Re: Any Tips on Using the Zoom Cloud Meeting App, for iOS?

2019-05-02 Thread Lorie McCloud
I use this app a lot. no. they don't spam you. I don't remember how I signed
up, whether I signed in with facebook or used a password.

typically I'm using "join a meeting". this means you have the zoom i.d. for a
meeting being established by somebody else. they'll send you a link to join.
take the numbers that are in that link and input them into the field. there
will be 6 or 7. there are choices to make before you join. your screen name
will be whatever you used when you sign up. you can alter this if you wish by
tapping on "screen name". there's "turn off my audio" which I never use and
"turn off my video" which I almost always use. if your video's off nobody will
be able to see you but your name will be there. if you want to text chat you
have to tap on "participants" first and then you'll find chat. you can send to
another individual attendee or the whole group. if there's a lot of text
chatting going on I sometimes have to turn my speech off so I can hear the
presentation.

I don't know as much about starting a meeting. I think you can send out a link
to people who want to participate. with a free account your time is limited
unless there are only 2 participating. not sure if you can record using the
phone or not but I know you can on the computer.

ask questions and if I know the answers I'll pass them along.

I am now using IOS Firefox, as Safari doesn't work very well for me. You can
select autofill within that app, and you can download lockbox to use with it.

USBC Audio Interface suggestions for Mac Mini

2019-05-02 Thread 'Dan' via MacVisionaries
Hello list,
Because the Mac mini doesn't have any audio inputs, here is a question.
I'm looking for a general purpose microphone and line in device for a USBC port
on my mac mini.
Also, I will probably be installing windows 10 also. So this device should be
able to work with either mac or windows.
So let me further explain.
I want a device for a USBC port that has a few microphone inputs as well as a
few line in connections.
Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Re: iCloud Status in Finder

2019-05-02 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

It doesn't read it properly when you just navigate across it, but if you
VO-space on the item, it will either download it, or tell you that it is
"Downloaded". It seems like it's kind of like the iCloud Status column in
iTunes where it's either "In iCloud" with the option to download, or it's local
and available for off-line use. You are correct though in that the initial VO
announcement of its status is problematic.

RE: Any Tips on Using the Zoom Cloud Meeting App, for iOS?

Hi mark,

I've used it with chat for work and as part of a chat group you just use the
chat tab and ckick the chat room so to speak and type in the text box.

As for meetings,
No you can setup free meetings with friends and it will only require a meeting
ID which should be given when you setup a meeting.

It's very usable on the IOS platform.
I believe if you wanted to connect to another person you can use their email
address as a contact method.

Hello Everyone,

I just downloaded the Zoom cloud meeting app, for iOS.

As I have never used a cloud meeting app, before, I would appreciate any tips
for using it with VoiceOver.

What do I need to get started, just an email address?

I hope this is not another one of those apps that begins to spam you with
unsolicited emails, once you sign up for a quote, free, quote, account.

Thank you,

It will possibly depend on the type of keyboard setup you have as in your
keyboard language .

By default the ~is the key to the left of the number 1 key on the number row
This is a standard key layout of a qwerty keyboard
At least for the English language keyboard.

Subject: Re: Switching among documents on pages?

Hi,

On my keyboard the Tilda is the key to the right of the left shift key - it is
the accent key so to get the Tilda you use shift and accent

Hope this helps

Hello,
this is driving me absolutely insane.
I want to switch among two, three or more documents on pages, using a shortcut.
When I took a look on google, people's instructions are to hit command plus
tilde, but I just can't figure out which key is this "tilde" on my keyboard.
So, what should I do to do what I want? create a shorcut? modify a particular
shorcut?
I'm using a macbook pro late 2013.
Thanks for any help.

iCloud Status in Finder

2019-05-02 Thread Kelly Ford
Hi,

If I go to my iCloud folder on the Mac and open view options, there is a
check box to turn on iCloud status for files. Does VoiceOver read this
status in any of the views? So far I've not found any changes with this
column on that I could detect.
