are you using any filters on your layer? is there only a single layer
off each the feature source?

Can you save your flexible web layout as XML and send it to us? (MG Studio has
a function to save as XML) I'd like to try to reproduce the problem.

I am using an invokeURL widget. When my map is launched from mapguide studio
2009 the SESSIONID and MAPNAME parameters are sent without errors to the
mapguide server, however when the map is launched from the index.html
directly these parameters are sent twice.

Request["MAPNAME"] = MyMap48b483ff318e5,MyMap48b483ff318e5

is it a issue of fusion?

OF, if it's solid line, then it's not immediately clear to me why it would be
slower, at least from rendering perspective. One thing you could try is switch
the renderer from AGG to GD in the serverconfig file to see if that makes any
difference.

RE: [mapguide-users] Is there a file size limit?

I would describe the atlas as long lines with multiple vertexes. It is in an
"intelligent watershed atlas" that can be used for modelling flow from head
waters to the mouths in the ocean.

RE: [mapguide-users] Is there a file size limit?

2008-08-26 Thread BradM

We do have a generalized layer that we display to about 1:250,000 and then we
switch to the watershed atlas. The atlas is then available for the larger
scales. The line style is a simple blue line. We didn't want to re-process
the atlas because it would take a lot of work and it worked fine with
MGE2008. But I suppose we could generalize it and cut it up into many parts
if needed.

RE: [mapguide-users] Is there a file size limit?

2008-08-26 Thread Traian Stanev

There is no size limit. To make sure this layer is to blame, did you turn off
all other layers when viewing the map? Also, is this a line layer or a polygons
layer. What line style or polygon style is it using to render? Is there
labeling?

[mapguide-users] Is there a file size limit?

2008-08-26 Thread BradM

After upgrading from MGE2008 to MGE2009 we have noticed a severe decline in
map rendering speed for our hydrology layer for British Columbia. The sdf
file is about 800megs and is in the map repository. Is there a file size
limit? We have tried to optimize the server to improve speeds with no
success. Any suggestions welcomed.

[mapguide-users] Postgis & OGR provider

2008-08-26 Thread Gabriele Monfardini
Hi all,

We're having problems using PostGIS and OGR provider.

We've built MGOS 2.0.1 and fdo-3.3.0 in Ubuntu 7.10 without errors,
but neither PostGIS provider, neither OGR provider works correctly.
They always throw some exceptions when I try to connect to any
PostgreSQL + PostGIS db.

Under MGOS 1.2 OGR provider works fine with the same data.

Does anyone use PostGIS with MGOS 2.0.1 and fdo-3.3.0? With which
provider? Using the binary or compiling all from the source?

Thanks,

Gabriele

Re: [mapguide-users] Mapguide Enterprise 2009 and Oracle View

2008-08-26 Thread Francesco Visentin

I found a way to make the "view data" displayed in Enterprise 2009.

Here my solution, with Autodesk Commercial FDO for Oracle with Oracle 10g

I have a table (TABLE_1) with a spatial column (GEOMETRY), and a slave table
(TABLE_2) with some other related fields.

1) Create a spatial index for TABLE_1, and register TABLE_1 into
MDSYS.SDO_GEOM_METADATA_TABLE

2) Create the view between TABLE_1 and TABLE_2. (in this case: VIEW_1)

3) Manually insert a new row into MDSYS.SDO_GEOM_METADATA_TABLE by copying
the values of TABLE_1 row.
You only need to modify the SDO_TABLE_NAME field value, by inserting the
name of the view (VIEW_1 in this case)

4) Into MapguideStudio, refresh the Oracle Connection (deleting and recreate
the connection is the best way :) )

5) Create the new layer from VIEW_1

This works for me...

Regards
V.

Re: [mapguide-users] Fusion bug - themed layers (legend)

2008-08-26 Thread Paul Spencer
Zac, we'll get on committing your fixes asap - I'm in a bit of a
crunch right now with Mike on holiday and a few other things coming
due. Most of the things you've reported seem straight forward but I
would like to have someone take a few minutes on each issue and just
make sure that there isn't something larger going wrong.

Thanks again for taking the time to report these issues!

Re: [mapguide-users] Lack of coordinate systems

2008-08-26 Thread Jo Cook

Hi Kenneth,

It certainly seems to be the same problem, but I have tried the solution
(copying categories.txt into the both the nad directory and the data
directory and setting the PROJ_LIB environment variable to the nad
directory) but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. I have checked
permissions and this file has exactly the same permissions as everything
else in the directory. When I enumerate the coordinate system categories I
still only see the arbitrary X-Y option.

Can someone who "fixed" this issue confirm whether they copied or moved the
categories.txt file from the server directory, what the permissions are on
it once it's moved, and whether they have the GDAL_DATA and PROJ_LIB
environment variables set when they start the server. I am starting mgserver
as root- is this likely to be part of the problem?

Thanks

Jo

Hi All!

Is it possible to manipulate a MgMap object via the .NET API?
I am using the .NET API without a Viewer-Context. I'm trying to render a Map
to a System.Windows.Form in .NET.
I can render a Map, but can I can't change the ViewExtents or the ViewScale
like this:

MgMap kgMap = new MgMap();
... some map initialization...

MgPoint center = kgMap.ViewCenter; // this works well double viewScale =
kgMap.ViewScale;

kgMap.SetViewScale() // is impossible, no such Method

Is this the right approach for doing such things?
Should I use the Mapagent instead? If yes, which Method will do the Trick?

cheers,
Nothi

RE: [mapguide-users] Manipulating Maps in a Session, .NET API

2008-08-26 Thread Maksim Sestic
Hi Nothi,

Please see Maestro API: http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/wiki/maestro

You need to reference OSGeo.MapGuide.MaestroAPI.dll and
MapGuideDotNetApi.dll libraries to get started. Then look for
RuntimeClasses.RuntimeMap, I'll see to post some coding examples on Wiki
page.

It's still thin on documentation but if you have some previous experience
with managed MG API then it's rather straightforward. Kenneth also did a
great job of enabling (de)serialization fro an to managed types.

Maksim Sestic

Re: [mapguide-users] Manipulating Maps in a Session, .NET API

2008-08-26 Thread Kenneth Skovhede, GEOGRAF A/S

There is no scale in the runtime map (MgMap).
When you request that the image is rendered, you supply dpi, resolution
and either center/scale or extent.
You cannot store the scale or the center in the runtime map, you must
store it locally in your client.
