Re: [MBZ] I'm making a youtuber
Floyd Thursby via Mercedes writes: > I wonder how the youtuber revenues work, he gets hundreds of thousands > of views so that counts for something. Yes, it's all based on views. If you have enough views, advertisers are interested in getting those eyeballs, and you can make some money. So it goes without saying that you will have ads running on your videos. In most cases, you needed reasonably good video quality, editing, and production as well as interesting content to get viewers engaged and coming back. So to really make money, it becomes a full-time job. One other thing, don't have anything in your videos that could be a copyright infringement (even accidentally, such as a radio playing in your shop that is audible in the video) or you'll get "de-monitized" or possibly banned. Re: [MBZ] I'm making a youtuber
YouTube money is dependent on half a billion factors most of which they don't tell you. When I hit 2,000 subscribers my money per view doubled, I went from about $9/mo to about $20/mo nearly overnight. I also started showing up in a lot more suggestions (meaning YouTube recommends me more) so I started getting more views. At 3000 subscribers it happened again. During the ever so important Christmas season I was getting just over $50/mo. If I'd timed some videos to release around then I'd probably have done better. I should give that a shot this year. At this moment I have 3,864 subscribers and today they're showing $42/mo which is on the rise, presumably with the spring camping season on the horizon, views are up 8%, revenue is up 20%. I haven't put up a new video since August, I'm working on one this week, maybe release it next week, then I need to work on an April fools video, I didn't do one last year. Those usually give me a boost... -Curt On Monday, March 8, 2021, 7:04:46 PM EST, Floyd Thursby via Mercedes wrote: That guy has really monetized his nonsense, good for him. Curt - we were vaccinating over 1 million per day under Trump, and Biden* has managed to keep that going, so we are north of 70 million vaccines now. About 30 million people have had the infection and recovered, estimate somewhere around 5x or more that had the infection - were asymptomatic / never tested, and we're probably at about 250 million out of 330 million that have some level of immunity, which is in herd immunity territory. Parties over, death rate is plummeting like a rock, the pols will need to find a new emergency soon. - Max Charleston SC On Mon, Mar 8, 2021 at 12:22 PM Curt Raymond via Mercedes < mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: > Out of curiosity I went and checked how it works in MA. Re: [MBZ] OT Indy COVID vaccine logistics
Out of curiosity I went and checked how it works in MA. We're currently in phase 2 of 3, folks 65+, those who have 2 co-morbidities, healthcare workers, etc. you get the idea. Phase 3 is expected to start in April which, supposedly is going to open the cattle call. I saw somebody getting the vaccine yesterday at the pharmacy. Google suggests 30 million or so people are now fully vaccinated. IIRC Biden has a goal of 100 million in the first 100 days in office which to me seems pretty aggressive. I can't imagine we were vaccinating all that many people per day in January. The ability to vaccinate people pretty much everywhere is going to be crucial to the plan. Getting the doses out seems like it will be the hardest part. -Curt On Monday, March 8, 2021, 11:28:42 AM EST, Allan Streib via Mercedes wrote: Dan Penoff via Mercedes writes: > They just opened up vaccines for people with medical issues under > 65. Re: [MBZ] OT Indy COVID vaccine logistics
We’re going to be up there this weekend, but no appointments on that short notice, unfortunately. We’ll be back in mid April so I’m thinking about setting appointments up then. My only concern is that we might not be back in time for the follow up dose. -D > On Mar 8, 2021, at 11:27 AM, Allan Streib via Mercedes > wrote: > > Dan Penoff via Mercedes writes: > >> They just opened up vaccines for people with medical issues under >> 65. Re: [MBZ] Problems with our '93 300D
Don't know if you got any answers, but my '91 300D did the same thing a few times. After discussing it here, I ended up believing I had carbon buildup in the cylinders and put some liquid "fixer" in that was said to break the carbon up. My wife had just started a job where she was driving 100 mi RT each day to work and those lengthy drives fully warmed the engine and broke the carbon up. After a week or two of the daily drives we never had another problem. We had only owned the car for a week or two when this started - it was exactly as you described - we would back out of the driveway and be enveloped in a cloud of white smoke. The car lost power then things cleared up and he problem went away. BTW, My 91 300D only had 99k miles when I bought it in '06 so it was seldom driven far and did not warm up properly. HTH... Wish I could remember te liquid I used but it's been too long, sorry. But a Net Search will likely provide many hits... Good luck! On 2/7/2021 6:24 PM, Craig via Mercedes wrote: On the 35 mile trip to church this morning, we were driving at 75 mph when suddenly the engine started running rough and a big cloud of white smoke came out of the exahust (right into the front of the semi which was tailgating us). After a couple of seconds the engine started running normally and the smoke stopped. I checked the oil pressure (pegged) and the temperature (85 C) and saw and heard everything was OK, so I kept on driving. Leaving church, we had a little problem backing up, which I attributed to the rear wheel parking brakes acting up as they have done in the past. We went to the nearby supermarket and everything seemed normal. I found there was a long line to get into the building (yes, again!), so we left and drove east. We got off the Interstate at Edgewood and stopped at the supermarket there. Interestingly, there was no line at all and not even someone watching the front door. I got some of the items we needed, went back to the car, put them into the trunk, and proceeded to leave -- except the car would not move backward. It was OK going forward, however. I left the engine idling and checked the transmission fluid level. It seemed to be high, though I am not satisfied I'm getting the right level indication when I check ATF levels. I did check the level a couple of months ago and recall it was OK then. After getting some help pushing the car out of the parking space (up a slight incline) we were on our way toward the Interstate onramp. We accelerated up the ramp and got on the roadway just as the engine ran rough for a few seconds and then ran normally. I looked back and saw a large cloud of a little white, but mostly black smoke. The car ran fine the rest of the way home (15 miles), shifting through all of the forward gears as it was supposed to. I was even able to get it positioned so it would roll backwards down the incline from our front gate to our building, so it's ready to go tomorrow -- we need to drive to our dentist (56 miles) to have the recurrent infection in Shirley's jaw looked at. So, does anyone have any idea what's going on with the car? Any idea if we will be OK driving to Albuquerque tomorrow? Thank you for your help! Re: [MBZ] OT Indy COVID vaccine logistics
It occurred to me that we might be able to get the vaccine while we’re in Indiana, as they’re far ahead of Florida’s program and we’re not friends of the governor nor a large property developer. Down here you still can’t get an appointment unless you’re over 65 or have some sort of a medical history that would qualify you - the list of such afflictions that still hasn’t been defined over a week after they announced this option and put out a form for doctors to sign. I was able to go online at the Indiana Department of Health site and find numerous vaccine sites in our area, however, none had appointments much before early April. We’re planning on being up there in mid April, so I’m thinking we might go ahead and sign up there to get the vaccine, as it’s probably going to be long before we’ll ever get one in Floriduh. -D >> Mar 7, 2021 5:42:04 PM Allan Streib via Mercedes : >> >>> Wife got her shot today, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
