Problem with figure spanning two columns
Hi.. I have a figure float in which I've checked the option to span columns (this is a two-column paper in the article class).. the placement is set to default placement. For some reason, on the page preceding the figure, the paragraphs have an extra lineskip between them... any ideas on how I can get rid of these extra lines? If I uncheck the span columns option, the spacing between the paragraphs is fine. The figure doesn't fit in one column width so I need to use the span columns option... Thanks, nirmal

nomencl.sty
Hi, I am trying to get the nomencl.sty package to work. I need to create a list with the used abbreviatons, in a table and sorted by Name [ASCII art] Abbreviation Unit Description bla b Blabla In the preamble I wrote: \usepackage{nomencl} \makeglossary Then, where the list should magically appear: \printglossary The used abbrevations where described like this: \nomenclature{AHP}{afterhyperpolarisation} DVI preview did not bring any error, nor did it bring any abbreviations. When I use the tips at www.texni.de, the latex run brings an error: ! Unable to read an entire line---bufsize=20. Please increase buf_size in texmf.cnf. Had that before, yesterday. But the ps preview under lyx works fine, so I really do not know what to do... Anyone any ideas? -j

Hi every body, Mr. Omma did some questions and thought the one dobt remains.. How can I put all bibliography together at the end when I have a master file with several include file ? I've made 1 file for each chapter to keep it manageable and a master file with include statements. I only want one bibliography at the end. I also use BibTex and NatBib. And now I have some questions :) (I apologise if these have been asked here before) 1. How can I do appendix style numbering? I'd like to number the appendix pages as A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, etc. (I've worked out that I can use ERT: \setcounter{page}{1} and found a description opf how to do roman numerals for the TOC, but how do you prefix the number with an 'A-'?) 2. How to make line spacing different for different sections? The thesis needs to be double spaced, but that looks really silly in the table of contents and bibliography. How do I specify single spacing for those sections? 3. Language problems: When I paste a block from one document to another, I sometimes get blue underline, which I've read signifies a foreign language. I can turn off the notification in the Preferences, but I still get the error message: 'Package babel Error: You haven't loaded the option english yet. [EMAIL PROTECTED]' I have selected English in Document settings and preferences. Ideas? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Henrik
