RE: MI 'Chasing' windows
Martin, WOW!! It is absolutely, exactly what I needed and the scale option is the 'icing on the cake'. I now have complete control over 4 views from one 'master' one and it certainly makes demonstrations easier and much more flashy. Once again the value of this 'list' has proved itself. Thanks very much indeed. The second option will also set the scale to be the same. No error checking, and I haven't tried it on different projections but it should work Hope this helps Martin == Martin Roundill GIS Manager Waitakere City Council Private Bag 93109 Henderson Waitakere City New Zealand -Original Message----- From: Adnitt Nick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, 6 January 2000 06:40 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: MI 'Chasing' windows Hi folks, I have just bought the digitised (scanned) historic mapping of Southampton. MI 5.5 error message on startup
Hi Mappers, I've got a small problem with MapInfo v5.5. Every time I start it up I get the following error message:. (c:\program files\mapinfo\professional\mapinfow.mnu:1020) MapInfo database driver failed to load.C:program files\mapinfo\professional\midloci.dll or dependent driver not found I've de-installed/re-installed it several times but it still doesn't work. The driver file is definately there but it just doesn't load. I have to confess that I did load MI v4.1 (16 bit version) AFTER I loaded MI v5.5 as I needed it to run a map data convertor program. HELP. RE: MI Resignation of OS Director General?
Seems it's true, check out the OS web site.. Change of leadership at Ordnance Survey David Willey has taken over chief executive responsibilities at Ordnance Survey following the decision of Dr Geoff Robinson to step down. David Willey said "Geoff Robinson has made a tremendous contribution to defining the future role of Ordnance Survey. In presenting his paper 'Joined up Geography' to the AGI conference last month he also set out his vision of an Ordnance Survey working with partners to deliver the benefits of consistent and accurate geographic data for the good of the Nation. This met with the widespread approval of all parts of the industry both public and private. The Ordnance Survey Board of Directors will continue to drive forward this new business direction." Doesn't say why though!! Dear All (mainly UK), Not directly MI related but: Apparently Geoffrey Robinson, Director General of Ordnance Survey (the UK's national mapping agency) resigned yesterday. This was after serving only one year in the post. Does anyone know the details as to why? I've been fortunate to meet Geoff on a few occassions and discuss OS direction, and I felt that he had things pretty well under control and that with his leadership was going to take OS to some new and exciting levels. RE: MI Printing from Mr Sid
Bill, What printer are you using? Are you using the latest print driver? Has the printer enough memory? We at Southampton City Council regularly print MrSid format data from MI 5.5 with no problems. This is to a HP 650C at A1 and A0 sizes. Yeah it does take a while for the data to be decompressed but not half an hour. Incidently, the printed result is not as good as printing from the viewer. Good luck... After about a half an hour of processing I gave it the old three fingered salute so that I could go home. Anyone else experience unreasonable printing times using MrSid files.
