Re: Springer Natura template

2024-06-04 Thread Sergio Celani
I don't really know how to create a suitable layout for the sn-jnl class.
Generally, I use the template article or ams article to write articles, but
in this case, they are asking me to use the class sn-jnl. I have also tried
importing the sn-article.tex example file into a Lyx file, but it seems
that Lyx cannot import it (I am attaching a screenshot).

Springer Natura template

2024-06-04 Thread Sergio Celani
Dear community,

Many thanks for the new release of LyX. I have been using it extensively
and without any problems.

I am currently writing an article for a Springer journal and I am required
to use the Springer Nature LaTeX class. Is there a LyX template available
for this class? I have tried to create a layout for this class but I have
not been successful. I would be very grateful if someone has a layout for
this class and would like to share it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards

Hello to all LyX users
Where could I download the trial version 2.4? I can't find it on the site

I have just made what you suggested (saving the file outside of
Dropbox) and the following message appears:

That is a first! I do not even know what it means or why did it appear.
The original file is in the Dropbox folder, a new copy is in my Desktop, so
no, the file is shared (and not opened by someone else as I have updated
the version number and my coauthor is seated besides me). Saved, modified,
resaved, no problem with the copy. Closed the copy, opened the original,
modified, saved, the write failure error appears.

Yes, in this case my files are shared. This problem occurs with both shared
and non-shared directories. Also, it doesn't happen in all my directories.
This problem appeared in older versions of Lyx. I never gave it much
importance because it seems to me that it is more a Dropbox problem

Re: [ANNOUNCE] LyX 2.3.3

2019-06-27 Thread Sergio Celani
I also have installed versions 2.31 and 2.3.2, but the installation
directories are different from those offered by the installer. I don't know
if this is necessary, but I think that at some point I had problems with
the installation and I could solve it by changing the default directories.

2018-12-30 Thread Sergio Celani
Thank you so much for the help. I installed the previous version again.
Since I can't find the first version of the windows installer, I decided to
wait for the next version of the installer, which I guess will not take
long, since the bug is quite serious.

Hi

I continue to try to see what happens with Lyx 2.3.1 on my computer.
I've done a couple of tests.

1. The Lyx.2.3 version opens from the command DOS
C:\WINDOWS\system32>start lyx,
and the program starts without any problem.

Now I try Lyx2.3.1
C:\WINDOWS\system32>start lyx2.3,
but in this case appears a windows saying that it can't find the lyx2.3
file.

2. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.3\bin>

C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.3\bin>start lyx, and the program starts
without any problem.
So,
C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.311\bin>start LyX2.3, and nothing happens.
Also,
C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.311\bin>cmd /K Lyx2.3.exe, and nothing
happens.

I have installed Lyx2.3 ( LyX-230-Installer-6.exe, Uwe version), and
official Lyx 2.3.1 ( LyX-231-Installer-2.exe)
With the official installer LyX-230-Bundle-005.exe I have the same
problems what with the installer of Lyx2.3.1

problema with the instalation of Lyx 2.3.1 in Windows 10

2018-09-17 Thread Sergio Celani
Hi

I have serious problems with the instalation of new version 2.3.1 of Lyx in
Windows 10.
I have been using version 2.3, with the latest installer made by Uwe
(LyX-230-Installer-6), without any problem.
I decided to install version 2.3.1 with the official installer
(LyX-231-Installer-2). It seems to install correctly, but when the
installation is finished it is impossible to start the program.
I have done several tests. I uninstall all Lyx versions (2.2.3 and 2.3), I
reinstall Lyx 2.3.1, but again the program does not want to start.

The same problem occurs with the official installer of version 2.3. But
curiously, with Uwe's version I don't have this problem. '
As last I decided to restore the system and install everything again. But
again 2.3.1 does not boot after a clean installation. Finally, I decided to
go back to version 2.3 with the Uwe installer (LyX-230-Installer-6). This
version works correctly.
I have Windows 10 pro, installed on an Asus computer, System Model
UX490UAR.

I would appreciate any help.

Dear Windows users,

We received a report that the Windows installer lead to an error, so I
would like to get some more testing before we announce the release.

Can you test the installer for 2.3.0?

  ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/bin/2.3.0

If you test, which installer did you test: the "bundle" or the
"installer"?

Did you get a popup from the MiKTeX package manger during the
installation process? If you just close that popup, does everything
continue as normal?

Do you get any other errors? After you install it, are you able to open
Help > User Guide and compile it without error?

Thanks,

Scott

One more question. To install Lyx, I must first install the GPG
signature file? What is the utility of this file ?

Sorry, I'm just learning to use this operating system

problem with toolbars in Mac

2016-09-13 Thread Sergio Celani
Hi

I have a Macbook Air, recently purchased. I am totally newbie, I've always
used computers with windows.

I have installed Lyx and MacTeX and without difficulty. But I can not
fix some of the toolbars. Every time I leave fixed a toolbar (for example,
the Font toolbar, or the Arrows, etc)), I close the program and go back to
run and the toolbar disappears, and returns to the standard toolbar. In
Windows I never had this problem.
Would appreciate any help

You can add the following command in the preamble:

\def\@biblabel#1{\hspace{-\labelsep}}

There will be no indentation (and no number). You can also use
biblabel for other settings.

Francesco
Thank Francesco, but this not solve the problem because the bibliography
is not numbered.
If I export to LaTeX file, open it with Scientific workplace andgenerate
the PDF, the bibliography is correct.

configuration of modified toolbars

2010-05-20 Thread Sergio Celani

Hello users

I modified the original stdtoolbars.inc of LyX 1.6.5. according to my
needs.

1. I added two new toolbars calledLetras griegas y otras and
Sets and Logic.
But in a computer with linux or with windows when I select these two new
toolbar nothing happens in Lyx.
With LyX 2.0 (alpha) there exists the same problem, nothing happens in
Lyx screen.

2. So, if I modified also the file default.ui and I add at the end the
two new lines:

   Toolbars
standard on,top
view/update on,top
extra on,top,samerow
review auto,review,top
vcs off,top
table auto,table,bottom
math_panels auto,math,bottom
math auto,math,bottom
mathmacrotemplate auto,mathmacrotemplate,bottom
minibuffer off,bottom

 setandlogic on,bottom
Letrasgriegasyotras on,bottom

Then, in this case appear now correctly on the screen the new two toobars.

This is correct ? It is necessary to modified the two files ?

Thanks

You don't need to do that. The alternative is to translate them directly in
 the LyX file, see
 http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/I18nLabels

In the next LyX version, the theorems will automatically be translated
according to the LyX document language.

If you want to translate the inc-files anyway, better create a module that
you can easily load in every LyX document. So have a look at the
 theorem-XXX.module files.

If you are then still stuck, report back.

If you don't see it at all, then where did you put your new layout

If it's marked unavailable, then the problem is that the configure.py

varias dudas

2008-11-13 Thread Sergio Celani

Hola
