Let me fix this

They seem to host a spammer/abuser whose abuse has been detected by CSS,
SBL, Spamcop, and likely many others. The abuse is so egregious that it
is also listed by Spamhaus DROP, which is not the easiest list to get
into. Perhaps allowing this abuser or group of abusers to spam from
multiple IP addresses over a long period of time wasn't your best decision.

What are you going to tell them, that the marketer is legitimate and
advertising for legitimate companies?

Do you intend to lie to them and try to convince them that the spammer
is legitimate and advertising for legitimate companies only to those who
have given permission despite substantial evidence to the contrary? This
probably won't work.

Or that they follow best practices in email marketing / have implemented
best practices?

Or lie to them and claim that this spammer follows best practices in
email marketing / has implemented best practices? This probably won't
work either.

Want the listings gone? First, remove the parasite(s) from your network
permanently. Apologize and demonstrate that you've taken this action.
Wait. Wait more. Wait even more. Consider re-purposing that netblock for
something non-critical that doesn't rely on sending email for the
foreseeable future. Vet your future customers more carefully. Have terms
of service that prevent this type of thing. Enforce them. Have an abuse
address that is read promptly by a human with the authority to take
action. Respond to abuse complaints by promptly taking action.

DROP generally indicates that the IP range is or has been hijacked. Getting
off it is requires the actual owner to update their ownership records.

Email Marketer has 20 to 25 Spamtraps and these spamtraps has been removed now.

Yes these is something we have in our mind to write them what actions we have

Removing the spamtraps won't fix the problem.

Your Email Marketer needs to fix the very deep issues in their business
process that allowed those spamtraps to get *onto* their lists in the
first place.

Currently any range of Limestone's that hits my server is
added to my personal RBL permanently. They use to be
on a 7 day only listing but that changed here a few years
ago. I suspect it's the same with others, to many strikes
and no 'real' remedial action.

2016-09-13 Thread Mathias Ullrich
If the marketer is sending to traps, then he is not legitimate. Just
removing the identified traps does not fix the problem, it just removes
a symptom.

First step should be to adapt best practices, confirmed opt-in (aka
double opt-in), give the recipient a way to unsubscribe, remove all
brought lists, and so on.
Then you should clean up the lists. Sent a new Opt-In Mail, remove all
shady or malicious sources.

With that information, I'm sure a delisting would not cause any problem.

cheers,
Mathias

Just removing the 25 spamtraps you identified?  Not a very useful way to go.

Read this.  https://www.spamhaus.org/faq/section/Marketing%20FAQs

Your customer will have to comply with them or similar best practices such as
the M3AAWG Sender BCP if their email is going to get anywhere at all – even at
ISPs that don’t use Spamhaus.

That’s a Limestone Networks IP range, so Limestone will need to contact

1-If you know why it was listed and it was a legitimate listing (everyone
makes mistakes, even Spamhaus), then fix what was wrong of figure out the
flaw/loophole/etc and use the delisting form and state this

2-If you don't understand the listing or its wrong in some way, use the
delisting form and ask for more information, explaining where you are not
sure or feel theres a problem.

You will get a response. The guys are stretched a bit thin, especially
after the DDOS bot signup issue but they will respond
