Using Pilot In Cocktail

2013-12-20 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

A question for those using Cocktail.

In the "Pilot" section of the application you see see 3 buttons marked daily,
weekly and monthly, these buttons control which scripts are run.

Voiceover says they're checkboxes so is Voiceover reading the type of buttons
manually?

The impression I get from reading the Cocktail Help is that these buttons are
in fact radio buttons, that is to say you select either one of the 3 scripts to
be run, Daily, Weekly or monthly.

Am I right in thinking this or can the user select multiple scripts, say run
all the 3 scripts or just run 2 etc.

now how to get to the balance on your card on my iPhone5 in IOS7

Hello all,

How in the world is there an easy way to get to the balance left on a
gift card in my iPhone 5 in IOS7? It seems as though to me, it's a hit and
miss game here. Sometimes I can go to the iTunes store and hit it right on,
but most of the time I can't. Is there a sure fire way of doing this?

Thanks in advance,

GarageBand and instruments

Hi all -

Ok, nobody has come back to me regarding getting started with GB, so maybe
somebody can tell me this: Are there instruments already available within the

interact with the table, I can see certain instruments listed, but can't make

2013-12-20 Thread Phil Halton
I can't help with the new GB - I'm still using the older V6.05
As far as working and getting started in GB, there are many podcasts on the
subject, however, they all deal with the older version. I'm not sure how much
the new GB differs, but you can probably get a good idea from these podcasts.

check www.AppleToTheCore.info

search there for "GarageBand". Please don't say you can't find them - they're
there - check your spelling. There's five in the series and Ricardo should be
able to get you going to some extent.

Hi Andy,
Sorry for the late reply but, what version of garageband are you using?
I only ask because the latest version is completely different from the older
version.

If you are using the new version I got a couple of documents from another

Re: GarageBand and instruments

2013-12-20 Thread trevor

Actually part of that garage band draft was incorrect.
You can! move loops in to your project.

To get the loops into the project, do the following:

1. Find the loop you want, interact with the table (you can audition the
loop with VO space)
2. Route the mouse to the loop with VO CMD F5. (VO F5 to speak what is under
the mouse, should be your loop name spoken here).

3. Do the mouse down thing (VO Shift Command Space).
4. Move over to the tracks area, and interact. Place the cursor over the
“Tracks header group”.

5. Mouse up (VO Shift Command Space).

I also tried moving to different points in the time line and pasing loops,
I am happy to report it drops the loop at that point, so we aren’t limited
to placing loops at the beginning of projects

I can't take credit for all this information, Others did all the work on
another list.

Re: GarageBand and instruments

2013-12-20 Thread Andy Collins
Thanks - I'll take a look tomorrow for these podcasts. Don't worry, I'm not the
kind that gives up easily, so I'm sure I'll find them if they're there -

Re: GarageBand and instruments

2013-12-20 Thread Andy Collins
Thanks Trevor - a bit late here now for playing with this, so will give it a go
tomorrow, as well as searching out podcasts. It would be good to know if I can
expect to have some instrument sound from within the GB app on this Mac, or as
suggested, I will need to download instruments from somewhere. I'm new to all
of this, and don't even know if I'll need a midi player, or if I should be able
to make music from my Mac's qwerty?

Thanks -

The email app on my Mac possibly going rogue

2013-12-20 Thread Laurel And Stockard
First of all, I have to apologize to the list. Earlier, I tried to respond to
somebody's message using the email app on my Mac. Apparently, my message got
sent from my alternate, non-list, email. I did not realize this at all. So,
sorry to the list owners. Now, for my problem. I went to compose A few emails
earlier, and it showed in the "from" field that the message was from my
Laurel.Stockard email address. Apparently though, even though that's what it
showed me in the from field, my message got sent from an outside email address,
my alternate one, which I do not use for list or personal use. Why could this
be happening? And what can I do to make sure that the mail app on my computer
shows me the correct email address in the from field. I don't want to get the
two confused like this again. It really confused me when it sent the message
from a different email other than my Laurel.Stockert email which showed in the
from field. Any help or suggestions on this would be greatly a
 ppreciated.
Thanks
