My old GF used to go to Jim Williams parties in the 70s and she said they were 
great. I had another friend who used to do furniture repairs in the basement of 
the shop, as well. I never met the man.

I never show them my receipt either. I have had them argue and told them if 
they think I stole something they can either get a warrant to search my bags or 
call the cops and continue walking.

I did it realize they had the ability to track you thru the store with your 
WiFi/Bluetooth on.

That’s an excellent book. There’s (is/was) a lot that goes on under the surface 
around here 

You need to go back and follow the Murdaugh business for some good Suthrun good 
ol boy corruption and crime. There’s a Netflix documentary about it that’s 
sorta OK but the Murdaugh Murders podcast is excellent — start at the beginning 
and listen to them all. They’ve got them on YouTube now too. They all lived 
down about halfway between Charleston and Beaufort SC which isn’t too far from 
Savannah. And there’s more coming on that whole story.

[MBZ] $400E500 seats

[Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes]

I hit the $400E500 front seats (black leather) with leather cleaner and they 
look really good. Only one minor scuff on driver seat outside bolster, barely 
noticeable.  There are some white specks of what looks like paint, most of them 
I was able to clean and scrape off.  A few more I need to work on. Not sure 
what that’s about. 

I pulled out the rear seat bottom to clean under it and there is some schmutz 
on the cloth surround in the back of it so I’ll get the steamer and extractor 
after that when I do the detailing then do the leather. 

Car has 202kmi. The interior is surprisingly going to look very good. Black 
leather seems to hold up much better than any other color, esp the brown/tans. 

I need to order some heater hoses and some vent tube the rats had fun with. 
Will dig into the EPC on that. 

I did a quick wash of the car to get off months of gunk. Most of the paint is 
really bad with clear coat bubbling or missing. The hood and roof are actually 
ok. A clay bar on that will do wonders for that when that time comes. 

Fun times with a cheap Benz!

Oh, and I went to buy some leather cleaner. They used to have 2 or 3 kinds 
including Lexol which seemed pretty good. . Now all they have for car cleaners 
and waxes and whatnot are Meguiars and Chemical Guys and the stuff is not 
cheepcheep either. I found some Meguiars leather cleaner in a box on the top 
shelf but there wax no place on the lower shelves for it or a price. The bottle 
was like $11 which was pretty steep

Savannah has several superstore Walmarts but our closest which is between 
Savannah and Tybee on Whitmarsh island is a vintage small store Walmart …. It 
sells beer and fry good groceries, but is not a supermarket or super store …. 
It makes for a much easier in and out experience. It has all the normal 
departments but no produce or refrigerated food.

I’m surprised it still exists..

I’m not. Our “old” WalMart was a legacy rural store, and you could tell just by 
the inventory. It was dark, the aisles were narrow and tall, and if there were 
50 people in the place it felt crowded.

They built a new “supercenter” about a mile and a half away from my house in 
the twennyteens. I can get there in a matter of minutes, even when it’s busy 
it’s easy to get around in, and it well stocked (even though they don’t do 
night stock anymore and the aisles are always full of pallets.)

I still don’t like Walmart, but I’m not stupid. If I can buy brand name stuff 
there cheaper than anyone else, that’s where I’m going…

Can’t say. For things that I expect to have for a while I tend to go for name 
brand stuff. Had I gone with one of the little handheld steamers I would 
probably have gone HF, but after doing my research and deciding on what exactly 
I wanted and my expectations, I went with the McCulloch.

Probably getting scammed by a Nigerian for gift cards or iTunes cards. Happens 
all the time.

Floor limit might have been more than what you bought, or they “recognized” 
your card and gave you a pass.

For what it’s worth, I always run my debit card as a credit card at 
WallyWhirled. They have to py more in merchant’s fees that way. I also use my 
grocery list to cover the camera on the terminal while I check out. Just fold 
it in half and drop it over the top of the display where the camera is. Yeah, I 
know they have cameras all over the place, but this is my way of giving them a 
big FU.

Yeah the steam totally kills schmutz on plastic and carpet but no good on 
leather. Add the extractor and brushes on the drill with some good cleaner and 
detailing is very effective. I’ve got to hit the $400E500 with mine soon.

[MBZ] OT strange things about at Walmart

I went to Walmart today when I was out doing errands to get a few minor things. 
What a sh*tshow. I opted for the self checkout which only had a 15min line 
because 2/6 machines were inop and 2 had red lights flashing and the woman who 
tended the checkout was also tending the only 2 regular checkouts that probably 
had 20min lines. 

There was a guy ahead of me wearing a head/face covering like the landscapers 
use to keep crap out of their lungs and hair. He kinda had that appearance too. 
 I thought that a bit odd being inside, but Walmart…

I watch this guy scan 8 $100 gift cards and a coupla other things, total $859.  
I thought that a bit odd (stereotyping) that this guy would have $859 but who 
knows. Then he proceeds to try 4 different credit cards and none would work. 
H. I proceeded to check out my stuff and as I was in the parking lot this 
guy comes out at a rapid pace with no bag for his stuff and jumps in some 
vehicle that takes off. Hmmm. Nefarious activities about, no doubt. And no

And when I checked out the machine did not ask for the PIN to my debit card so 
that was odd, but makes it easy for these criminals. I only bought like $30

“worked on.”  While it’s out of the weather I’m not sure it is gaining any
