I should have said to look at the books app on your iPhone, under the reading
now tab you should find your account right at the top of the screen. Directly
under the reading now heading.

Stupid question and I am sure you have looked but you might need to do it on a
Mac - check your account details and purchases do they not show there?

Re: Strange issue with the IPHone playing split tracks.

2020-05-13 Thread Jessica Moss
I didn’t think it was an EQ issue either, but decided to try it just to see if
it changed anything, and unfortunately, that did nothing. I didn’t notice this
actually until iOS 13 came out, and it would just channel them and the function
that used to be available, which was to tilt the phone, then hold it as if I
were going to answer a call, and it would bring those channels to the center,
but I had to continue to hold it straight and not lay it flat, or they would
separate again. However, with the onset of iOS 13, that feature seems to have
disappeared.

Strange issue with the IPHone playing split tracks.

2020-05-13 Thread Jessica Moss
I’ve noticed recently, that the feature before iOS 13, where you could simply
tilt your phone if you were playing a split track and wanted it to play in
stereo instead, seems to no longer be in existence. Perfect example, if I
wanted to here “Aquarius” by “the Fifth Dimension,” I can barely hear the lead
vocalist, and what I can here sounds far away. However, if I were to listen to
that same track on headphones, I could hear both, but the channels for this
track are separate, so I’d end up hearing the lead vocalist in my right ear,
and everything else in my left ear. Is there a feature I’m missing as far as
fixing this, or is it just something we just have to live with for a while?

Hmm, that’s all I could find. Never mind. I’m going to get some more anyway.
I’m not that worried about it as I’ve had this blank CD for years. I burned
about 480MB worth of audio books on to another blank Disc I had a couple of
days back and it was the same brand so I’m guessing this one is probably around
600MB.

Re: Body Cams

2020-05-13 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
All this discussion on Cains reminds me that I need a new one, nothing as
exciting as other people tripping over it. Just the elastic is stretched to
much now and it’s not holding straight any more. I only found this out as my
guide dog had to go to the vet and I needed to use my cain when I got to work
the other day. As I work in an old persons home I don’t like to use it at work
for the same reasons already mentioned. I’d rather not send the oldies flying.

That’s rather small. I’d read a little further down, it should be more like

On a Mac, if you insert the CD into your drive, it should show up on the
Desktop as an ejectable item. Either open the Untitled CD and check in the

Here is one for you. Around 2008 when all the office shooting was going around.
I was in the break room when they had the New York shooting showing to a full

a telescopiccane, and when it snapped the sound was like a gun going off. I
never heard some many people hit the floor.
Everyone had a good laugh. I told the guy that broke my cane, “Thanks, Now your
my eyes until I leave work. He found someone by the end of day to make shift up
a cane sub just to get me home. I told him I had spares and thanks for have the

Thanks Tim,
I’ll check that after my breakfast. I was going to just transfer the books on
to a USB stick for her but she doesn’t have USB in the car as far as she
knows, although it would be easy enough to find out. But I don’t think she
knows what a USB port looks like anyway and she understands CDs. I’m 14 years
her senior and I understand Technology better than she does.

Re: Setting up Logictech K780 keyboard

2020-05-13 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
Unfortunately the one time I did have this installed, I had to have my sighted
son help me because the app is not accessible. The app is necessary to be able
to change the behavior of the function keys. When you first get it the function
keys will activate things like brightness and the like. This means you have to
hit the function key along with the Keys to perform things like routing the vo
cursor.

Hi,

On a Mac, if you insert the CD into your drive, it should show up on the
Desktop as an ejectable item. Either open the Untitled CD and check in the
Status bar for the amount of remaining space (you may need to press cmd-slash
to make the Status bar visible), or press cmd-i to Get Info on the CD and the
available space will be listed.

Re: Strange differences using Bluetooth keyboards

2020-05-13 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

There are some bugs in the iOS and iPadOS keyboard interfaces. QuickNav does
not behave properly in apps like Mail and Messages, VO-space does odd things in
many edit fields and when trying to activate items in these apps and more.
Apple is aware of these, but you might wish to add your voice to the issue with
Apple Accessibility so that it is addressed quicker.

Podcasts OS X app

2020-05-13 Thread Ronald van Rhijn
Hi all,

I have been trying to get up and running with the new Podcasts app on Catalina,
but drives me nuts.
There are some podcasts already, but doesn’t let me play another one for
instance. How do I select another one?
On the internet I read sighted users have to hover above a podcast to get to
see the player controls and options. As far as I can see the player controls
are already visible, only the options are not. The only options I manage to see
is while on a podcast pushing vo+shift+M for the contextmenu. There are some
items to choose from such as add to library and save etc. Are these all the
options there are?

Unfortunately I have already learned from an older thread here on the list the
downloaded files arent’ located in the iTunes Media folder with original names
anymore for easy backup. Really disappointing.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ronald

Strange differences using Bluetooth keyboards

2020-05-13 Thread joseph hodge
I have the Apple Magic keyboard with numpad and the same keyboard without and
notice subtle differences when using them and how Voiceover behaves on IOS. In
mail when using the keyboard without the numpad when selecting a message focus
pulls you over to the beginning of the email. When using the keyboard with the
numpad it doesn’t making me hav to move by container or VO j if that works. Do
you guys notice shuttle differences or am I just crazy?

A lot of what I've purchased I've lost from my phone and iPod where I keep a

Mind you,
I’m sure I could hit someone around the ankle and they would definitely
complain.

And as I use a folding cain,

Not only does my cain break but they tend to fall over to which I say,
Well that probably hert, and how do I get home due to your clumsiness!?
