Select All from the table on the left.
Navigate to a signature in the table on the right. Make sure you interact with
the table.
Press VO-comma to mark the signature for drag and drop.
Wait until the signature is marked for drag and drop, and then press
VO-shift-F3 to turn off cursor tracking.
In the table to the left, navigate to the email account to which you wish to
add the signature. You should probably interact with the table—not that I’m
sure that it’s necessary, but it might be.
Press VO-period to drop the signature here. Once the drop is complete you can
turn on cursor tracking with VO-shift-F3 and navigate to the email account and
see your signature there.
Repeat for all the signatures you wish to add.

Actually I’m looking at a whole new way of doing this, well new for me at any

Re: Addign Signatures To eMail Accounts With Apple Mail

2014-10-18 Thread Dane Trethowan
That’s all very nice until you start working with multiple Mac machines where
signatures are synced, the signatures themselves appear in the “All Signatures”
pane but you have to manually drag them over to the accounts where you want
them, that’s no trouble now I know how its done smile.

If you added signatures and then copied text you’d see multiple items on your
computers, suppose for example you had 2 eMail accounts and you added
signatures for each on each of 3 machines then you’d end up with 6 signatures.

Re: Addign Signatures To eMail Accounts With Apple Mail

2014-10-18 Thread Sarah k Alawami
Oops? yeah that could be an issue. I personally don't use nor will I ever use
text expander as the auto correct feature works fine for me. I can just type a
command and my address properly formatted is added. lol!

Be blessed.

That’s all very nice until you start working with multiple Mac machines where
signatures are synced, the signatures themselves appear in the “All
Signatures” pane but you have to manually drag them over to the accounts
where you want them, that’s no trouble now I know how its done smile.

If you added signatures and then copied text you’d see multiple items on your
computers, suppose for example you had 2 eMail accounts and you added
signatures for each on each of 3 machines then you’d end up with 6 signatures.

You need to drag and drop the sigs from the all mail section to the appropiate
accounts I often create a file for all of my signatures, then just paste them
in the correct account.

Re: Addign Signatures To eMail Accounts With Apple Mail

2014-10-17 Thread Dane Trethowan
I gathered that you had to do some dragging and dropping but not exactly sure
where, I see 2 tables, one on the left has the first row as all signatures and
the next 2 rows in that table are my eMail accounts.

The table to the right of that changes depending on what’s selected in the
table on the left, if all signatures are selected on the left then the table on
the right displays those and if one of the accounts is selected on the left
then the signatures that apply to that account are displayed.

So I take it that I have to select All signatures on the left, select a
signature on the right, select the account on the left and then drag it to
what? The empty panel on the right?

signatures

2013-07-31 Thread Linda C. Knight

Hi all,

I was playing around in mail on the mac last night and I am finding it
difficult to get my signature the way I want it.

It appears that I can't get my signature (see the below signature) on my
email on the mac. Using my windows at the moment as I still have to get
things set up good on the mac.

Can someone on here tell me the best way to do the signature? It looks like
you can only do two lines.

Thank you,

Re: signatures

2013-07-31 Thread Sarah k Alawami
What I do is do it in text edit and then paste it in the sigs dialogue. I have
like 5 or 6 lines of stuff for one of my sigs which I'll put here for an
example. I save each of them in a text file that way I don't' have to do it in
case I have to reinstall mail.

The key is if you have more then 1 account or even 1 account put the sig in
that account's area. so navigate to the first table where you see all then the
accounts. and navigate to yours for example ham email. Then go to the next
table and there will be your sigs. If you see nothing click add new signature
then type the name of the sig you want then paste in the text you want. I'll
show you my longest sig I have. for an example, and if you need to contact me.
lol!

Hth.

You need to actually copy the signatures to the appropriate accounts by
dragging them from all to the email account you want in the sigs tab. ten you
can choose a sig after you check the box that says Place signature above quoted

Hope that helps.

There's probably a better way for for now until someone tells us both a better
way I'll keep going with this one lol!

You need to actually copy the signatures to the appropriate accounts by
dragging them from all to the email account you want in the sigs tab. ten
you can choose a sig after you check the box that says Place signature above

 Hope that helps.

Multiple mail signatures in iOS 5 [was Re: ONE SMALL GRIPE RE: IOS5.1]

2012-04-23 Thread Esther
Hi Gordon,

Multiple signatures for your different email accounts under iOS 5 are still not
supported, but I can suggest two different work-arounds.

First, iOS 5 supports the creation of keyboard shortcuts. If you go to
Settings General Keyboard there's a heading for Shortcuts. The first
entry under Shortcuts gives an example: omw for On my way! If you double
tap on this sample entry, you'll view the detailed shortcut screen for the
example, with text fields for the phrase On my way! and for the shortcut
assignment omw. There's also a description Create a shortcut that will
automatically expand into the word or phrase as you type. You can make any
editing changes in the text fields for the shortcut and phrase, then double tap
the Save button in the top right corner. Or, you can double tap the
Keyboard, back button at the top left corner of the screen to return to the
keyboard settings screen.

Just after the sample omw shortcut is the Add New Shortcut button, which is
also the last element on the screen. So you can always navigate to it with a
four finger tap on the bottom half of the screen. Double tap on this button,
then type in the phrase you want to shortcut in the text field. Then flick
right when you're done to type in the text for your shortcut abbreviation.
Double tap the Save button in the top right corner.

So the way this could work is that you might set up your basic signature in
Settings Mail, Contacts, Calendars Signature (where the default says Sent
from my iPhone), and then customize each additional line you'd like to add by
typing your shortcut.

The main drawback of this method is that you still have to type one shortcut
per line of expanded text.

The other option that I use is to use TextExpander Touch ($4.99 by
SmileOnMyMac) to expand text. You can define multi-line snippets in this app,
and download the basic predefined snippet definitions. Then, if you type
ddate (date with an added d at the beginning), it will expand to the
current date, and in the format that you set up. You could have a multiline
signature that you define as ssig1 (starting with double letters for you
snippet shortcut definitions is good for avoiding confusion with real words).
This lets you customize everything. The main drawback is that iOS apps like
Mail are sandboxed, so you would have to double tap the button to copy to
clipboard, then use the App Switcher to switch to mail, and then paste. Or,
you could compose mail in TextExpander and send it out directly from there, but
that doesn't let you read through your mail and reply.

I'll just note that TextExpander's snippets for HTML and CSS programming are
really clever, and that most good notes, Twitter, and messenging apps will
support TextExpander so you can compose using your custom-defined snippets
within those apps. As for HTML coding, the control sequences will expand and
leave your insertion point between the control elements if you use the
TextExpander HTML snippets. So you don't have to type out starting and closing
elements by hand.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

Hi Sandy,

Sounds good. I think when this came up in the earliest version of iOS 5 there
may have been a limitation in multiple lines?

maybe, this could be the easiest way to go?
Good luck, Sandy,

Finding mail messages and signatures

2012-02-27 Thread Kristeen Hughes
I hope this question makes sense. If you want to find mail messages with a
specific term such as sendspace, do you always have to create a smart mailbox
to view them? I can't figure out another way.

Also, I seem to be unable to create a signature. I can only put something on
the space that says name and I can't press enter and put something on other
lines. Is there a way to do signatures? I did it once before, but wonder what
has changed.

Re: Finding mail messages and signatures

2012-02-27 Thread Bryan Jones
Hi Christine,

Have you tried using the Mailbox Search function in Mail? You can get to it by
pressing Command+Option+F or by navigating through the Edit menu. This will
place your cursor in the Find window and as you type Mail will search through
your mailboxes to find messages containing the terms. The results will appear
in your message list. To get more details on this command, try typing the word
find in the search box found in the Help menu.
