Re: vm fusion or bootcamp
Hi! What do you mean that the boot process isn't accessible? I haven't seen any trouble so far. Also, the downside to Fusion is that, if you don't allocate the proper amount of memory to your system, you will get what is called a "memory swap". This means that Mac OS X and your virtual machine will be fighting for your RAM, though this is mostly noticeable when running Windows as a virtual machine. In Bootcamp, you do not run into this kind of limitation and your Mac can use all your system resources, ensuring maximum efficiency. So, given how quickly your Windows operating system actually boots, it won't really matter much, especially not if you find a way to transfer files between both systems if Mac OS X is shut down. There are several possibilities for this. Regards, Nic GoogleTalk: chojiro1...@gmail.com Facebook Twitter Skype: Kvalme MSN Messenger: nico...@home3.gvdnet.dk Yahoo! Re: vm fusion or bootcamp
Go with fusion, I use it my self and love it. Fusion allows you to run both windows and your Mac OSX environment at the same time. Boot Camp only allows you to use one at a time. Also, the boot process with boot camp isn't accessible I don't believe. I don't think it's impossible to use but it's not as clean. Fusion also allows you to run other operating systems as a VM including your favorite *nix flavors. As for the audio, the latest release leveld out the gain between the Mac and the VM sound so it's more smooth and your Voice over doesn't swamp out JFW as an example. Hope that helps. Re: vm fusion or bootcamp
Hello: Personally, I recommend VM fusion. The update to fusion which was just released seems to have fixed the audio issues. At least, the ones I noticed. Additionally, using Fusion lets you still run mac programs while doing stuff in a windows environment. My understanding is that bootcamp doesn't allow this. As I personally only use fusion for mudding and a bit of audio editing I still haven't mastered under the mac, I don't see the need to boot into windows, do what I need to do, then reboot back into the mac OS. Just my opinion. -John On 12/10/10, Chris Westbrook wrote: > I'm thinking I am going to put windows on my mac. IS vm fusion better than > bootcamp?
