Re: [MBZ] Lost Titles
I go through lost bill of sale issues with snowmobiles a lot. I'm a klutz with them I guess. My dad has sold me every snowmobile I've ever registered. Interestingly this year the bill of sale didn't magically reappear just after I registered the machine, the other two did and immediately got corralled in the snowmobile stuff folder. -Curt From: Curly McLain 126die...@gmail.com To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Thursday, April 2, 2015 5:52 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] Lost Titles All pretty much spot on except number three. Re: [MBZ] Lost Titles
Does anyone know of a relatively painless way to get a title for a vehicle? Highly State-dependent. In WA, the total cost (for an abandoned car, the Frankenheap) was the price of a certified delivery State form letter to the last owner of record. (I filled it out, and mailed it.) It bounced, which was the best possible outcome. I took that, _unopened_, along with my bill of sale to the licensing agent. That's all it took, plus the usual tax and fees for any car sale. In this case (10yo CA plates) there was an out-of-State inspection/fee, which is mostly checking VIN numbers. $50, at that time. I wasn't about to spend serious money washing a title for that $100 car! -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
