Old loop GP. Have run the battery down in a sad attempt to get her to light off. Thereby blowing the offending GP out into a waiting slab of wood Do you have the remaining GP's working? I'm sure you can get it started on three GP's/cylinders, if things are warm enough. (As they ought to be around now.) And you can always shoot a hair drier/heat gun down its snout. You can just short past the one GP, the excess voltage won't be so high as to take them all out. If you're trying to light it off with no GP's heating at all, I'm not surprised it's not working. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Kevin, I have been working on this stupid thing for weeks. Took two to get the body to let go. Been through the use of lubes and torch to get the thing to come off (outer body screwed out leaving the inner loop body behind). Cranked the engine over without glow until I near killed the battery in hopes it would blow out. Used dental tools to see if I could remove crap holding it in. Smacked it with BFH for a while. Pry bar and nut on the protruding end. It broke off. Soaked the hole with lighter fluid and set it aflame. That did not do anything. AT ALL! BiL, the diesel dude, says the head has to come off and send it to a machine shop. May as well grind the cylinders, re-ring them, and pretty much rebuild the engine, since the seal between the block and tranny leaks, and it will be open and out anyway. poop! clay On May 31, 2009, at 2:24 PM, kevin kraly wrote: I can't believe that the #4 GP is stuck that badly!
