If its a standard iPod connector (ie not the iPhone 5 lightning connector) I've got a Monster brand unit that has 3 FM frequencies, lightly used I'll let go real cheap. I think they retail for $50, I'd let mine go for $20. It works great, in fact I bought another one that has a standard 1/8" jack for use with standard devices since my old iPod mini died and my new iPhone has the new type connector. -Curt Date: Sat, 02 Feb 2013 22:52:15 -0500 From: Mitch Haley To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] New Car (MB content) Message-ID: <510ddeef.5090...@voyager.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed How about an FM transmitter for the iPod and no modification to the car? Re: [MBZ] New Car (MB content)
Congrats Dan, glad to heard you're behind the three pointed star again. One more thought about the radio... going with a high-end aftermarket radio with a compatible wiring harness will allow you to hold onto the radio much longer than you have the car. If you end up passing the W140 along in a few years, you can pull out the Becker/Blau etc and put the original back in, then use the radio in your next car. I do this over and over (and over). As long as the wiring is ok, its easy. Check with BeckerUSA (Ed) I am sure they can add the ipod (aux) input without damage. I would guess this radio already has an input for AUX as a cord dangling off the back or a jack on the back. Re: [MBZ] New Car (MB content)
Congratulations; 'glad you had a rewarding and safe trip; 'sorry I couldn't meet you there. My IVIG treatment went well, but I was right not to try to get out yesterday afternoon. Tarek's father was gracious enough to pick me up at the airport and follow me to the NC DMV so I could get a temp plate before I started south. Trip was uneventful and I was resting in bed by 10:30 that evening. It got the full Mercedes Martha Stewart treatment today, which will continue tomorrow after I am finished with a maintenance outage at work on Sunday morning when we have to take an EVA down to replace some controllers. New windshield and probably a set of tires coming this week.
