Yes of course. Everything is fine except in the Home Videos
category. And the odd thing is that within iTunes on the Mac its in
better shape but still not quite right. Very strange.

M4V. The 'missing' titles seem to be ones I added back in September, about
the time I upgraded to Mojave. And perhaps iTunes 12.9 at that time.

Hi Tim,
I am spinning my wheels on ice regarding iTunes. I booted High Sierra
from its USB drive. It has iTunes version 12.8 (current is 12.9).
I wanted to see if my home videos were there but the 12.8 will not read a
database file created in the newer version.

Any idea what or how Apple TV accesses iTunes content? Content from the
iTunes store is fine, its just Home Videos. This is so weird because the list
of Home Videos is different in both ATV and in the iTunes list inside the
Movies section. An example is in one genre in iTunes there are 37 titles where
in ATV its 41 which is correct. In ATV one genre is missing and the titles that
should be in there are in a different genre but its correct in iTunes.

Any thoughts on how to get all this in sync? I had tried moving the .itl
file to see if it would be recreated but iTunes will not open without it.
Thanks Tim!

On the ATV the home videos show up in the Movies category. In the

the plug to see if it sets things straight. No I don't use iTunes Match

Re: iTunes Library Issues

2019-01-28 Thread 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries

Hi Tim,
I am spinning my wheels on ice regarding iTunes. I booted High
Sierra from its USB drive. It has iTunes version 12.8 (current is 12.9).
I wanted to see if my home videos were there but the 12.8 will not read
a database file created in the newer version.

Any idea what or how Apple TV accesses iTunes content? Content from
the iTunes store is fine, its just Home Videos. This is so weird because
the list of Home Videos is different in both ATV and in the iTunes list
inside the Movies section. An example is in one genre in iTunes there
are 37 titles where in ATV its 41 which is correct. In ATV one genre is
missing and the titles that should be in there are in a different genre
but its correct in iTunes.

Any thoughts on how to get all this in sync? I had tried moving the
.itl file to see if it would be recreated but iTunes will not open
without it. Thanks Tim!

Hi,

So, these are videos that you've ripped yourself that are not in the

navigating from within the Computers section on the ATV?  Otherwise,
there's no real reason for them to be exactly the same as Home videos
are not stored in the Cloud.  This is also rather odd, as it is usually
the other way around, where The Apple TV does not display all the titles
that the Mac does.  Do you know which titles are missing?  Have you
searched for them from within the Finder?

I decided to start over, empty the Home Videos folder and put all
the titles into the 'automatically add' folder. Most of the missing
titles were from September which is when I upgraded to Mojave so no
telling what happened. I will copy the videos to the 'automatically add'
folder while I sleep tonight. (grins)

In my experience using enter to open iTunes will stop this.
When you use VO space, sometimes the option key can be held down to long,
which is the key you hold while opening iTunes to choose or create a
library.

Right, the command to creat a new library, or choose an existing one,

More than likely, when you are doing option-I, it is recognizing the

In my experience using enter to open iTunes will stop this.
When you use VO space, sometimes the option key can be held down to long,
which is the key you hold while opening iTunes to choose or create a
 library.

Re: transfer iTunes library issues

2011-09-04 Thread Red.Falcon
Hi Traci!
Yes I had this problem as well!
So unfortunately using a shortcut key does have this effect!
What I've done is to move Itunes in the doc next to the finder and therefore
open the doc and arrow once to Itunes and then press enter!
No more choosing library! :]
In case you need to know to move something in the doc is [when sitting on the
item in question] like Itunes, just press down option+command then use the
arrows to move the item!
Vo will tell you what you are moving and what you are moving passed!
And when you get to the place you want to put the item just release the option
and command keys and your done!
And of course this will work on anything else you might want to move in the doc!

Re: transfer iTunes library issues

2011-09-04 Thread Red.Falcon
Hi Traci!
Well I only set up my shortcut using the open application option in the
shortcut menu!
But I should think if you delete that script and just remove the [I] shortcut
you'll be OK!
Then of course you can use [I] for something else!

Wow, let's hope, by me opening up iTunes the traditional way, this won't
happen to me again. I can go in and remove that apple script, right?

 Thanks,
 Traci
Fingers crossed, it is this easy! Lol!
