Re: [MBZ] OT - Gross Incompetence. (RANT)

2019-12-21 Thread Clay Monroe via Mercedes
My view, over the past few decades of watching the tides, is that this is all
an evolutionary process to cull the herd of debris. Policies have been enacted
to discourage active procreation, and spin has been induced to confound the
soft headed sorts to meander into non productive actions which will remove
their genes from the future.

Women now are working past their abilities to serve their primary reproductive
functions. They are old, but not wise in how to assist in caring for coming
generations of humans. Men are encouraged to do things counter to millions of
years of breeding, and the foods we consume are destroying our DNA and ability
to impregnate anyway.

Very much like the decline on Mercedes Benz cars. They no longer are able to
survive to the point of classic, let alone vintage or antique.

It is my considered opinion that the present principles of "Diversity" and
"Political Correctness" have accelerated the Darwin Theory of "Only the
Strong Survive".
Ultimately, all those focused on whether the sit or stand to pee instead of
improving the human race will perish, and those who know not to piss
themselves and survive and thrive will survive to breed.
As for myself, "You can't kill me, you can only wish you did."

Don't forget such things as business licenses, inventory taxes, business
taxes, employee required health care, minimum wage, OSHA, EPA, and parking
lot inspection, sewer fees for business hookup... etc etc etc...

Bottom line, easy to lose focus on customer service and product support.
Seems many have.
Ohh.. forgot... your new transgender bathrooms requirement.

It applies to all businesses, but the fortune 500 or 1000 or somewhere
in there aren't bothered as much as they can own armies of lawyers and
buy their own pols.  But every business is constantly harassed.   Try
making something simple like a dog treat.   You will be smothered by
federal 3 letter agencies, 4 letter agencies, state agencies, local
yokels and probably others too.  Each demands fees, and compliance with
regulations that often counter each other.   Then there are the industry
agencies, and compliances that you need to do for cred in the industry
and to get customers

IF you can survive all that, then you need to travel to Industry
expositions, and conventions, and pay the rapacious rates demanded by
the sponsors, hotels, restaurants, taxi etc.

Entitlement is a problem. Employees believe that they are entitled to

I mean, we're kind of victims of our society. We live in a world where the
"best deal", meaning "least upfront cost" is all anybody seems to care about.
I prefer to buy quality but sometimes its hard to tell where the quality is,
often the more expensive option isn't quality or isn't enough of a quality
improvement to matter. I still support Harbor Freight wrenches, for the price
they're unbeatable. You can't buy a wrench for twice what they cost that is
even as good, never mind better...
OTOH "Darn Tough" socks are the best I've ever worn and I'm not buying anything
else. They're the most expensive socks I've ever had and worth every penny.
Made in USA too.

As I get things sorted at the new house, I purchase new products, some
quite substantial and/or expensive. I have expectations that these
products be well designed and built, some of the criteria I use to
make my purchase decision.

I’m questioning the competence of some major manufacturers after my
recent experiences, for example:

1.) Kohler Cimmaron toilet - plumber son gets it all installed and
ready to go, on,y to discover that the fill valve is defective and
must be replaced. A call to my good friends at Kohler got a, “OK,
like, we’re sorry, and we’ll send out a replacement in 8-10 days”

Yeah, not acceptable, folks. A very expressive conversation with the
phone idiot about Herbert V. Kohler and “gracious living” (one of his
“values” that’s engraved all over the company) and I git two day
expedited shipping. And by the way, who pays for the plumber’s
callback because of your incompetence?

2.) Bosch dishwasher - Got the old dishwasher out, the new Bosch ready
to go in, but no sign of a drain hose. Look at the installation manual
under “Parts provided with dishwasher - drain hose.” Nowhere to be found.

A call to Bosch yields a similar response. 5-7 days and we’ll have one
to you. Nope, buddy, not acceptable. “If you call back in the morning
between 8 and 12 Eastern time you can get one expedited in two days.”
