You'd think that if you click use voiceover that wouldn't be the case, but not so, You need to uncheck use voiceover then check speak menus. Use voiceover then gets dimmed, but then it get's checked automatically. Why they did it this way I don't know, I'm guessing it's for the people who only want to hear the song name announced. nano micro-management
Hi everyone, Just took the nano out of its box, and i'm worried for a lot of things that might happen to it. It scratches against my keys, it slips through my big hands, it flies through the room when i take the earbuds out, and a lot of other unexpecteds. Does anyone else feel like i do when they baught this thingy? I say thingy because its way smaller than i expected, considering the box which i couldn't open at the apple store. It shouldbe called the pico for that matter. I just hooked it up, and went through the registration etc, and found out the voice over kit inclusion was checked. Now i have an ipod micro i wish to manually fill with content. There is no where i can find something about doing that. Or does anyone have a link to it? I mean, it's great to miniaturize to this point a bit of metal with a vidcam, but for now i'm left with an itunes filled with podcasts, videocasts in playlist, but have yet to add some music. but i don't want to synch the whole thing. Not that it's gonna be bothersome to fill 8 gigabytes of educational stuff, but i want this unit to be my music gum stick. Does anyone have a link or sort of an explanation to cut right through this moelcular device? Sorry for the flurry of questions, but as usual i'm trying to cram as many in one to hopefully get sent a link which might answer all that. Feel like tonight will be dedicated to figuring it out :) best Yuma --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: nano micro-management
Hi Yuma, You can automatically sync any iPod you like and have the settings completely separate from those of other iPods. You can, for example, sync all audiobooks to your iPhone and sync whichever music playlists you want to your iPod. You can also manage the music on your iPod manually if you want. When the iPod is connected, focus on its name in the Source list and tab to the tab control. Choose Summary and check Manually Manage Music if you want to do it that way. Or if you want to sync automatically, make sure that check box is unchecked. Then switch to the Music tab. Choose Selected PLaylists if you only want to sync part of your iTunes library. Then a list of all your playlists will appear; check the playlists you want to sync. Podcasts are managed separately from music; their behavior is controlled on the POdcasts tab. Again, you can sync all or selected podcasts, and you can determine whether you want all unplayed episodes, the most recent episodes, and various other criteria. If you choose to sync unplayed episodes, any episode you listen to is deleted automatically the next time you connect your iPod to your computer. Re: nano micro-management
Ok I'm going to give you a condensed answer to your questions, and that's why I'm top posting here. So here goes. 1. About the size, I'd recommend looking into some of the cases available for the nano. They may help add girth. I can't recommend one yet but I'm looking at the iSee clear case or the incas clip, although it has mostly bad reviews. I like that it has a clip on it though. the iSee clear case has a headphone wrap on it. 2. In itunes when you connect the ipod you can uncheck the options to include videos, and podcasts, movies and whatever else you don't want. in the main ipod screen there are tabs for each. 3. Be sure to check Read Menus under the voiceover settings to have VO read the menus, or you'll just get clicks.
