Anyone getting"safari busy," when using ebay?
I've been trying several times to use ebay with safari, and after doing a search then scrolling about maybe halfway or so down the page, I hear "safari busy," then for some reason, voiceover decides to restart itself without me doing anything to it after a period of time after this has happened. Has anyone ever had this happen on their end? I really find this interesting, so would love to know what the deal is here. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: ole aria?
Hi Alex, yeah, OK, I did try the menu extras or whatever it's called, too, and didn't find ole aria, either. I'm trying ti find a daisy reader for the mac or a way to have a way to make bookmarks in a scanned file, akin to k1000 so that I don't have to use a virtualized machine, if possible. I don't have a problem running vm fusion, just am looking for another way, if possible. thanks, Cait On 2013-08-06, at 7:56 PM, Alex Hall wrote: > Press vo-m twice to enter the status menus, where are found wifi, bluetooth, > time, Time Machine, and many other items both from the Mac and from installed > apps. Re: Numbers Under Mavericks
Hi, I don’t see why upgrading to Mavericks would mean you would be forced to use iWorks in the cloud. You would just use the copy of Numbers you’ve been using all a long I would think. This is the way MS office is at least. You can run MS office 2013 on your computer or, use the cloud base service. It’s up to you. I’m just guessing it would be the same with iWork. windows7 VM requires re-activation after migration
I used Migration Assistant to bring over all my settings, apps, etc from my iMac to my new MacBook Air, and all went well. When I first ran my windows7 VM, I had to reauthorize jaws - no problem. Then today, I was prompted to reauthorize windows itself - oh no. Well, I called microsoft and was surprised to get things done with very few hitches. After an initial phone run around, I finally got to Tech Support, and they walked me through a phone activation of my new windows7 install on the MBA, reusing the activation code already in use by the windows7 VM on the iMac. It involved bringing up the phone activation dialog on the MBA by typing "slui 4" in the search box and hitting enter. Next, using the JAWS cursor, I had to read to them a series of 8 groups of six digit/letters, after which they read to me a similar series of 8 groups of six digits/letters which I had to type into 8 edit boxes. amazingly, it worked on the first try, even with the guy's somewhat foreign accent, we got all 16 groups of 6 digits read back and forth without an error. Now, both the iMac and Air windows VM's are activated and I didn't have to buy another key or deactivate the original on the iMac. All in all, Microsoft tech support was a good experience. I thought for sure I would have a nightmare struggling with the microsoft laviathon, but they were fairly easy to reach and okay to deal with. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. can't get key bindings in Webvisum to take
Okay, I managed to get Webvisum installed in to Firefox again. This is the latest stable build of Firefox we're talking about here. No matter what I try, though, I just cannot get new key bindings to stick in the prefs window for Web Visum. I tried typing "cmd 6" just like that but without the quotes for solving a page captcha. I tried "cmd 2" for access to the Webvisum menu. But, somehow, nothing seems to stick. I tried cmd+6 but that didn't work either. What might I be doing wrong? Also, is the new beta for Firefox any better than the latest stable version? I went to: www.sodastreamusa.com and it was a desaster to navigate via Firefox. YoruFukurou Question
Hey all, Been using YoruFukurou a lot more since the death of Google Reader and have learned more of the in and outs. I seem to like to make more use of my lists and have set up tabs for my most commonly used lists. The issue is I am always a few hundred tweets behind. Occasionally I have to restart the computer and when I relaunch YoruFukurou my timeline will fill up with about 200 tweets but my tabs start over with only 20. Is there away for my tabs to go back on launch and retrieve more older tweets as the only frustrating thing is I lose being able to go back and read the tweets I haven't had a chance to go through. Interact with the list and scroll down to the room that you want to join. From there hold control, option, shift then press the spacebar twice. I was just using it last night so I know that it works. Re: OT: torrent for freely available books?
It works perfectly, at least the parts I have used so far, and it is free. I just googled "Utorrent", which worked even though that is not the correct name. Re: OT: torrent for freely available books?
I've found lists of free book resources, and tried several. They are tedious to use, and that Ebook Buffet app it sluggish and confusing. That's why I was hoping for a torrent, or even a zip file, instead. Klifton, I think you said you had such a resource somewhere, or maybe that was someone else? Depending on what app you use to read books, there is a lot of free books on certain sites. Amazon has a kindle buffay, and a lot others. If you search the message arkives, I think someone posted a message about 25 links to get free e-books. Google should even work in this instance.
