I just don't installed Python on the first try because I think the bundle version of the installer do not need anyother external package... I have Python 2.3 installed, and LyX ships with a stripped version of Python 2.5. Try this experiment again, but use C:\LyX14\python\python.exe. Stephen, the instructions you gave me worked fine. In C:\texmf\tex\latex\cv I had got only the CV.sty file (why?). Then, I downloaded and copied the cv.cls and it is ok now! Thanks a lot! :-) Abraços! Douglas --- I copied cv.cls to C:\texmf\tex\latex\cv then ran Miktex Options: Refresh Now which is the same as Linux, texconfig/rehash. Then I opened LyX and ran reconfigure and then closed it as directed. This eliminated the error message I reported above with cv.lyx file which is found in \Lyx\...Examples. Thanks a lot! :-) Abraços! Douglas --- I copied cv.cls to C:\texmf\tex\latex\cv then ran Miktex Options: "Refresh Now" which is the same as Linux, texconfig/rehash. Then I opened LyX and ran reconfigure and then closed it as directed. This eliminated the error message I reported above with cv.lyx file which is found in \Lyx\...Examples. I also noticed that there is a cv.sty contained under C:\texmf\sub-dir and that there is a cv.layout file under C:\LyX\resources\lyx\layouts. Regards, Stephen - Yahoo! doce lar. Many document classes
Hello people! How was the X-Mas? :-) Well, I only use the Article class. I'd tried to use many different ones, some classes is strange for me. The subsubsection e.g. stays at the same line of the paragraph that must stays bellow. So, can someone give me some explanation about some lyx main classes, like AMS Article, Book, Report (what is the difference between article and report classes?), etc? Thanks a lot, and a happy 2006 to all! :-) Abraços! Douglas - Yahoo! doce lar. Faça do Yahoo! sua homepage.

Hey Matthew, I'd like to give you my congratulations! I saw your Stellarium and I like it very much! It is a great and funny application! I think you shouldn't use type3 font, because the PDF is not good viewed this way. I think it's nice to use only type1 postscript font, and maybe it will solve your page problem also. Re: Algorithm
Hey Abel, thank you to take care, but I did it and still not working. Neither at preamble nor the start of the Lyx document. Can you check it please? Updating dvi
Hey guys, how are you? Well, I cannot view the newest dvi file when I type ctrl+d. It just launch the old one. I need always to manually delete the dvi file, and then press the ctrl+d again to really view the dvi file with the last modifications. I tried to use the update menu, but it still at the same track. How can I solve it? It is so boring to erase the dvi so many times... Best regards, Douglas ___ Promoção Yahoo! Re: Updating dvi
Thanks Paul, but that not work neither. The Shift+Ctrl+d is the same to ``View-update-DVI'' Douglas: use shift+ctrl+d instead. Paul Abraços! Douglas __ Faça ligações para outros computadores com o novo Yahoo! Messenger http://br.beta.messenger.yahoo.com/

Algorithm
I'm happy because all auto names of LaTeX (like ``2nd February, 2005'', and ``Figure 1'' and ``Table 1'') are translated to portuguese and spanish as I need (like ``20 de outubro de 2005'', or ``Figura 1'', or ``Tabela 1''), but some single words remain in english, like ``algorithm''. Some gohst haunting my Lyx
When I am using Lyx and I wanna swiftly check the output design, I used to press ctrl+d to view the dvi and check everything. The strange thing is: some days I must to erase manualy the generated dvi file -- preventing this way to see the old one. I said sometimes because some days I needn't do that. I tried to update the dvi but has no effect, and the same file at the next day maybe becomes updatable again. Perhaps some gohst haunting my Lyx? :)) -- Abraços! No one answered a simple topic :(
I just wanna know: What's worth to use, PDF (dvipdfm) or PDF (pdflatex)? And why? -- Abraços! Douglas - Promoção Yahoo! Acesso Grátis: a cada hora navegada você acumula cupons e concorre a mais de 500 prêmios! Participe!
Marginal notes
Hi there! :) What can I put inside the preamble to do marginal notes automatically became with a smaller font than the text body? (I want the same size that the auto footnotes). PDF (dvipdfm) X PDF (pdflatex)
I realized that export using the pdflatex do not produce the same pdf output that the dvipdfm. The difference lay between the size of up and bottom margins and the size of the files. Why, PDF (pdflatex) -- build an output with about (e.g. 29kb) and PDF (dvipdfm) -- build an output with about (ex. 53kb). Which one is worth to work on? And what's te advantages and defeats of both that ways? -- Abraços! Douglas ___ Promoção Yahoo! Acesso Grátis: a cada hora navegada você acumula cupons e concorre a mais de 500 prêmios! Re: copy and paste between lyx documents does not work - why not?
I'm using Linux and if I open two LyX documents, I can't copy and paste between the two windows. Oh, you can! It's true! :) I can select text in other windows and paste it by a mouseclick in a LyX window. Why can't I copy/paste between the LyX windows? Then, do the following: Select the text in your first Lyx window, press Ctrl+C, then switch to the other Lyx window and press THE MIDDLE BUTTON OF YOUR MOUSE! :) -- Abraços!
