I have the same problem.
I contacted AT&T so they could tell this other Robert that I am getting all of
his phone bills.
But it seems that they ignored me, so now I just delete the emails.

RE: Using a "." period in the username of gmail

2015-10-12 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Gary,

I read your post, very carefully and, with all due respect, from Google's
perspective, there is no problem to resolve.

Simply put, a person can use any combination of letters, numbers, symbols, etc,
so long as it is not used by someone else. Unless there is something I am not
understanding, no one has hacked into your gMail account.

The problem is that, somewhere along the way, someone inadvertently entered
your email address into his account.

Were I you, I would send your namesake a very nice email, explaining the
problem. Unless he likes having someone else receive his emails, I'm certain
he will have Sprint correct the error.

Again, assuming I'm understanding your situation correctly, which is by no
means certain, your problem is with Sprint, not Google.

Can anyone help? I need gmail support. I use a period between my first and
last name of my gmail email account. I started receiving emails from Sprint
for a new account that someone created using my email account. After calling
Sprint, they said that there’s another user in a different state with the same
gmail account name, except that they don’t use a period between his first and
last name. My account is gary.robl...@gmail.com, and his is
garyrobl...@gmail.com. Does anyone know how I can report this to Google gmail
to get this resolved? I would like to email someone about it, but haven’t had
success finding a support email link, yet.
 Thanks!

FS:mac book pro, pro tools, iPad mini with Lifeproof case, external hard drive, microphone, interface etc.

2015-10-12 Thread Cameron Strife
Hi everyone. Throwing this out here on list one more time before I
deal with the hassle of e bay and their fees.

If you need a complete portable rig for pro tools, logic, reaper,
sound forge etc, this is it! As well as running the latest version of
the Mac OSX operating system, it runs windows seven, eight, and ten
natively via bootcamp or virtually so you can go that route as well if
you like. I ran windows seven sixty four bit ultimate on it with jaws
sixteen and sonar 8.53 with hsc working with both audio and midi.

15 inch Apple mac book pro with Intel I7 quad core processor at 2.5gHz
per core with turbo boost, 1tb hard drive, sixteen gb of ddr3 ram,
firewire, thunderbolt, glass magic touchpad, sd card reader, yFi,
bluetooth, etc. Machine is in excellent condition, has no issues, and
is a total powerhouse!

full pro tools 11 license with iLok 2.

Mint Resident audio t2 thunderbolt audio/midi interface with new five
meter thunderbolt cable.

Seagate desktop 3tb hard drive with power supply and USB cable. (USB 3
but will also work with a USB 2.0 port.)

SE Electronics 2200AC ld condenser microphone with pad, low pass
filter, custom shock mount, pop filter, documentation, and original
box.

Apple iPad mini 16gb yFi model with griffin survivor style case and a
waterproof premium Lifeproof Nuud case, all of it is mint.

Feel free to make me an offer on any of it, or, all of it.

Thanks,

Cameron.

Re: help adding identity to onePassword

2015-10-12 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi!

If you are tabbing through it and end up in date fields like these, you can use
the VoiceOver keys to adjust it. For example, if it says 10/12/2015, you would
VO-right until VoiceOver would say October 12, 2015. You usually only have to
VO-right once. At this point, you can Interact and then use VO-left and right
to go between month, day and year. Use VO-up and down to adjust the value for
each one. When done, hit Esc and move on, however, do note you can't tab
straight from here into the next field. I recommend you use VO-right to get to
the next one, and you can tab onwards from here if you like.

I can easily understand why this is confusing. It's also worth noting that as
you move with the VoiceOver cursor and land on the date fields, you will often
be taken to the place where you can see the calendar area. When this happens,
you will hear the sound of a new window opening.

They have already submitted the issue regarding labels, and they will look into
that.

Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.

2015-10-12 Thread Cameron Strife
Hey again... Sorry, I sent that before I was done!

The mac drivers are solid and the preamps are very nice! It's bus
powered and the form factor is very small. It is also very durable.

You have two xlr/line inputs, phantom power, midi ports, main stereo
outs with volume control, and two headphone outs with volume controls.

It works great under mac OSX but does not work under windows seven
with bootcamp. I need an interface that works under both platforms and
the product page did not specify that windows seven under bootcamp was
a no go!

Anyways, get in touch if you want a good deal on a mint condition
interface with brand new thunderbolt cable that has been used a grand
total of one time!

Yes, thank you. That explains a lot I'll have to actually use these and report

Re: help adding identity to onePassword

2015-10-12 Thread Christina C.
That worked. Tabbing didn’t work for me because I could not tell what field I
was in, as you stated. I did get stuck in the birthdate area. I had difficulty
figuring out how to fill that part out and just finally got lucky. I’d
appreciate any tips on that if you understand the date better than I did. I
also seemed to get stuck in there with VO. I finally kept hitting escape a lot
of times and then I finally got out of there. I’m just not exactly sure how I
got out of there.

Thanks,
Christina

Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.

2015-10-12 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
I'm actually as well in the market for not so much a mixer, as much as an
audio/midi interface. The interface I now have won't work with El Capitan,
as it's just too old. Plus, it's no longer even being supported by the
manufacturer. So, though I love what I have, the bottom line is, if I want
to get on El Capitan, it's gonna have to be upgraded, bottom line. This
said, does anyone know about the Focusright Scarlet 6I6? Sweetwater is
swearing left and right up and down to me about it saying how they think it
would be absolutely perfect for my need. How're the mac drivers? I hear
they are extremely stable, as they actually just use the OSX core audio,
rather than their own native driver.

Using a "." period in the username of gmail

2015-10-12 Thread Gary
Can anyone help? I need gmail support. I use a period between my first and
last name of my gmail email account. I started receiving emails from Sprint
for a new account that someone created using my email account. After calling
Sprint, they said that there’s another user in a different state with the same
gmail account name, except that they don’t use a period between his first and
last name. My account is gary.robl...@gmail.com, and his is
garyrobl...@gmail.com. Does anyone know how I can report this to Google gmail
to get this resolved? I would like to email someone about it, but haven’t had
success finding a support email link, yet.
 Thanks!

Re: Removing iBooks In El Capitan

2015-10-12 Thread Sabahattin Gucukoglu
This is a follow-up just in case anybody makes the same mistake I did of
assuming that just because iTunes shows you your books, removing iBooks worked.

Sadly, for whatever strange reason, removing iBooks in El Capitan also has the
side effect of preventing all iTunes Store operations. You can’t sign in,
update your apps, or authorise your iDevices. By removing iBooks, iTunes
becomes merely a music player, including audiobooks.

In summary, then, if you were avoiding iBooks because it’s crap, it is time.
Time to beat the festering pile into submission. Make a backup of your
library, ensure you have a copy of your books in their original library, and
unleash iBooks. It will destroy your book structure and metadata, but you’ll
be able to read and sync your books and, as of El Capitan, use the iBooks and
iTunes Store.

Thank you Apple, for giving us choice. I’m speaking, of course, of the choice
between iBooks for Mac or Microsoft Windows.

You win. I surrender.

I hope you won’t remember all your lives that you’re utter bastards. :)

Re: AT&T launches WiFi calling

2015-10-12 Thread Sabahattin Gucukoglu
Interesting; I learned that was all down to AT&T not having provisioned
services for teletype users. Apparently they are now moving to Real-Time Text
services but all their competitors were never impeded from deployment of Wi-Fi
calling while AT&T, who dobbed themselves in, were. Of course rather than
being responsible and helping RTT deployment along, they simply attacked the
FCC for failing to enforce the same setbacks on their competitors. Good old
monopolies; they never disappoint. :)

Re: Hotspots in El Capitan don't stick

2015-10-12 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi,

Hotspots are very useful if you have to move from place to place in a webpage,
or if you need to do one thing in one application and then have to go to
another application and back. So you set a hotspot so that you can jump
immediately to where you were before or close to it before you left the
previous app. For example, Imagine I'm reading a text and I come across a word
I don't quite understand or wish to check the definition of. I open another
application like a dictionary which has lots of fields and elements I need to
navigate through, the two important ones for me being the text entry field and
the definition field. So I set one hotspot for the entry field and another
hotspot for definition field. Now back in my reading, I come across the word
which I want to look up so I press the shortcut key for my hotspot and it takes
me straight to the text field into which I paste or write the word, and then
rather then vo+arrow through various elements of the app, I can jump straight
to the definition field to read the description of what I am looking up.

Hope this explains somewhat.

What's Best to Use For Recording Live Video?

Tune in on more than one device

2015-10-12 Thread Mary Otten
Are used to be a huge user of tuna in on an iPad. I kind of got away from the
app, then came back to it and have found the iPad version rather less than
friendly. So I started using it on my phone little bit. Buy some fluky way or
another, I'm still not sure how, I managed today to actually get it to work on
my iPad. I got logged in and everything.
So I have the same account with the same password on two devices. When I go
into my profile and see what I am following, which is the new way for naming
favorite, I see two very different list of stations. One is the old one from
the iPad days, which has a lot of things in it. The other is the one from my
phone, which has only a very few. Somehow, I would have thought they would have
been amalgamated in One list. But the iPad ones are on the iPad, while the
iPhone ones are on the phone. And there is no overlap or combination. One
account, one email, one password, but two different favored lists depending on
which device I use. Is that others experience as well?

Re: Smart Beetle Display

2015-10-12 Thread Scott Davert
HI David.
The issue isn't with the braille display keyboard commands themselves,
but the keyboard emulation mode HIMS has built in to the Beetle.
Essentially, they have attempted to map out a series of commands on
their braille keyboard which are equivalent to the functionality found
on a bluetooth keyboard.

Re: help adding identity to onePassword

2015-10-12 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi!

When interacting with the details table, you can use VO-left and right to get
to the appropriate field, then interact with it to edit. For instance, there
are sections for different kinds of information, like identification. Below
that, you will see First Name. Interact with that, then VO-right to enter your
name. Keep doing this for each one. You can also tab through them, although the
labels do not read with VoiceOver this way.

Going to file a request to see if something can be done about that. I've always
done it by using the VoiceOver cursor, and I rarely tab through, so I didn't
think about that.

help adding identity to onePassword

2015-10-12 Thread Christina C.
Hi,

In onePassword, I went to file, new, then identity. I found the table where I
add my name and such. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to
get into the fields and enter my information. I’m in the main Password app, not
the mini or the web extension.

I’d appreciate any help with this.

Christina

Re: Network printer vs wireless printer?

2015-10-12 Thread Scott Granados
Also, remember most printers have a web server in them, I know my HP does. You
can browse to it’s IP, set the password first and let it detach from the
network, change your routers password and allow them to resent and bam, you’ve
done it independently.

Just a possible work around.

Re: one password questions

2015-10-12 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi!

Yes, it can. If the app has implemented the 1Password extension, you will see a
1Password icon on the appropriate screens. Of course, if they haven't yet, you
can always suggest that they do. Of course, in the case of apps that use either
Twitter or Facebook, you can just enter those details into the settings app
under Twitter/Facebook, and alert should pop up when you want to log in asking
if you want to allow permission to that information.

To get an idea of which apps work with 1Password, see here:
https://blog.agilebits.com/1password-apps/

Yes, several. As an important one, iCloud Keychain only works with Safari,
and no other browsers. 1Password supports Safari, Chrome and Firefox, and
also works with Safari and Chrome on iOS. While iCloud Keychain doesn't
require a master password unlike 1Password, as it can use the built-in
authentication frameworks, you can change how frequently you are required
to enter the master password. Additionally, you can use Touch ID on iOS.

Another difference is that iCloud Keychain will automatically fill in
logins when you click to log in, although you can simply use a keyboard
shortcut for this when using 1Password. It can either submit automatically
or simply fill in the appropriate fields without doing anything else. The
same applies to iOS, although you'll need to use the Share sheet here with
1Password. Essentially, these are just different ways of doing the same
 thing.

1Password seems to organize everything better, however, as it provides
more categories. it isn't just for passwords and credit cards, although if
you primarily use Safari on both OS X and iOS and only want to deal with
passwords and credit cards, the iCloud Keychain does offer a good user
experience. I use 1Password to store passports, credit cards, secure
notes, passwords as well as software licenses. I think it has about 17
 categories to choose from.

You can also attach files to your passwords and credit cards. I don't
believe the iCloud Keychain provides this feature, but if it does, I'm
more than happy to be corrected. I have only used it during a very brief
time, but those were my impressions of it.

Hi Traci,

In general, I recommend against using AirPort. Although inconvenient, using a
network printer has two advantages in practice: you get native driver and/or
AirPrint support for the printer, which depending on the printer is
indistinguishable from a wired connection, and you can use any operating system
and/or network service that your printer is capable of using such as
CloudPrint. Note that AirPort only supports Mac and Windows, but not AirPrint
with iOS.

I really do feel your pain though. A very workable compromise, and the one I
favour, is to connect using Ethernet. An Ethernet configuration that is
automatic, i.e. DHCP and/or SLAAC for addresses and Bonjour or WSDL for
discovery, will work whichever network you plug your printer into, and no
matter what you change your Wi-Fi password or router to.

I hope it helps.

Cheers,
Sabahattin

Second answer is no it will not be on the network unless you leave the computer

Hi all,

We currently have our printer upstairs set up as a wifi printer. For the most
part, this works out well. The biggest drawback is when I change our wifi
password, I am unable to change it on the printer on my own.

So, I’ve been wondering about connecting the printer to our airport extreme.
Those of you that print this way, can you tell me more about it? Is set up &
printing documents pretty seamless? If I connect the printer via the USB port,
it won’t be on my wifi network, correct?

Thank you for any info,

Re: Nisus, Word, or pages?

2015-10-12 Thread Nicolai Svendsen

Hi!

I found that Word didn't seem to expose tables the same way Pages did.
For instance, even though I'd see tables in the document body, I'd also
see those tables outside of the document and I'd be able to work with
them from there. That just confused me. I am not sure if this has been
changed or not in Pages, since I am no longer using it.

You can work with tables in Word just fine when I was using 2016, but
both Pages and Word miss one important capability that I need. I can't
jump to items included in a table of contents. VoiceOver sees them in
either application, but I can't find any way to use them.

As of yet, I personally don't find these apps efficient or productive
enough to use them regularly, but that could either be because I just
suck at using them, or because I need to change the group mode VoiceOver
is using. Seeing all those items isn't necessarily efficient if you
don't need to use them, and I feel that with VoiceOver they get in the
way. Maybe the content chooser and window spots will be of great help here.

The partition is otherwise usable, but don’t move anything already put there by
the installer. Only add files. Although it would theoretically be possible to
slice up the disk and use only one slice for the installer, I don’t think
that’s what the CreateInstallMedia tool (and, by extension, DiskMakerX, which
uses it) does. I can try it out sometime and let you know if it’s a
possibility, though.

Re: AT&T launches WiFi calling

2015-10-12 Thread Scott Granados
Both are right. On one hand, if you design the network correctly there
shouldn’t be a need but in the real world especially in large countries with
diverse geography it can be useful. Carriers with high frequency spectrum say
2 ghz and above have real problems penetrating to the center of buildings.
WiFi calling can really solve this problem in the large office building
setting. Other carriers use lower frequencies like the 700 and 600 mhz band
and this frequency can penetrate in to the building much more effectively
making WiFi less of a need. I personally like having both but both modes LTE
and WiFi calling support wide band audio which I really like.

Re: AT&T launches WiFi calling

2015-10-12 Thread Scott Granados
+1, the calling experience on the 6 with WiFi calling is far better, far better
yet on the 6S than the 5S. T-Mobile supported it because they had used WiFi as
a method to fill in holes in their network, especially building penetration
problems. AT&T didn’t have such issues so they waited to implement WiFi
calling for phones. They did h ave a FemtoCell solution that used Ethernet and
public Internet to deliver a local cell signal but not direct to phone.

2015-10-12 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Have you checked out working with tables in Ms Word on the mac? it's quite
often a deal breaker for many of us who need to be able to access tables.

I checked the latest Ms Word and it looks as though something has been fixed
there. Earlier i wasn’t able at all to read large documents or in fact
documents over 1 page in length, but now even larger documents can be read. As
for other bugs i don’t know.

Re: Anyone successfully use Abby Fine Reader since upgrading to El Capitan

2015-10-12 Thread Brian Fischler
Ray well I fail to see how that helps me at all considering it does not work at
all for me running El Capitan. Great it hears to work for you but it does not
work for all of us and the site claims they do support it, so they really need
to update it since El Capitan has been out for a few weeks now.

 Hi,
Doesn’t look like El Capitan is supported yet. Just found this link on
 the ABBYY website.

 Hope this helps,
