMT+01:00 John Hupp : > > I find Evince to be functional, but at least in Saucy, I agree that the menus > are displeasing, with many items in gray text on black background, making > them appear inactive. > > And at least in its GUI, I find no way to enable a traditional menu bar. > (Not terribly disturbing, since other apps are migrating away from that, > though perhaps offering it as a non-default option.) > > But maybe Rafael is saying that, at least for upcoming Trusty, he has the > existing menu items displaying nicely. > > > On 2/20/2014 5:16 AM, Kris Van Bruwaene wrote: > > Thank you guys for all these tips. Re: Trusty Tahr artwork
Oh, right. I'm not an expert in architecture. So, my K7 (Sempron 3200 Athlon64) is newer than those who need non-PAE? Because everything works fine. -- Rafael Laguna Lubuntu Artwork Team 2014-02-19 19:33 GMT+01:00 Ali Linx : > > On 02/19/2014 09:40 PM, Rafael Laguna wrote: > > That's true.
