However, the letter is completely omitted in the postscript version as if it hasn't been typed at all. You have to have Edit/Preferences/Outputs/LaTeX/TeX encoding set to T1 to make it work (and either have cm-super fonts installed or use Layout/Document/Layout/Font & Size set to "ae" or "pslatex". All the best, Matej Thanks very much! I had the encoding set set to T1 but I would never have worked out that I had to set Font and Size to ae or pslatex. All I need to do is to work out how to stop lyx calling dvips with "-t a4" and I will be happy :) Cheers, Raphael

Cheers, Raphael In the minibuffer (the bar at the bottom of the screen) type accent-umlaut e You can bind this to a short cut key. Search wiki.lyx.org. Hi, Thanks very much for that answer. Sadly my problem seems a little more complicated. I am using prosper (Weiss layout) and want the character in the author field of the title page. When I do accent-umlaut e as you suggest, lyx shows it beautifully. However, the letter is completely omitted in the postscript version as if it hasn't been typed at all. I have attached a very simple lyx file to show what I am doing. Any help is very much appreciated. Rapha\"{e}l #LyX 1.3 created this file. an idea ...
Hi, Im in the course of editing plenty of mathematical formulas at the moment... The idea is to make mathematical panel not to affect the focus of keyboard input as far as possible. This is really annolying to go back to the formula manually every time the panel is used. "Use shortcuts" someone will say - ok, but why not to gain the funcionality of the panel as well ? Did you run a "texhash" (root) and reconfigure in LyX afterwards? Thomas Hello, please follow this link to get your new class files installed.
