Yeah they are around here too from time to time. You'll see some guys in the parking lot of a closed business, selling meat out of the back of a truck. Seems super sketchy. A freezer full of beef will probably stay cold long enough to do a day's deliveries just from the mass of the frozen contents. They get back in the afternoon, load up for the next day, plug in the freezers overnight, repeat. That might be what we end up doing. They don’t really have to be running while going down the road. Only when parked overnight. I could just throw a couple of them on my utility trailer but would need some way to lock them down so they don’t wonder off. Would be better to find a cheap enclosed trailer. They probably don’t. I’ll bet they use dry ice. There are guys that used to be around the FL house that went around in little pickup trucks with chest freezers in the back selling “overstock” meat from local restaurants (allegedly). Always seemed sort of scammy, and with so many carny people in the area, you’re prone to seriously question people doing stuff like this. I had one come by our cul-de-sac a few years ago and hit me up. Said he had a bunch of “overstock” meat from a nearby Chili’s restaurant he was trying to sell. I said, “Really? funny that Craig, my neighbor, (pointing at house across the street) didn’t mention that. I thought about that as well. Re: [MBZ] Portable freezer trailer
Yeah the other thought I had was put a couple of chest freezers in the trailer, if that would be enough capacity. Mount a small generator somewhere for power. But those freezers are made to sit on a solid floor, not bounce down the road. They might not hold up to the movement and vibration.
