Re: [maemo-developers] GPE PIM applications for Maemo progress
2006/1/11, Florian Boor [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi all, we just updated binary packages and sources for the Maemo port of the GPE PIM applications. Binary packages and sources are available from http://oss.kernelconcepts.de. All sources can be found in GPE CVS at handhelds.org too. If you are interested what is going on check out http://handhelds.org:8080/gpe/timeline. The next steps will be support for alarms and syncing... Greetings Florian First of all, many thanks for your efforts in porting these fundamental applications in 770! I'm trying your 4 updated packages, and all is well; nice improvement! I have noted only a freeze trying to set an alarm for a new event in the calendar app. The freeze happens clicking on the save button after enabilng the alarm, the only way to exit is kill the app from xterm (killall gpe-calendar). Probably exiting in such a way disrupts the /home/user/.gpe/calendar file, because deleting this file was the only way to make me able to start the application another time. ___ maemo-developers mailing list maemo-developers@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
Re: [maemo-developers] GPE PIM applications for Maemo progress
Cool update!! Perhaps some developers could join bedoi effort to have a maemo-desktop-plugin to show the appointments and todo summary, or just port gpe-summary as a maemo-desktop-plugin, instead of the clock that shows maemo. I will update Spanish localization soon. Hi, I did not install the new versions yet, but I will. I just like to say, that the N770 would be mostly useless for me without decent PIM applications. Nokia should consider integrating the GPE PIM things, so that people could use the GPE PIM contacts in the Nokia mail application etc. Thanks for GPE PIM, it's really nice and I like it definetely better than the PIM stuff on my Zaurus 5500. Hello, First of all, many thanks for your efforts in porting these fundamental applications in 770! yw :-) I have noted only a freeze trying to set an alarm for a new event in the calendar app. Thats a bad bug, indeed... i was able to reproduce this. It might be related to the missing support for alerts on this platform. Damaging the database is really complicated. I suppose reading this event or checking its scheduling status causes it to freeze right on start. Hi, W. Borgert wrote: I just like to say, that the N770 would be mostly useless for me without decent PIM applications. Nokia should consider integrating the GPE PIM things, so that people could use the GPE PIM contacts in the Nokia mail application etc. this would be pretty easy. The contacts databse code is split from the application to a separate library. It is really simple but should be more than enought to fit the needs of the mail application. In fact it looks like the whole gpe-contacts is smaller than the code in osso-mail to store contacts ;-) Thanks for GPE PIM, it's really nice and I like it definetely better than the PIM stuff on my Zaurus 5500. yw :-) Greetings Florian -- The dream of yesterday Florian Boor is the hope of todayTel: 0271-771091-14 and the reality of tomorrow.Fax: 0271-771091-19 [Robert Hutchings Goddard, 1904][EMAIL PROTECTED] 6C 44 30 4C 43 20 6B 61 16 07 0F AA E6 97 70 A8 ___ maemo-developers mailing list maemo-developers@maemo.org https://maemo.org/mailman/listinfo/maemo-developers
Re: [maemo-developers] GPE PIM applications for Maemo progress
Hello, I have noted only a freeze trying to set an alarm for a new event in the calendar app. i uploaded new packages for libschedule and gpe-calendar which should fix this issue to http://www.kernelconcepts.de/~fuchs/nokia770/experimental. I didn't try so far... that needs to wait till tomorrow, i really need to get some sleep. Sources for both changes are available from CVS...
