The good thing is that oft my order in two days. Larry "David W. Tamkin" wrote: Larry's beliefs are a nice ideal, but they aren't the reality. In the US, if a company has presence ("nexus" is the word the lawyers like to use) in any state, it is responsible for remitting sales tax on sales to customers in that state and permitted to collect the sales tax from the customer instead of paying itself. Nexus is defined very loosely: if you have a salesperson headquarted in that state, if your own trucks make deliveries into that state (or go through that state on their way to others) even if you sent that particular item by common carrier, if you have storage in that state, if you advertise on billboards or in local newspapers in that state, essentially if that state can find any excuse, you have nexus there and must remit sales tax on sales in or into that state. And if you don't, then the customer is responsible for paying use tax (though that's rarely enforced unless the item is used in a business). Apparently Mercata believes it has nexus in Pennsylvania but not in New Mexi- co, so they want sales tax from Larry but not from Aaron. One music publisher charges me Illinois sales tax if I buy their products from one of their sub- sidiaries but not if I buy them from another. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MD: CompUSA deal on Sound Foundry Software
Hi all, I know this is not MD topic, but thought all of the MD to CDR fans would be interested in this. At the local (Beachwood, Oh.) CompUSA, they have a Sound Foundry bundle for an incredible price of $7.88. The bundle includes Sound Forge XP4.5b, along with Sound Foundry ACID loop maker. Sound Forge XP4.5b is a scaled down version of the Sound Forge Pro version that costs hundreds of dollars. For transferring MD to hard disk and ultimately CD audio, the program works great. Sound Forge XP has compression (called dynamics). It has has very detailed editing features. I highly recommend the program. The Sound Foundry ACID program enables you to make music loops using pieces parts. The musical styles are definately more rock and industrial styles. Not my personal favorites, but for the job, does an excellent job at making background musical loops for presentations or background for radio stations etc. FYI, Jerry -- Jerry Jelinek [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Arto Leskinen asked, | Does any of the portable md-players have play one song and stop | operation? No repeat etc. Does any of them have programming? The Aiwa AM-F70 (and I believe its successor, the AM-F80) is programmable. It also has repeat, but you don't have to turn repeat on, so you can program one track, play it and let the machine stop, cancel the program, program a different track, play that one and let the machine stop, etc. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

=== The original message was multipart MIME=== === All non-text parts (attachments) have been removed === Today, the best shock protection for jogging would be to use MDLP. The LP2 or LP4 modes double and quadruple the shock resistance time respectively. My R-90 has skipped (in very few instances) but my R-900 in LP2 mode never has. For jogging, LP4 would be good enough fidelity, since the wind noise and jarring would prevent hearing any detail in the sound anyway. This gives you 160 seconds anti skip. MD: Music and Computer adapters
I use the "line out" from my computer to record any music I have directly to my MD. Sound seems great and it's stereo. What are these special adapters being sold? Why are they better? Thanks,Jerry - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MD: When Oh When.....
I looked at that site. It seems like you could use a regular portable MD and just attach earplugs and then just use the inline controls to the mic. It's probably a little cumbersome though. Jerry - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

MD: drop outs!!
Greets all, some weird behaviours here, I have been recording from CD using my mzr50 for a while now, I set the recording up to sync and forgets about them... here and there I notice sometimes, the recording drops out in certain songs , or that the song is cut into a few tracks or only part of the song is recorded before it jams to the next track next song. how's that? :-) kurt. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
