If you have a NAPA nearby I would get one there. You can look at it before you 
walk out, and if there are problems with it you will have someone local to deal 
with and a hassle-free return/exchange.

Autozone, Pep Boys, and others also warranty what they sell but they are a 
lower tier in terms of the quality of the parts and the 
knowledge/professionalism of the staff, at least in my experience.

Saving $10 over the expected lifetime of a master cylinder is meaningless, 
regardless of the age of the car.

My buddy's grandson came over today to help me change front brakes on 
the 05ML500, the warning light has been blinking intermittently for a 
coupla weeks.  I ordered a set of Bosch pads off Amazon, good price, 
supposedly came with wear sensors too.  The stuff came last week or the 
week before, been sitting around.  It was just the box of stuff with a 
label and taped up.  Opened it up today and 1 of the pads was missing, 
one of the wear sensors was missing, and the one in there was broken.  
Bugger.  So anyway I set up a return and ordered another set, will see

[MBZ] strange deal -- 2 Mercedes ml AMGs for sale - $3, 000 (Hilliard)

I have 2 Mercedes MLs, 2001 ML55 AMG, and a 2008 ML63 AMG for sale. The 
2001 has been sitting for 2 years, ran when I parked it. It has the 
Designo package interior. The 2008 was just taken off the road, runs 
great, has a bad rear SAM, and rear door open hydraulic pump and control

Flying up a ravine watching the ground rise FAST and more and more and more 
flaps kept coming out of the wing.  Probably had to use 90 degrees of flap to 
land a 747 there.  Did for a 727, all three sections out of the wing.  Pretty 
impressive for early 1960's engineering!

That runway is 6700 ft above sea level I think, higher than Denver.  And short.

Sienna is one of the least safe vehicles on the road if I recall correctly. Fix 
it and get rid of it!

[MBZ] Master cylinder

The brake master cylinder seems to be failing on my old toada sienna family
truckster.  This vehicle is too old to justify the price of an OE one, so
I’m considering a rebuilt or aftermarket cylinder.



Most parts places and web sites seem to carry the same brands of
aftermarket cylinders like - Centric, Dorman, Cardone, Raybestos.  Can
anybody offer experience/advice about selecting among these brands?  Why
would you buy a rebuilt one when a new one costs ~$10 more?

[MBZ] Brake Fluid

Thanks for the responses.  I had rec'd. info that  Dot 2 and also Dot 5.1
was the correct MB recommendations, so I am asking the group what is the
correct one. Also, a MB Dealer is a long way off for me, I usually go to a
local parts dealer. I have had the pads checked, and all ok, however I did
notice some dampness around the master cyl. and figured I will have that
looked into, once I top up the reservoir with Dot 4.  Thanks.
