Yeah you gotta pay a copart fee then a broker fee too, it adds up on a
beater In NC it’s easier although some cars are not to the public for
reasons unclear. I need to find someone here with a license

Your CoPart fees are lower with a dealer, but even a low $200 broker fee won't
be covered by the reduction in CoPart fees on a $725 car.

Wow, you're right.
It's clean title and I can't buy it without a broker.

In MI, we've got salvage = dealer only
parts only = only dealers with salvage licenses and can never be road titled,
but I've heard of people claiming they successfully converted PO to rebuilt
title. IIRC, cost to repair exceeds 80% or 90% of value makes it PO, even it
it's worth 2k and the damage is superficial like getting keyed.

Clean title = I can bid on it
Clean title dealer only = I can't bid on it, and this is how the donated cars
get listed.

I can see if I can dig up the email addy for a guy in MD with a dealer license,
or you can find a broker through CoPart.

The only 'no license required' ML55 in the country right now is (and I'd gladly

Looks like a salvage ML500 (or 320, he didn't give the VIN) with a ML55 badge on
it. For 4800lb, I think my ML350 scoots along better than it has any right to.
But a rusty or wrecked ML55 would be quite impressive, if not scary, depending
on the quality/stability of the converted car.

I wonder how the weight of a C126 unibody and interior compares to the W163
body/interior/hatch.

Better finish the coupe first though.  you should be able to just open

Actually that’s an interesting crackpot idea. The wheelbases Of the
two chassises (126 coupé and 163) are within an inch and body widths
and tracks are also very close so those aspects would be close fits.

I wonder if the 560 engine would mate up to the AWD drive train or
just leave the stock ML engine in it. I guess a newer engine like a
500 or 55 M113 would have moah powah than the older 560 M117 but it
would be run by nannies

hood stack for exhaust?

That is pretty neat. Swap that special-build body onto a more modern
