Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.
Hi. The unit should include a firewire cable... Depending on your mac, you'll need a thunderbolt adapter, or, maybe a firewire 400 to firewire 800 adapter. Both are pretty cheap. Cameron. Also if you’re looking for a high end mixing option for reasonable money check out the Behringer DDX3216 which has ADAT direct interfaces, AES/EBU, flying faders, programmable control surfaces, all the various time codes and so forth. Very powerful device for about your price point. Not sure if you want to go that complicated though. You can set up a full 16 track ADAT system or direct to disk with a console like that. I have had good luck with them. Thanks Cameron your help here is appreciated. Will check those models out. I reside in Australia so prices would be in AUD. Pretty sure there are some DJ shops that can help me out. Hi. You could go for the Mackie Onyx 1220I which is a small format mixer with four Onyx mic preamps, line in inputs, EQ, phantom power, and a built in 24 bit firewire audio interface. It goes for $650. Or, if you don't need tactile EQ etc, you could go for the Mackie Onyx Blackbird which is a 24 bit firewire audio interface with eight Onyx mic preamps, phantom power, midi ports etc. It goes for $500. Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.
I do, but that's just more gear I would have to buy, and right now, finances are very limited due to family medical expenses which have been unexpected. Right now, I can't afford both a hub as well as a mixer/interface. The interface alone is gonna absolutely kill me, but at this point, it has to be done, like it or not. If you know of any further devices which could work, let's talk off list. clgillan...@gmail.com As for keeping things on the list, aside from a hub, is there any other way I could daisy chain, or the like which would be mac, and more specifically El Capitan compatible? Right now, I'm using the M-Audio Fasttrack C400 audio/Midi interface. Now, if anyone can find me compatible El Capi drivers? I'll be one heck of a happy camper, but I've looked practically everywhere and don't see anything. Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.
Actually, that's not going to work for me, as I need USB. Long story short, I'm using a monitor which currently is plugged to my thunderbolt port, and seeing that I do! have some usable vision, I really do not wish to disconnect it. Sorry. This is why I asked about this particular Scarlet interface. Re: Mixer and Mike recommendations for podcasting.
Hi. The blue spark is an amazing microphone for the money. As for a small format mixer, the mackie Onyx line has great microphone preamps and very nice EQ etc. Have a look at those. The drivers are very stable as well. Cameron. Hi Cameron, A product between AU$900 to 1000 would be great. I probably want to record myself as Wellers VoiceOver output from the Mac. Hi. I can certainly give you some recommendations... What's your budget? How many channels of audio do you plan to record at a time? Cameron.
