Re: Symphonic Orchestra Jampack for Garage Band

2012-01-03 Thread Chris Blouch

Dunno why but it's available on Amazon for $123:

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Garageband-Jam-Pack-Orchestra/dp/B0008GLGRM

At that price you might just find it worth it to buy Mainstage 2 which I
believe gives you the right to download all the jam packs (about 20GB)
for free. Quite a deal at $30 US, even if you could care less about
mainstage itself.

Re: Symphonic Orchestra Jampack for Garage Band

2012-01-01 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
I'd like to know is Jam Pack some kind of software? I've not played with
Garage band yet, but if I did, are there instruments already in there? I am
thinking of putting something together if there are instruments in garage band
but not sure where to start and wonder if its simple. If I could put some
tracks together of my own making using Garage Band then that would be a good
thing to do! Bearing in mind I have no keyboard as I sold the last one as it
was too visual for me.

I messed around with Garage Band some last summer, but found it pretty limiting

Hi Nektarios,
I am using midi for the instruments. My interface is an MAudio Key Studio 49
key model. It works very well, and it has buttons to change octaves of the
instruments. For the voice, I'm using a Blue Yeti USB microphone which has
three different patterns, stereo, mono with two spaces, and mono with one
space. The best part about that mic is that there is a head phone jack on it
which will let you hear not only the sound from the mic itself, but which will
pass along the output of GarageBand so that you can sing or whatever without
hearing a delay which is usual with a usb connection.

Friendly,

Re: Symphonic Orchestra Jampack for Garage Band

2012-01-01 Thread Chris Snyder
Hi Ricardo,
I wonder why Apple stopped selling them. Do you think they plan to release
something better? Having those jam packs has so vastly improved my GB
experience that I can't imagine being limited to GB without them. I hope
they're not trying to push everyone into Logic without making sure it's
accessible.

Friendly,
Chris

Right now, I am still using sonar under Windows xp for my audio needs but I

I am using midi for the instruments. My interface is an MAudio Key Studio 49

instruments. For the voice, I'm using a Blue Yeti USB microphone which has
three different patterns, stereo, mono with two spaces, and mono with one
space. The best part about that mic is that there is a head phone jack on it
which will let you hear not only the sound from the mic itself, but which
will pass along the output of GarageBand so that you can sing or whatever
without hearing a delay which is usual with a usb connection.
