BibTeX Parser: Unexpected end of file.

2011-10-05 Thread Tom Francart
Hi all,

I'm using Lyx 2.0.0 (Ubuntu package).
When trying to insert a citation in my document, I get the error message "BibTeX
Parser: Unexpected end of file." And indeed, part of my bibtex file is not
available in Lyx.
How can I get more info about what the problem is (e.g., a line number)? It's a
2.2MB .bib file which works fine with Bibtex and Pybliographer, so it's quite
hard to find out what the problem is.
I tried enabling debug output, but did not get more useful information.

thanks,
Tom

Sans-serif math font

2011-10-05 Thread Diego Queiroz
Hi folks.

I want to change the font in Math environment to Sans-serif, but when I
change the Font Default Family in a document (thru Document > Settings... >
Fonts) the font used in Math environment is not changed.
Currently, is there a way to change the Math font to Sans-serif in LyX?

I know that I can do that including \usepackage{sfmath} to the preamble, but
I want to know if something similiar can be done using LyX User Interface,
without ERT.

Re: LyX2.0 and Sweave - No Output

2011-10-05 Thread Yihui Xie
I believe "Environment Schunk undefined" means LaTeX cannot find
Sweave.sty, which is part of R. Since you are using MikTeX, you can
easily add the texmf tree (find it using R code R.home('share')) to
MikTeX (using the menu Setting in the start menu or something -- I do
not remember exactly).

We have solved this headache that tons of users have run into in LyX
2.0.1, but currently there is no official release for Windows yet.

LyX2.0 and Sweave - No Output

2011-10-05 Thread Shane Siers
Hi, User's List...

I'm a new-ish LyX user, otherwise naive to LaTeX. After about 10 hours of
frustration, I got LyX to successfully open the Sweave module, and allow me
to format text as a Sweave chunk. However, when I View>View
[PDF(pdflatex)], I get a list of errors:

Missing \endcsname inserted.
LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}.
Extra \endcsname.
Missing \endcsname inserted.
Missing \endcsname inserted.
LaTeX Error: Environment Schunk undefined.
LaTeX Error: Environment Sinput undefined.

...et. cetera...

I'm using LyX 2.0.0, R 2.13.0 (64-bit), MikTeX 2.9, Windows 7 (64-bit).

The text in my Sweave->LaTeX (pdflatex) converter is: Rscript --verbose
--no-save --no-restore $$s/scripts/lyxsweave.R $$p$$i $$p$$o $$e $$r

The text in my PATH Prefix box is:
$LyXDir\bin;$LyXDir\python;$LyXDir\imagemagick;$LyXDir\ghostscript;C:\Program
Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin;C:\Program Files
(x86)\LyX20\bin;C:\Program Files\R\R-2.13.0\bin; C:\Program
Files\R\R-2.13.0\bin\x86

Are the spaces in the path a problem?

Can anyone help to get me Sweave-ing?

biblatex version: 1.6
biber version: 0.9.2

There's no mention of the bcf file in the latex log, however the .bcf
file is produced and the latex log contains the following hints:

Package biblatex Info: ... file 'docname.bbl' not found.
...
Package biblatex Warning: Please (re)run Biber on the file:
(biblatex)docname
(biblatex)and rerun LaTeX afterwards.

Adding \typeout{File: \jobname.bcf} to the preamble works and biber is run.

reverse search sumatra xetex...maybe I am almost there...

2011-10-05 Thread dc

I may be almost there. Any pointers would be appreciated...

as far as I can see, these are the key parameter locations

documents>settings>output
my default output format is pdf(xetex)
I have synchronize with output set to: \synctex=-1

in Tools>Preferences>Output
For forward search,
I don't know what the default is. I may have messed it up...
I tried Forward search set to:
CMCDDE SUMATRA control [ForwardSearch(\"$$o\",\"$$t\",$$n,0,0,1)]
or
CMCDDE SUMATRA control [ForwardSearch(\\\"$$o\\\",\\\"$$t\\\",$$n,0,0,1)]
per
http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org/msg159513.html
to no avail.

I then discovered that I needed to install separately CMCDDE to use this. I
downloaded it, and unzipped to get to cmcdde.exe. No installation instructions,
so I put it in my lyx/bin folder, but I feel this is wrong, just wrong.
Anyhow, it opened sumatra, but told me it couldn't open the file.
Because it was trying to open the file from lyx's bin folder.

So I tried this, which mentions that:
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.devel/135713
(installing lyxeditor.exe and putting sumatra.bat in
Tools>settings>output>file formats for pdf(xetex)
as described in the article).
It opened sumatra, and put "lyxeditor.exe %f %l"
into the inverse search command line.
but double clicking was inoperative.
it is installed in my sumatra program folder...

I tried this too, which seems very similar to the above...instead using a cmd
file:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/SyncTeX
even though it sounded complicated and it requires pdfsync which I read is
deprecated now.
I get the same lyx/bin folder problem as above.

HELP.

Cross-reference in equation in lyx 2

2011-10-05 Thread David B
Hello,

In LyX pre-2.0 I was able to put a cross-reference to an equation inside a
formula, so that it would look something like in this image:
http://www.latex-community.org/forum/download/file.php?id=4130

If I try to do this in LyX 2.0 the reference ends up immediately above the
formula, but outside of it. Does anyone know how to put cross-references in
formulas in 2.0?

Best Regards,
David

Thanks. It seems like the bcf file is not mentioned in your LaTeX log file.

The log file is supposed to have a line such as

\openout3 = `Minimalbeispiel.bcf'.

Can you check if such a line is there? If not, the bcf file is not added to
LyX's dependency tracker and thus biber is not issued.

Maybe it's a MikTeX thing not to output this line (\openout security
setting). If so, we will need a different check.

To those who see the problem and can compile: Could you check if the
following fixes the issue?

Index: src/LaTeX.cpp
===

+++ src/LaTeX.cpp   (Arbeitskopie)

-   bool const biber = head.exist(bcffile);
+   bool const biber = bcffile.exists();

// run bibtex
// if (scanres & UNDEF_CIT || scanres & RERUN || run_bibtex)

The change probably has drawbacks. One that comes to mind is that there
might be a zombie bcf file after a switch from biber to bibtex, and thus
still biber would be called erroneously.

Thanks,
Jürgen

Can you run LyX with -dbg latex? You can either start LyX from a terminal

Longtables

2011-10-05 Thread Lastalda Felina
This is probably a stupid question, but I'm still fairly new to Lyx.
I want to use a longtable in my thesis. From what I've read across
various sources, I need to rightclick on the table, click through to
the "options => long tables" setting and then tick off the little box
saying "use longtable". But for some reason I cannot tick it, it's
greyed out so un-selectable.
(Screenshot: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y8/lastalda/longtable.png)

Do I need to use some specific package to be able to access the
longtable option? Or some special setting?
(I'm using the koma(book) class, if that is relevant.)

Thank you in advance for your help!
Lastalda

It probably has something to do with the version of biber. The most recent
is 0.9.5. The workaround Thomas mentions points to a "bug" in biber that has
been resolved in version 0.9.1 (actually, it's not really a bug, but the
omission of an information LyX relies on), see for details:

I get:

but the list of shortcuts shows Alt+M N

I am using Lyx 2.0.1 and Debian squeeze

Whats wrong?

Do you think it has anything to do with the version of perl? I have perl 5.12 64
bit on on Windows 7 64bit.

Thank you very much for that hint. After reading that I remembered that there
was an possible error with LyX not running biber hinted to in the wiki, which I
seem to have forgotten among all the trying around. As specified there I added
"\typeout{File: \jobname.bcf}" in to the preamble and now it works.

I will do that.
